Oshawa Public Libraries - McLaughlin Branch

Very nice and fun library for kids. Starting from toddler age it’s perfect and gives a lot of different activities beside reading books.

Librarians, staff and security members are helpful. Just some of the patrons here are "interesting" to say the least. If you sit down on any of the chairs, be cautious for our blood sucking insect friends courtesy of the homeless and other unclean Oshawans.

Sometimes the same unclean folks give off wonderful smells of not cleaning themselves which is wonderful when you're trying to sit down and work on something.

After you go home, be mindful of your outside clothes and make sure you don't make the mistake of sitting on your bed, sofa, couch, etc with the same pants you wore to this library.

Decent selection, only real problems is that the staff constantly reshelving books without signing them back in and their staff would rather call cops on someone rather than approach and assess first. Not me but I've seen it first hand several times.

I was at the giant book sale, I bought allot of dad's some very old books, and a gift for friend. I like the library, always good experience there.

Oshawa public libraries, are really progressive in their care of their catalogue. Even with the current societal leanings. They have endeavoured to create a knowledge based and comprehensive spate of books.

This is my favourite branch to bring the kids. The whole lower level is for kids, so I don't feel as bad when mine (2 &4) get a little wild. There are lots of activities for kids of all ages. The staff is also amazing.

Great amount of resources! Also love that they have a separate floor for children.
