Osmow's Shawarma

Love that this location is opened late. We called ahead to order the chicken on the rocks and it was ready to pick up when we arrived. So delicious!

Not as good compared to other locations.

- fries were not very good
- salad lettuce were partly wilted
- napkins were washroom brown paper towels
- shawarma spit was broken
- washroom soap was broken
- staff don't greet you

Inconsistent portion. Some days it's okay, some days you get half portions.

Today I picked up food, went back to work, opened the container and drove straight back and got a refund. Ridiculously small portion. You would expect that when you're paying $14 just for a bowl, with no drink and side, that you wouldn't get a half portion. Completely ridiculous.

The single employee on shift at 3 pm Thursday Oct 19 was also rude and didn't really care about her job.

I visited Osmow's Shawarma during National Shawarma Day, and despite waiting in line for an hour, the experience was well worth it. I ordered the $5 Chicken on the Rocks and a $5 wrap. The flavor and quality of the food made the wait worthwhile. The chicken was delicious, and the wrap was a great value for the price. I would definitely recommend Osmow's Shawarma to fellow shawarma enthusiasts!

I was not familiar with this food franchise brand because I just stumbled upon this location at random. I'm from Woodstock, Ontario coming backing from Hilton Hotel nearby with my daughter.
We're hungry and drive to this mini Plaza because of food businesses we saw.

We end up ordering Chicken Poutine, Large size with level of hotness at "Hot". My daughter was craving for Poutine and since we didn't see any ordinary Poutine on the Menu, we opted for Chicken Poutine. It was a very hot day and I forgot to take pictures of the food or the place because my intention was not on doing any review on this business.
Here is what I saw on this day.

Service:
There was just one Staff inside making all the orders, it was a busy afternoon for him and he was very nice guy with good manner and customer service was good. If I were to rate him base on his own efforts of trying to troubleshoot the problems, I would give him 4/5 because he could use some helping hands at that busy hours. There were people picking up their orders and some food delivery people also doing the same. There was a group of 3 people in the restaurant when I arrived, empty table sets for dine-in but not wiped and dirty with foods drops. So, helping hand or another Staff could have help cleaning the tables and arranging the Take-Out Foods but there was only one Cook to do all.

The environment:
As described above, this place is not setup for "Eat-in or Dine-In" because the empty tables sets are not cleaned, only expect self-clean by the customers themselves. I have to clean our Table and wall-Seats because they are dirty with foods from last customers. The tables are not secured to the ground and are not stable but wiggled all around like a spin table. This was a tell-tale that these must be tables for the outside dine-out as seen on their business pictures but still not aligned with the ground.

Food:
Large Chicken Poutine was order with hot sauce. First all, there are 2 sizes Options- Small or Large, which I found to be odd when I saw their package representation. My daughter is 13 year old, my intention is to order her Poutine but the small size looks to tiny just for fries alone, so the Small size option is unreasonable for the food type and price! The Large size is the only reasonable option for any Teenager to 1-2 Adults just snacking.
The finished presentation of the Chicken Poutine was unrecognizable as its title because all I could see was pool of too much sauce with too hot of the hot sauce! I couldn't see the Chicken or the Cheese and the Fries are already drowning in the pool of Sauce! We dig in anyway to eat our food and the hot sauce was just too extreme hot for the level picked. The guy read my facial expression and offer to add extra garlic sauce to kill-off the chili hotness but I said "no, thank you" because there are no space to add any more sauce! We were literally eating garlic hot sauce and the essence of what a Poutine is, was not found in this food. I stumbled on Chicken pieces and cheese curds while stirring my "Soup of Drowned Fries ". Yeah, it was not pretty, is an understatement! But the Cook Guy was nice and he pity me, which I accepted his demeanor.

Conclusions:
I cannot judge this Restaurant food based on this my very first time encountered because I saw the stressful condition the solo staff had to work in. The guy was trying his best to fulfill all orders and must have put too much sauce on my food and the only way he can fix it was either add more sauce or prepared a new dish again. And he saw only one solution that won't solve the root problem in that scenario.
I wish the Restaurant Owner well and I hope he/she continued to improve this restaurant by reading their customers' free review to implement better satisfying conditions for their business.

. I hope it is was my last time in Osmows. Your "brand" is dies, who will come to you again if the super size wrap has more onions than meat inside.

Came in hungry and this was the only place open. Got chicken on the sticks and could see that workers are putting love in the food. Fifteen dollars is alot of money for some people and the workers normally get desensitized to the fact that someone is spending their hard earned $ and deserves fresh hot food. Not here, keep up the good work night time crew!

This is an amazing Osmos, this is a new location on Uber eats for Thornhill. Always reliable and the food is amazing. Would recommend if you love the original chicken on the rocks how it's supposed to be made.

Originally I thought this was a science store for kids, as given the name Osmosis, but when I walked inside I really enjoyed the food.

Wonderful experience first time my friend introduced me here and from that I’m hooked believe dat.hospitality from the workers are amazing.ibrar my guy!

The food is amazing but the customer service is just horrible. I'm not one to criticize since I've worked in the food industry/customer service at Little Caesars for 4 years so I can understand, but this service was just absolutely terrible. There needs to be some more training or new employee's.

I work across the street and the first time I ordered over the phone for pick up, I walked in and they didn't even know who I was or what my order was and had to wait 15 mins.

The second time, I asked for a chicken shawarma plate and I received a wrap, I didn't want to be a pest so I let it go.

Yesterday, I decided to give it one more try to see if this time something will change. I made my order and watched several uber drivers come in and talk to the ladies and have them make their orders in front of them before mine was even started. After 15-20 mins of waiting, the employee who cashed me out at the front had come up to me and asked me if had ordered yet.

Eventually, I received my wrap and I noticed that the wrap was as thin as a toothpick. I even ordered more toppings this time and it was still portioned less than anytime I had before.

It's upsetting considering the food is great but I no longer will be coming to this location as they can't seem to get it right at least one time.

By far the WORST shawarma I’ve had in years. I should’ve taken the extra 3 min and drove south to a real shawarma place that’s been around for 30+ years.do yourselves a favour and go to Pitalicious down the street.

I’ve been to this Osmows location in markham multiple times and each time I am disappointed.
I usually went to the osmows by morningside which made me love the food but at this location they give less of a portion, less sauce, dry and flavourless chicken, cold stale fries and the food has a odour that smells like it went bad.
I thought it was just maybe me but I’ve come here 3 times now and it’s been the same thing over and over.

All in all, this place makes me sick with sacrificing quality to save some bucks.

For the love of the customer, don't list/ask for the toppings in the sandwich, and then up charge for certain toppings. It's bad business. It's a lot easier to ask if they want any EXTRA toppings like feta, rather than listing feta with the regular toppings and then surprise charging $1 for it on the bill. Also, who charges $0.25 extra for tahini? I haven't been to one middle eastern restaurant that charged extra for a staple sauce like tahini. Feta I may understand, but not tahini. You make a lot of money, don't go for the easy markup grabs.

Food was good, no complaints there. Went with coworkers to try this place out and the first of our group to order was given a discount for working in the area. When it was our turn to order, we told the employee where we worked & we were told you have to work in the same plaza. We then pointed at the first person who was given a discount and told the employee we were all together. The employee looked at our coworker for confirmation before giving us a discount. Not sure I'd come back if that's the type of service you get where theres a lack of consistency.

I find osmos is very location dependant and it appears this one is still new and trying to figure out their operations. I ordered a super chicken shawarma and it came with no sauces. Looks like you have to order these at an additional charge. Over the lunch rush it can take very long to get food. (they did give me a small free fries with sauce! Without having to complain when I had to wait long)

Best service, even though small amount of manpower they did extraordinary job today. I was very happy with their service. I will definitely suggest my friends to get taste of this place whenever they get to taste OSMOW's.

My favorite go to place for a full fledged meal. My favorite - Chicken on the Sticks. I also love their Half & Half Chicken. What stands out about them is the sauce and seasoning that comes with all items on their menu. If you haven't been to an Osmow's yet. You're missing out on life

This a hidden gem of a restaurant. They offer a variety of Middle Eastern food, including schwarmas (hope I spelled it correctly), Fallafels, and other dishes. There were 5 of us and everyone said the food was fantastic. They give you a huge portion of food.it tastes wonderful, the prices are very reasonable and the service is so friendly and quick. They have several tables so you can eat there, but we took it home to watch the Leafs game (time for them to go golfing). I'm looking forward to coming here again very soon.

This is the best Osmow’s location I’ve been to so far. Service was fast and food was made fresh. The owner is a great guy and I would go to this one over the others for a guaranteed good experience.

To be honest, I have been at a few Osmow's and this is my least favourite one. I always get the half and half chicken. I didn't want to write a review but this is the 4th time I got this and the Fries is always uncooked. They always seem to forget to put the hot sauce. I think they need to go check out the Osmow's at Morningside and Military trail and learn from them. Sorry, just being honest.if it happened once or twice I can understand but every time I get this order the fries are uncooked. Ruins my appetite.

New Osmow's, it seems they opened in Feb 2019. The service was prompt, the location is not too obvious unless you go north on woodbine from hwy-7 so I think they should somehow draw more attention to themselves to let people going on hwy-7, which is pretty busy, know there is an Osmow's in the area. Overall positive experience.

Best food for vegetarians.

Delicious food. Definitely a lunch spot. Cheap salads. Their hot sauce is bad. Fries are standard. Their service is beyond terrible. Kinda pricey. But portion size is good would return maybe once a month considering i work in the area. Would not come for dinner. Would not recommend to anyone.

First time here and oh man! I don't know what it is about this location but the food was just so good compared to a couple other locations I've checked out!

I ordered the half and half mixed (half fries, half rice with chicken and beef) but received the mixed on the rocks, no fries. But oh well, that was the only downfall of my experience.

Overall the meat was cooked to perfection compared to dry meat I've received at other locations. The sauces were good and the portion was huge!

Although, one thing to be mindful of, when ordering, they quickly asked if I wanted hummus, tatziki and feta cheese, so I quickly said yes to all. Then I realized they charge for all of those items. I still wanted to try it all, but was just a little annoyed that I had to pay an extra $2 for a small scoop of hummus and feta cheese.

Overall, food was really good, and I'll for sure be back to check out the rest of the menu.

Very good food and service. I tried beef Shawerma which was awesome. The manager there called Mr. Arlin, he’s so friendly, he offers us free falafel to taste, it was amazing too

Their Chicken salad has lots of room for improvement! Vegetables not fresh, chicken was dry, not fresh, and the dressing was just greasy, no particular taste. Very disappointing.: (

Wow, great food and great pricing. Although service can be kind of slow, and last time I was there they all out forgot to make my food for 10 minutes. Its all small potatoes though. Food is excellent.

Long wait time (10 min, 1 other customer in front) for an extremely poorly made shwarma wrap. The wrap was so loose that halfway through eating, the back half of the wrap fell out and did a roll down my shirt.

Quality of food isn't the worst I've had in a shwarma joint, but this is pretty near the bottom. There are essentially two contrasts wih the flavours: bland, and burn your mouth hot.

Pickles: probably used a colouring agent to make them look appealing. Can't taste any sourness or saltiness. No crunch to them either.

Tahini: looks like runny mayo, can't even tell you what it tastes like. Enough said. I doubt there's even a single sesame seed in the entire bottle.

Hot Sauce: asked for a little spicy and received habanero level spiciness in the wrap. Also, hot sauce is all heat and no flavour.

Chicken: nice, juicy and bland. Come on guys, this is blander than the first time I poached a pot of chicken drumsticks when I was 11 years old.

Veggies: probably fresh? Nothing stands out in flavour nor freshness.

Ordered twice from this location and dealt with Arlin on both occasions. Customer service was excellent and the food was great. Looking forward to eating here again.

Went to try their chicken shawarma poutine. The chicken was fresh and tasted really good. The staff were extremely helpful with my order.

Terrible experience. Initially it seemed like it would be good. The person who took my order was friendly, the prices seemed reasonable (especially compared with other places in the same plaza). But after ordering, everything went south. I ordered a super chicken shawarma wrap, two people tried to make it and each time, the wrap fell apart. 3 times I watched as they remade my order. After the third time, I said that we could switch it to a regular if it made it easier, to which I meant that if they wanted, we could refund my first order, and I would order a regular instead, but no, I was given a regular and free drink Osmow's branded drink that I had already said a number of times that I did not want. I was late for work, no time to debate, so I took it and ran. The wrap fell apart as I tried to eat it. It was all over. It was just a really bad experience. If I want Sawarma wrap in the future, I will stick with Sawarma Stop on Hwy 7, which is only a five minute walk away.

Chicken wasn’t fresh, blended with lots of sauce to cover.we order around 2: 30pm. Should be best time of the day.
Will try one more time to be fair

This is the best place to enjoy lunch/ dinner, very clean and friendly staff I will recommend anyone to try it and you won’t regret it
