Ottawa Diamond Flooring

This is the second job Diamond Flooring has done for us, the first being the main floor in a condo over a decade ago and now the front entrance way and stairs in our house. Both times they were efficient and provided good service. This time we are especially happy how the stain matches the existing hardwood and railings. A big thumbs up from us.

Very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating staff - Rob knows a great deal about flooring and the products they offer, and gives very good advice about the various options available. They take seriously the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their customers. Brendan did an excellent job installing a large area of new tile floor, including identifying and fixing major deficiencies in the subfloor that would have caused headaches down the road. We have used them twice now for significant flooring replacement and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Just had my entire upstairs done, 4 bedrooms in hardwood and carpet in the hallway and on the stairs. I am extremely happy with the result. It looks awesome! Rob was very helpful in helping me choose the hardwood and carpet. The installers were great, a joy to have them work in my home. Will have them back to do my downstairs. Thank-you so much

We are very fortunate to have chosen Ottawa Diamond Flooring to replace the carpet on the entire second floor of our home with hardwood flooring.

We were initially impressed with the large selection of hardwood in a variety of colors that included traditional colors as well as the latest in home decorating trends. This contrasts with other stores that didn't offer a wide selection to allow us to coordinate with the existing colors in our decor. Many stores seemed to carry mainly trendy colors that can become dated.

Our salesman was very knowledgeable and very patient letting us consider our options at our leisure. We were permitted to bring samples on numerous occasions. His colleague covering for him on his days off was also very attentive even though this was not his own sale.

The first shipment of wood was defective as the planks had warped. The installers were very quick to observe and report the problem instead of simply ignoring the defects and installing a defective floor that could have been a nightmare to correct after the fact. This was greatly appreciated.

The second shipment was perfect and the installation was done expeditiously without any problems. The installers were very helpful, polite, dedicated, meticulous and proud of their work. They were very careful to minimize the dust and debris from spreading throughout the house as could potentially happen with a renovation of this size and they cleaned after their work was completed. The finished product is perfect and we are very happy customers.

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Ottawa Diamond Flooring and we have given them 5 stars!

I had Diamond Flooring install a new floor as part of a renovation I was largely doing myself. The installer came to my home to discuss the installation prior to the arrival of my hardwood flooring. He offered some great advice on how to deal with some of the dips in the subfloor and the transition to my new stairs.
A delay in the production of my new stairs during the pandemic lockdown meant that they were not in place the day the floor was to be installed so the installer suggested he complete the work in 2 phases. That worked out very well and I was very pleased with the end result.
Rob Martin was great to work with, he returned all my calls promptly and answered all my questions knowledgeably

Ok, if I can give this company zero star I will. Firstly my parent and I were monitoring the installation, they didn't like that and we had some opinions for the patterning of the hardwood. Then I stayed as they instructed not to interfere with the installation. I stayed on the first floor with my parent. Then the installation guy walked out and said another guy will come and do installation but the coordinator called and said the contract is over. They did not work with me and all they say is I warn u we will withdraw the contract. Their work is not good either. The guy hammered the hard wood too hard it splits and they didn't put wax paper for the first few rows. Pictures attached. My suggestion is DO NOT go with the company. The communication is bad the work is bad. Everything is bad. Fyi, this is the place that home Depot in Ottawa subcontracts to. If anything doesn't go well, home depot doesn't have any control and nobody will do the rest of the work. Bear in mind that the coordinator will say this is a one sided story. I will tell you if I take the time to comment here they did a bad job and I don't care who u trust. Something happened. STAY AWAY!

We had Ottawa Diamond Flooring do a makeover of our 35 year old carpeted staircase staining the woodwork to match our hardwood floors from the original oak stain. The crew was respectful of our home, arrived when promised and went over and beyond what we expected to ensure that the finishing was of the highest standard.

We bought our PG Model flooring from Diamond and we had a great experience. When we had specific questions the staff couldn’t answer, they called PG model on the spot to get the answer for us. They also price matched another retailer, provided a lot of information for installation (we did it ourselves), and always answered our phone calls. They called us to inform us of the exact delivery date, and even called a day before delivery as a reminder. Things went really smoothly when we picked up our flooring. We will definitely be returning there and a big thank you to Rob for his excellent customer service.

I ask the to come and do an estimate to refinish our floors. Really bad communication and the contractor had a really bad attitude. When the floors were sanded, it looked great but found some edges that were rough like sandpaper. They sanded the edges by hand but when they put finish on, it was patchy and showed all the roller marks and was rough and they said it was normal and blamed it on our house temperature. It obviously meant they didn't sand it good and didn't put enough coats of finish on the flooring. We waited years to do this floor and finally made the dive and now we regret ever doing it. I would not recommend the company. We don't even have that much flooring. Very disappointed

Went into Store, no one was there to serve me. Seems to have a lack of staff, and there wasn't alot of customers.

First of all, I want to start by saying Diamond flooring was refereed to us as the installer from Home Depot. We didn't have the choice who we wanted.

We have paid thousands of dollars upfront to this company for hardwood flooring. The initial estimate was completing wrong for most of the required parts. They kept nickle and dimming us at every opportunity. Example, they ordered the wrong underlay, wrong T-molding, extra underlay, extra hardwood, and 1/4 rounds. Guess what, I had to take it back to Home Depot only to be told there is a restocking fee. And guess who had to also order the right materials? ME.

We were promised by Home Depot when we purchased our hardwood in mid May, it would be installed on the first week of June. That didn't happen because the wood stayed in a warehouse for over a week because they forgot to contact us. Guess who had to setup the appointments and follow up, I did.

Now there are pieces of the floor not finished, the nosing piece was install by amateurs and it is bowing which caused the corner to crack about 3 inches inward. My stair railing was damaged during the install. Guess what happened when I followed up with them, nothing. Its been 2 weeks that I'm waiting for some kind of a response to their horrible work on the noising piece and to finish the renovation. Its been a month now to get one level installed (July). We paid more for the installation than the actual materials needed.

Simply put, they are a terrible company to deal with. None of the workers have any idea what supplies they have or don't have. They keep charging us for materials and ordering the wrong ones. Save your money and house from this company. They are great at harassing you to get the money and ignore you when the work needs to be done. I got called 3 times for the money but nothing when they damaged my house and left it uncompleted.

I would NEVER recommend this company.

A true professional company, they have always answered all my questions and provided guidance and suggestions before AND after.always a pleasure dealing with Shawn and his team and will definitely be purchasing more product from them for the next renovation we do.

I love this place. Even living in Toronto sometimes I drive to Ottawa to buy things with a better price and a bigger variety.

We contracted with Ottawa Diamond Flooring to do the bathroom floors in three bathrooms, as well as tile surrounds for two alcove bathtubs. The quality of the tile seems to be fine, but the installation, errors and lack of desire to fix problems would lead me to suggest you shop elsewhere.

Twice during our job, the installer that was supposed to work didn't show up. When he did, he didn't do a very good job, and it was taken down and redone by another of their installers. We thought the job was fine, until it was pointed out to us that they didn't even drill holes for the showerheads. An oversight, they said! Now, after tiles have cracked during a shower door installation, they are offering me the opportunity to pay more money for them to come back. Not happening.

I am not a big review writer, but I felt that every potential customer deserves to know who they might end up dealing with. We paid $9000.00 for our work.

Through Home Depot we hired Ottawa Diamond as the installer for our marble backsplash - Home Depot spoke very highly of the company. We were not disappointed as the installer, Shawn, was even better than described by Home Depot. He did not leave until the work was completed and done to his standards, which were at least as high as ours. He even arrived during a freezing rain event that took him at least an extra hour to navigate and then completed the job.
We are most impressed and would definitely use Ottawa Diamond again.
