Fun rink, easy to access and big area to skate. Food available! Rentals available. Lots of sitting/benches throughout. Also not super packed so it's comfortable and easy to park.

Kids best place ever, they enjoy playing skate, football, scooters, and relaxing with this charming nature. A place where you have real fun and relaxation.

Such a great view to enjoy while you skate! Definitely recommend renting a pair for $10 and have a good time!

Amazing place to experience good clean fun for every age group. Beautiful setting in the bay area makes this venue well worth checking out. Many people come just to watch the skaters!

Try to find times when it's not too busy. Great location attached to Williams coffee and close to James St. Restaurants. Nice rink.

Typically a fun skate, but the ice was not cleared of several inches of snow and slush on family day, despite skate rentals being open which was disappointing. Not sure where the Zamboni was.

What an absolute wonderful place to skate. Super convenient, with both free parking and Williams coffee shop right next to the rink. Great staff taking care of the rink, with music and wind barriers. Great view - loved it!

Had fun with friends however few things as some constructive feedback. If you are collecting IDs in exchange for skates please don't have the young lady just drop them in a huge pile in front of the window. Makes it too easy for someone to steal them.or see the info of other people. It should be put somone where out of public view or reach.

Also I had to exchange my skates as they were not sharp at all and were actually dangerous when input in the first pair. The young people who work there were cordial but not very informative.

It's not a career job, and I'm sure it pays minimum wage which I can understand attributes to the *I'd rather be doing anything else* air about them. However it would be nice to ask a question about the rink, the skates or the area and get more than an I don't know or a made up answer that is actually false information.

A great place to skate in Hamilton they also rent skates. The restaurant will be open again soon. They have outside snacks drinks and great music.lots of benches to put skates on. Dress warm your on the water

Pier 8 is always a fantastic place to spend a night skating with friends and family. Music was great tonight.

I have skated 30 kms, and then 35 kms this week.

Quite disappointed with the poor system the city has put in place for the rink's new covid restrictions. Me and my girlfriend had just made the 25 person cap off while in line for the last time slot. After 30 minutes of waiting we watched a group cut in line to meet with friends which bumped me and my girlfriend, plus the family in front of us from the cut off number. Management really needs to be put in place to make sure cutting in line is not possible.

Was excited to go skating for the first time at this rink, however we arrived at 10pm right on the cutoff line apparently. The security guy that was working would not let us on the ice even though we arrived at 10pm. Pretty disappointing with the service considering we had to drive 30 minutes to get here. Will not be coming back.

25 people capacity due to covid.seems like too little of a number considering how large the rink is and that it is outdoors and that masks are required. 25 people also includes people who aren’t even skating! Not fair for those who actually want to skate and get turned away.a reservation system would have been nice

We've been going to this rink for several years. It has always been a nice place to go during winter. Now with Covid-19 restrictions there is more planning involved before heading there but still nice.

Had an amazing time skating at the Pier. I've been looking forward to it for years and it did not disappoint.

Open all the time during the Winter, and its free! Unfortunately, rentals are only available after 5 I believe.

Great free rink for a fun winter outing. Williams cafe is so accommodating with rubber mat floors so you can come in with your skates and take a break.

It's a nice spot for a leisurely skate. The one negative was that the zamboni guy took half an hour to do the ice. What a waste of time.

What a fun place for the family.we had 4 generations there.me, my son, my grandson's and great grandson.was enjoyable and great at Williams as well.

Everything is great (the location, it’s free) except for the ice! The zamboni has no water coming out so the ice is all bumpy and covered in snow ‍️

I would have given it a 5 star if the ice was cleaned and not so chippy. I gave it a 4 star because the benches, seats, indoor seats and lights were so nice. The best part was skating along the waterfront view!

It would be nice if they could flood the ice for the people who come to play hockey after hours. There’s a large amount of people who come to play here because it’s one of the only outdoor rinks and majority of the time the ice is horrible and not easy to play on.

I personally cannot skate here because there are no railings around the rink to help you stop, but it's still fun to go watch people. Experienced skaters would have a good time. Good old school music

The outdoor rink was well maintained. We have only visited in the winter on a weekend. Though each visit had many patrons, we always found a place to sit, get ready and room on the ice.

I am not a skater but the parking is good and free for a walk or a sail or a visit to the cafe or food stand.

Lots of fun to be had here. There’s classic music spun by a DJ at the rink in the evening twice a week to enjoy while you skate. You can go have a beverage and a meal at Williams Cafe or ice cream at the ice cream parlour. There’s also a snack bar to enjoy some treats. Roller skate rental is available for a small cost. On the busy nights there’s someone on the rink to ensure people stay safe and don’t act reckless.

We visited for Salsa night. Tuesday evenings during the summer. Had a free lesson and had fun dancing after. Parking may be difficult.

Roller skating in Summer and ice skating in Winter. Concert venue adjacent with Hamilton Harbor/Burlington Bay as the backdrop. Lots of other things to do at the pier, take a boat tour on the Hamiltonian or take the trolley tour all the way around the Harbor.

A unique opportunity to rollerskate outdoors by the water in Hamilton. Nice vibe! Rentals are available. First time there and will definitely be back.

The warming area is a little overcrowded and if there was some sort of locker or storage rental for bags and whatnot would make the experience ideal.

Beautiful! Love to come here with friends to skate or just hang out! It has lights and cool decorations. The ice is always frozen as well.

Had so much fun. I love the fact that you can rent skates here, I don't know anywhere else in Hamilton that does that. Rink os outdoors and is not huge but still a good size, not super busy and had lots of fun. Zamboni comes and cleans the ice regularly and staff were super friendly. Theres a cafe right beside it where you can store your shoes and items under the tables (at your own risk of course) and to warm up or take a break, big windows so you can sit and still see the rink. Benches are placed around the rink as well. I would definitely recommend coming here and I definitely will he coming back. Only "con" is the ice is not supervised by any staff so use at your own risk and please don't break the rules but some people do and theres not much you can do. Still a gem and will definitely go again!

Small outdoor rink. Rough ice (now they have a zamboni!). Great spot for dates and light food. Seems to always be improving.

Free skating, and rentals available if needed. Williams Coffee is right there if you get hungry or thirsty, or just need to come in from the cold. Parking is free.

Loved it I went skating for the first time in 38years! Yes you heard right that's a long time but it was well worth getting out and doing some exciting exercising. It's well worth going even if you just want to go for great food and drinks!

Best place to learn or just get a skate in. Nice and empty from 9am-11am on weekends. Beautiful scenery while u skate. Williams cafe connected inside for all your dietary needs!
