Otto’s Berlin Döner

First time for me. I was out walking with and suggested a snack. They suggested Otto’s. I had the bratwurst and fries. The fries were thin and very good. The bratwurst was thin and firm and little dry inside sadly. The curry ketchup was a delight. Service wad very goid and friendly and attentive.

Found this cute place in Kensington Market. I ordered the vegan Doner with the garlic sauce and was not disappointed! The great service was also a plus. Will definitely come back here.

Whenever I'm in the area I always make it a point to go here. The Döners are always amazing and I am absolutely hooked. It's also nice that they sell Köstritzer beers as well. A great combo and I highly recommend.

Dropped to two stars because it's definitely no longer as good as it was. The meat is so overcooked it's burnt. It just has no flavor and it isn't a pleasant eating experience. Keeping at two stars simply because of the halloumi options which I think more places should have.

Good spot for a unique eat. Highly recommend the halloumi, and as many other posters have stated the food is very fresh and flavourful. My favourite is the chicken teller mixed with halloumi, salad and couscous:) my only recommendation would be more vegetables on top of the Doners/Tellers.

This has nothing to do with Berlin Döner. Not cut off the skewer but fried in the pan. No recommendation for taste either.

A slightly less greasy take on the German doner (still fairly heavy though). Good beer and friendly service.

Overall, I enjoyed the donair I had and it was similar to what I have had in Berlin, albeit this donair was smaller and had fewer ingredients. The donair was tasty though and the Paulaner lager was a good accompaniment. I thought it was expensive for what I had.

This is probably the worst value I've gotten out of buying a meal in Toronto in my life. I got the chicken teller, small, it cost me $16, and ended up being just a box of greasy fries with wisps of chicken and a sauce drizzled on. The meal was salted in such a way to seem tasty (including possibly MSG), but it was to a harmful degree and the meal had almost zero nutritional value apart from calories. The amount of chicken in the meal ended up being less than a quarter cup (35g, 1.5oz), which is not even a third of what you expect for a dinner at the price point.

It's unbelievable how this company chooses to squeeze every last penny out of their food costs and clearly don't actually care about delivering good food as a service. Perhaps I should have gotten the sandwich and at least benefited from a slice of tomato or a cucumber. In a rush, I made a mistake in going there, and I will never go there again.

We ordered in Otto's Berlin Döner through Uber Eats. One of the chicken döners had what looks to be a piece of plastic (pictured). Uber Eats refused to refund the order. I attempted to contact the restaurant through their Instagram account. They read my message but did not reply. Clearly they don't care about food safety or customer service. I was at least expecting an apology and not to be left on read. Recommend staying away from this restaurant!

Great döner place! Very authentic and tastes exactly like the chicken döner in Germany! I recommend this place to all my friends whenever in Toronto

Really flavorful food that is great to walk with and eat. I wish the hot sauce was a bit spicier though.

Best doner in town, by far. Everything is so tasty, including the bread. Pregnant women beware: the doner was so good that baby came out the same day to grab a bite

The best doner in town, plus a selection of fabulous unique drinks to go with it. Great place to work or socialize with friends. Has free internet and a vibrant and social vibe.

Doners were packed full. Tasty, but way to much salt! The chicken was dripping with grease, the beef doner was not.

As a German who hasn't been back home in a while, going for a Döner anywhere in Canada is usually at least a tiny bit disappointing - this time it wasn't! Great spot and a Döner that can keep up with the food from home, lovely spot to sit down and enjoy busy Kensington market with good food and a cold beer. Portions are great, flavors are great (for a good Döner is all in the sauce and it's a good one). Definitely recommend to check this place out even if you never had a Döner - think Halifax donair.but crunchy bread and more veggies/salad and just like. BETTER (sorry but Canadians I know who had this - grudgingly - agree as well so. Go try it!)

Not bad. You can add a lot of sauces to add your order. Waitress served ours orders falsely. I enjoyed though.

First time I went there the food was great. Tonight they put absolutely no sauce in the sandwich. Tried to go back but they already closed and wouldn't even talk to me. Very disappointed, not coming back. It sucks that they have the most expensive doner in GTA and keep clients like that.

Happy to have a German Doner in downtown! Both chicken and lamb doners taste amazing! The store looks old-fashioned and is not spacious but the taste of the food is superb. I especially liked the chicken doner with a mixture of tasty spices. The portions are relatively small and the fries were deeply deeply fried. Will come back and update my review later,

The place offers a nice range of fresh food. I enjoy dining here. Staff members are always kind, prices are affordable and the spot is always neat.

This place is good! Affordable prices, large portions and the employees are constantly super friendly.

Shawarma on steroids. This is so freaking legit. I had walked by it many times and I was very happy after finally trying it. If you were on the fence, try it next time.

Taste is not near to what they are charging for Doner Sandwich, Meat was soggy, vegetables weren't fresh, will never order again from this place.

All my order with you guys have always been cold and tasted average. Loved going inside and eating fresh but obviously with covid its difficult.

Its super dissapointing and all my friends have said the same and mentioned they will stop ordering from you guys.

Its already a rip off to do the delivery with the charges, if the food is going to be cold and tasteless its a waste of money.

Probably my last order and will not come once its reopened.

Meat taste was three out of five. Texture of the meat seemed more ground up than actual doner. Was really disappointed.
Price very expensive, paid $14 for one sandwich and only came with a very scant amount of meat.
Vegetables were nice and fresh and I like the bread. Sauces weren't bad but not really flavorful either. For the price I will definitely take my money elsewhere next time. If the sandwich was seven or eight dollars, I'd probably give them a four stars but the price point is just super unrealistic here.

I ordered Large chicken teller. So disappointing. The box was full of French fries with little pieces of chiken. Even the color of the fries were dark brown, almost black. They don't use fresh oil.

Will + Forever be my fave take and go place in the city. Doner Teller (Halloumi, half fries + half salad, all sauces)

I haven’t had a doner in years and my friend recommended we go here when we were walking in Kensington. I got the chicken ($13) and my friend got the halloumi since he’s vegetarian. Took about 10 minutes for them to prepare it. It was great, perfect to eat outside in the park, would order again!

Today was our first time at Otto’s Berlin Doner! We were blown away! The food is absolutely delicious, especially accompanied by German beer. Thank you! We will be back!

Would not recommend. Bought the lamb and veal doner. Lots of not-so-fresh vegetables and little meat unevenly distributed in the sandwich. The sausage and currywurst was flavorless. Lentil soup was okay but not great. The worst was the fries.they were cold, crunchy and almost seemed stale. We couldn't bring ourselves to finish them despite being hungry. Try Ziba's Berlin Doner instead!

Nice kebab from Europe, room little bit poor decor, and kebab is too small - especial referring to price. Anyway - recommended.

I don’t like the donairs here, but the bratwurst was the best I’ve ever had outside of Germany and the halloumi sticks are a must try.

I am german and really like the doener and curry wurst here! Not 100% authentic but quite close to the original! My favorite item are the halloumi sticks.

The food was delicious and all the ingredients tasted fresh. The price is fair and the place has a nice, cozy atmosphere.

This place started pretty good but the last 2 times I've been there the food is just getting worst. Last week I ordered a box with couscous and chicken and man, that was horrendous. The couscous wasn't fresh at all, not loosen and top of that served cold; the chicken was almost non-existen, hardly a few pieces. Extremely disappointing to see a place that try to impress when first open but then just don't care to continue with a good job.

The food is tasty. I tried the currywurst. Sausage was good and there were a lot of fries with it. However, the cashier was very rude and it changed my whole experience at this diner. I wanted to know what a "Teller" was and she spoke to me in a very bold and rude way. If it weren't for my friends, i would've left immediately!

Fresh food. Good German beer.

I spent a year in Germany and fell in love with Currywurst street food. I was super excited when I saw that this place served currywurst. The order too a while (15 min), maybe because they were very busy, however it was worth the wait. It was delicious. Also I didn't get a donee, but the one somone else ordered looked amazing. I highly recommend this place. Not the cheapest place for doner/gyro/schwarma, but definite a good price for the quality.

All veggies were fresh! The quality and quantity were superb! Nice cozy place with music. Gonna go out and say it, probably the best in the city.

I've had my fair share of shawarmas and doners (greek-style) but this German doner experience was beyond expectations. The ingredients were fresh and the menu was simplistic and easy to navigate. The establishment is nice and bright and the servers/counter staff are attentive and efficient. There is plenty of seating, both inside and outside (great for a summer lunch) and for people-watching in Kensington. Highly recommend the teller box and the doner (the bread was un-real!) with both chicken and the veal/lamb mixture. Wish the teller box included more meat for the price, but minor. They had a watermelon lime slushie offering for the summer on a side board, that was average tasting. Will be back again when the doner craving hits, because it will.

Really good experience! Even though you know being at Kensington means good food all around, but the taste still surprises you. The chicken box was very healthy if you order with salad. Still tasted very good! I also ordered watermelon lemonade, it was very refreshing for a hot summer day.

I didn't enjoy with my full of chips and little bit meat (I can't call it as doner) portion and it is overprice as if it was a good food. I just can't believe how the place has over 4 points.

This is a nice comfortable place. Small, but nice. The food is great. The staff is great! Busy because it's good food.and the BEER IS AWESOME! If you like German beer and fast German food, it's worth the drive. I love the location and love to have a nice cold one on the patio whit a GREAT döner, look around at the diversity and cultures. It's just a really cool place! I don't say this often.but.its a must go if you are or are not in the area.) Danke!

Loved it! I discovered this place through a friend and I'm very pleased to say their food is very good, very tasty and the portions are huge. I ordered, I wont even try to say it in German, the veggie box with fries as my base and chicken for protein. You also have the choice of salad or couscous as a base! I'll be back:)

Love the food and the style. Small space though. Don't recommend sitting for food there if you're with a group since it's usually crowded. There's literally 4 tables with 4 seats each and a couple of high chairs. Also double check your order multiple times! It happened twice where I ordered a doner without hot sauce only to get it super spicy.

The food is absolutely delicious that caters for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Their beer selection is decent to pair with the food menu they have. Just hope that they could replace/ repair the old stools they have because one day some unlucky customer will fall on the floor. It's really wobbly and the legs of them would not be able to carry any
weight whatsoever.

Always a good vibe, great veggie options to mix and match, nice non-alcoholic beverages like cult fave Club Mate and kombucha. Nice patio as well:)

Great fresh addition to the ethnic food scene in kensington. Highly recommend the halloumi, and as many other posters have stated the food is very fresh and flavourful. Only downside is they sometimes run out of bread on busy days (for the doner)

The Döner is pretty good, but claiming that it's a German dish is misleading and wrong (see Wikipedia reference below). The staff is also quite rude and unprofessional. I felt like I was served by a 3 year old lady who does not have any manners (the other staff is overall nice, but the lady with short black hair who was working last weekend was extremely rude and unprofessional). Would I recommend this place? Certainly yes, but don't expect to receive good service since there is none. Enjoy your Turkish doner in a Berlin style.:)

Had the veal and lamb doner. Quite delicious and a great sized portion. The fries are incredible. I would come back just for those. Club mate is an interesting drink. If you like iced tea you'll enjoy it. The wait was quite long for it to be a practical lunch choice however, we were told they just started using a new system and it wasn't normally that busy for a Tuesday. Will definitely be back.
