I love this clinic. The vets are compassionate and thorough. The RVTs are friendly and calm. I love how they write your pet's name and weight on the glass of the door pane to tell the vet who is waiting inside the exam room. Great vet clinic, very organized.
Our puppy was very sick and Dr Julie was able to save our little guy and get him home with us thanks to all the staff for taking such good care of our fur baby
For over 20 years, we spoke highly of this clinic. Right up until it was time to put our family pet to rest. Whatever good things we had to say have now been overshadowed by the horrible treatment I was given over the phone. I will never know why they were so cold and disrespectful, but after all the years of being loyal clients it was hurtful and cruel at a most difficult time. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. Please, do not ever treat your clients this way ever again. Do better. Be better.
I was recommended this place by a good friend of mine, they'd been taking their dog here her entire life. Sadly, her dog got older and older and needed to be put down. She had an appointment scheduled for the weekend so her kids had time to come and be with their family dog for one last time.
Two days before the appointment, she received a phone call informing her that her appointment had been moved forward - for her "convenience". Not at all convenient, as this would mean she would be attending the appointment all alone and her children wouldn't get to say goodbye.
After telling the employee on the other end exactly this, she was met with no assistance. No compassion. No empathy. No apologies. Just an incredibly rude phone call with no regard for what a difficult time this was for the family.
What an absolute disgrace. What kind of a vet clinic offers a euthanasia service if they can't even have the decency to act with any bit of kindness? Unbelievable behaviour. You should all be ashamed and embarrassed.
If this is how you treat some of your clients at their most vulnerable moments, I will not be waiting around to find out how you will treat me and my family. I will never be returning and I'll be sure to let others know just how callous and heartless this clinic is.
Absolutely atrocious service was given to my mother by this clinic.
She has been taking our family pets here for 20 years, and when she made an appointment to euthanize our 14 year old family dog, she was given a date and time and agreed to it, only for you to call the next day and tell her you've moved the date and time to an earlier day "for her", like you were doing her a favour or something. She tried to tell you that her children wouldn't be able to make it that day, and she would have to drive there and back as a sobbing mess by herself, but you did not care, and even rudely hung up the phone on her, and wouldn't pick up when she tried calling back.
Is this what you call empathy? You know that euthanizing a family pet, especially one as old as this is extremely upsetting.
It would have been so easy for you to just be decent on the phone and resolve the issue like an adult. How dare you treat anyone like that and have the audacity to act like a child. You should be ashamed of yourself. These things should be handled with compassion and care, both of which you apparently lack.
We will never be taking another animal here. Which is a shame, because you have always been decent to us in the past.
Do better for your other clients. Nobody should have to deal with this situation, and it is entirely your fault. Unbelievable.
Have taken all of our animals to Ostrander Veterinary Clinic for over 10 years. Outstanding service and care from reception all the way up to the vets. Would highly recommend their care and expertise.
Knowledgeable staff and the vets know their stuff. I had my kitten fixed here, and she healed well with no issues or complications. Ostrander's prices for this service were more than reasonable. Microchipping was offered at the same time for somewhere around $25, so I opted to have that done too. They can be a bit busy, but it's worth the wait to get in to see them that initial time. Once you're a client they're always willing to help out with pet related questions or concerns.
I recently brought my pup in for the first time to Ostrander vet clinic and was so happy with the experience. We were greeted with happy faces and a very clean and efficiently run clinic. This is the first puppy we have had so I had a lot of questions. From the wonderful staff at the front desk, the staff that greeted us in our room and did our forms to the friendly and knowledgeable Vet Dr. Macy, I am so pleased! All of my questions were answered and the atmosphere was great! Very happy we are able come here!
Ostrander vet stood by our dog for 12 years. They are an exceptional vet clinic. Dr Julia our vet spent years helping our Kita with ongoing health issues. At the end of our journey Dr Julia was fantastic and compassionate. We trusted her with our kita. May Kita rest in peace and thankyou to all of Ostrander staff who cared about our girl and cared about our feelings. Dr Macy was fabulous on kitas last day here and so was Pam and Mary Lou. Thankyou to all!
I have been a client there for year's. The vet's take the time to talk thing's over about your pet with you if there are any concerns with them. All of the staff are friendly. It is a very busy clinic so you know the service's they provide are good. With everyone having to deal with Covid with strict restrictions at the start. Now with the restrictions toned down, we are doing curb side appointments with our pets. Sure it's nice to go in with our pets, let's just be a little more patient it's hard on everyone. I think the clinic has handled it well on serving their clients. I have lost two of my beloved pets during all this and I'm so great full that I was able to be with them at the end of their lives.
We always had good service. Very professional, but during the last 2 weeks of our girls life (which we didn’t know) took her in for a check up because we thought she was in pain. Keep in mind she was 15 years old. First of all they would not let me go in with her for the appointment because you could only go in if she was getting her annual shots. Complete BS. Then after blood work and X-rays I had to purchase medication because her kidneys were bad. Said it would help her prolong her life and help with pain. Over 500.00 spent. The next day medication was not agreeing with her so we had to stop. While she was laying on the couch beside me I just happened to rub her neck and she had a huge lump. Should they have not seen this? We had to put her down not too long after. Feel like I got swindled into spending money I did not need to spend. Very disappointed.
Don’t use this clinic. They don’t care. Proof is obvious, after 8yrs and a disagreement over the lack of treatment for my very sick 8yr old dogue de Bordeaux during an emergency visit I and my 3 dogs are no longer welcome here. Told to find a new clinic. Consider the upset and disappointment of being told …. Find a new clinic because I care too much about my babies. Poor doctors, to think my caring results in being banned from treatment. Pathetic really. Go anywhere but here. My very girl in question was a blood donor for this clinic and yet this is how she is treated….: FIND a NEW CLINIC
They were very companionate with my Nikoda its 1 of the best vets I dealt with in my life time. They treated him respect and honor. So thank you so much. Thank you for the card also.
