Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic

I always receive efficient attention and service when visiting the Clinic. I would highly recommend Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic. My headaches and muscle/jaw tension are well under control and my physical and mental health has vastly improved. Every night I wear a dental mouth guard to help prevent grinding my teeth and tensing my muscles. The results did not occur overnight but in time and with patience - it worked out well.

I first want to say that customer service that I received at the Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic was exceptional. I myself personally have always taken pride in giving the best customer service to my clients. When I first stepped into the office I was welcomed by two amazing individuals. Elaine and Roy. So that really impressed me. They made me feel like a part of a family. Genuine and sincere. While I was waiting to see Dr. Dahan, I was welcomed in to the consultation room with an exceptional intake admin assistant, Crystal. Wow! Her energy and eagerness to get to the bottom of my pain was very refreshing. They made me feel like i was special and important. Then I got to meet Dr. Dahan. His professionalism, great knowledge and expertise was astounding. I believe that the mind, body, soul are all connected. I have had challenges with TMJ for years but this was the first time in my life that I am healing completely from this. Dr. Dahan treats the whole person not just the symptom. My jaw had cracked back in August of this year. I was led to the Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea clinic from my regular dentist. I came into the clinic in October with so much pain barely able to open my mouth. So with Dr. Dahan's recommendations my pain has subsided not just temporarily. He gave me some exercises that I do on a regular basis, along with the appliances he recommended and the Intramuscular injection. I agree totally with Dr. Dahan about healing the mind you heal the body. I have been on the journey of being the best version of myself and personal development. So when I met Dr. Dahan and his amazing staff my life got even better. I am a speaker and life coach so not being able to open my mouth to speak would have been detrimental. I read his amazing book "Heal your TMJ. " A book that will inspire and aid an individual on their journey to healing the whole person. It has been said that Knowledge is power. Knowledge is only power when it is applied. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dehan and all of the wonderful staff at TMJ. I felt so comfortable from the very first visit until my last visit recently. I have severe sleep apnea and have had many issues using a CPAP machine and so when I found out about the possibility of using a dental appliance I jumped at the opportunity. I purchased the appliance and started using it immediately. After 5 adjustments over the course of 10 weeks my apnea was brought way down to an acceptable level and I couldn’t be happier. I would highly recommended this course of treatment for anybody that has sleep apnea. The appliance is small and comfortable to wear. Perfect for anybody that travels as well. Thanks Dr. Dehan and a big shoutout to Crystal who was a big part of my treatment.

Went to the clinic b/c of hearing issues in my one ear, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, mouth opening limitations, chewing issues limited to one side, clicking and tight muscles at ear joints.only wore the appliance and DID THE EXERCISES Recommended for one month. My scores and measurement differences surpassed their expectations. I am amazed of the difference. Sure worth while to finally be feeling like I can have a better life. Awesome service, compassion and caring from all the staff too. Highly recommend.

This device has made me snore free. I would never have used a CPAP machine for very long if ever. I would highly recommend anyone one with grinding or snoring issues to check this out

My visits at The TMJ Clinic exceed expectations time and time again. The team is warm, knowledgeable, welcoming and professional in every way. Dr. Dahan combines exceptional skill and knowledge with a genuine interest in his patients and a sincere desire to improve their lives. His recent book "Heal Your TMJ", available at the clinic, reads just like speaking with him in the exam room, combining laugh-out-loud humour with sound lifestyle advice. The whole experience is simply a pleasure and with every visit I feel uplifted and more empowered to care for my health. My bruxism is well-managed and I know it will continue to be.

It was always a great experience coming to the clinic everyone was so nice and had a positive attitude. I had my jaw locked for almost 2 years and after being referred to Dr. Dahan my jaw was almost back to normal within 3 weeks and back to normal after a couple months, I no longer have to live with the pain I am so great full for him and his team.

I was able to find pain relief and range of motion in my jaw again within a short period of time thanks to Dr. Dahan and his team. Thank you!

Unfortunately this was a waste of money. After spending a ridiculous amount of money for a device (over $2000 for a mouth guard) to help my jaw, my teeth were taking a hit. Dr made adjustments twice but still couldn’t eat for several hours in the morning. I cancelled my last appointment and receptionist questioned why … I told her that I wasn’t going to pay over $100 for a 15 minute online appointment regarding a device that seems to be causing other problems in my mouth. (I wasn’t going to complain) She assured me that the Dr would very much like to know about this and will make it right. Never heard back. It’s been several months. Thought I could forget about it, but this just doesn’t sit well with me.
Gave 2 stars only because the receptionist and dr assistant were always very kind.

Dr. Dahan and his team have changed my life. I used to wake-up, exhausted with a thumping headache despite full nights of sleep. I tried the CPAP route but it was expensive, cumbersome, I was forever going to buy fresh jugs of distilled water and taking it on vacations was simply brutal. The sleep apnea appliance that Dr. Dahan made for me is light, fits in my pocket on trips (I carried it all around Europe), requires minimal cleaning and works BETTER than the CPAP. I sleep AMAZINGLY now. I have long dreams, I wake up feeling alive and ready to dance. I always thought people who had energy in the mornings were faking it. That's just life without sleep apnea.

Dr. Dahan is always happy to see you, has a great attitude and his customer service skills are unmatched. My dog got a hold of my appliance and wrecked it. I expected a big bill. The manufacturer wanted $2500 and Dr. Dahan went to bat for me and I only had to pay $300. Above and beyond the call of duty.

I regularly train Jiujitsu and Muay Thai. Dr. Dahan made me a great sports mouth guard as well. People at my dojo have envied the quality of my sports guard compared to the ones you get at Canadian Tire or online that they use.

One member of his team, Crystal, remembers everything about you and gets super excited every time you have a positive update for them. I told her I had a friend who had been waiting over a year to get help with Sleep Apnea and Crystal was very eager to help my friend get setup and provided lots of helpful information through the both the CPAP and appliance routes. '

I'd recommend Dr. Dahan to anyone struggling with Sleep Apnea or that wants a more comfortable mouth piece during their favourite sport. I don't actually know what TMJ is but I suspect he'd be awesome at that part of his practice too.

The staff here is incredible. The TMJ appliance and injections have changed my day to day life. No more headaches. The tension in my jaw and face is almost completely gone, and I've regained so much jaw mobility.

It is expensive because my benefits didn't cover anything, but it was worth it. I recommend seeing Dr Haissam and his team.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dahan and his team for a little over a year. Today I just had to ask how it is Dr. Dahan hires the most friendly, helpful staff around. Not only is Dr. Dahan himself very knowledgeable and caring, but his staff makes you feel like family the moment you step through the door. Dr. Dahan explains everything in just enough detail that you aren't overwhelmed and his staff goes over it with you again before you leave. The icing on the cake, really, is that the treatment he provided to me has been of immense help. In my case I needed just one more step beyond the night appliance, but he presented me with options, was upfront about costs and thanks to his guidance, I was able to find the appropriate solution to get me to where I needed to be.

Ottawa TMJ is all that and a bag of chips. If you need help, don't be afraid to come here. You will honestly be in the best group of hands out there.

Dr Dahan has assembled an excellent team at his practice. When I showed up for my appointments, I was always greeted by name and never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Dr Dahan clearly explained my treatment options, how to increase my chances for success and answered every question in great detail. Dr Dahan and his team truly care about their patients, even remembering little details I'd shared about me across appointments.

Great staff with a very useful specialization in identifying and effectively treating many issues related to chronic pain. Only giving 4 stars because it is very expensive and most of the treatments are not covered by any insurance company, and therefore out of reach for many. That being said, investing in the right expertise to at least diagnose the problem can go a long way to improving quality of life and preventing major issues down the road.

Great experience and compassionate staff. I was sceptical at first but was willing to to try anything to get rid of my TMJ pain. After a week with my new appliance and Botox I felt so much relief. Now after 2 months the TMJ is under control. His book was also very helpful you need to read it and follow the recommendations. The sooner you start treatment the sooner you will feel relief from this type of pain and get back to a normal life. Last year at this time I was suffering while being a snowbird in Florida on Celebrex and other drugs and today I am enjoying the sun, visiting bars and smiling and laughing with no drugs and sleeping like a baby. Would highly recommend Dr Dahan, his book and this treatment. It works and there is no other solution in Ottawa that will give you relief. Trust me it works. As I write this I have zero pain.

More importantly, the treatment worked. He and I now have a drug free, Breathing apparatus free, headache free means to a good sleep for the rest of my life. This is a must stop shop for anyone looking into sleeping issues.

This clinic is nothing but a scam. They will speak to you as if they really are going to help you but that’s not true as the fact is they just want your money. They will charge you $1800 for their appliance that doesn’t even work as you will have to go again and again to have it fixed and each time they will charge you $250 as they will call those follow up appointments. I went there last summer as I really needed help. Joy at the front desk spoke to me as if she really cared but boy I was wrong. They gave their appliance I paid $1800 thought this would really work but in 2 days I had to go back as appliance didn’t fit right and then they told me well this would be a follow up appointment so I would have to pay $250 and I was like my follow up appointment should be in 3-4 weeks and then Joy was like no because you’re coming for appliance fitting this would be considered as a follow up appointment. Such a scam. At the end of the day their appliance didn’t even work as I had to find a good dentist and they made me an appliance that actually worked. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Just save your money guys. This place and the whole staff is 100% scam!
