P B's Fish & Chips

Love supporting this place even with the new owners, but the Cajun poutine doesn’t taste like it used to. Loved coming back to the same taste as remembered from elementary school. Rushing down at lunch with just enough time to enjoy, then hurry back with full bellies!
Still love the poutines don’t get me wrong. Bring back the flavour!

Everytime I call and place a pick up order. The owner always messes up and makes it wrong every single time. I don't get it? He repeat the order back to me to confirm and still makes it wrong. It's not complicated. One regular poutine one Cajun poutine, this has happened a few times now. Twice I went back to get it fixed. I won't be going back if he's working.

This place is so small you'll miss it if you blink. Their menu is enormously delicious though. Just a fantastic fish & chips place with a menu that can suit almost anyone's taste.

I went around lunch time thinking there will be a line up. Only one person ahead of me which surprised me. The fish and chips were awful. The fish was mushy and I had the halibut. I ate half of it before I threw the rest in the garbage. It makes since now why there wasn't a line up. And the price! I will never buy from there again.

I love this place, came here for lunch in elemantary school often with my friends and i continue to go for their poutine.

Just ordered for the first time since the new owners have taken over was wondering if it was still the same the French fries and the gravy were amazing but the halibut that I ordered was definitely not halibut it was something else it was so fishy it was nasty it wasn't even the right size so disappointed will never order again

Not impressed at all. Called ahead to place an order and the girl on the phone told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. We got there within 15 minutes and the food wasn't ready for another 35 after that. As myself (8.5 months pregnat), my husband and our 2 year old son patiently waited in the pick up area not once were we apologized to, kept in the loop as to how long it would be or even acknowledged. We don't mind waiting but we wouldn't have rushed over with our toddler who hadn't eaten yet if we knew it would be 45 minutes longer than we were told it would be.

Good spot but I ordered 60$ worth of fish and got no tartar sauce. I should have asked but I got caught assuming. I literally went back to the grocery store just to get some. Good Halibut but gotta give us tartar sauce!

Very disappointing, just over $18 for an order of halibut & chips, extremely greasy and fish was very small and thin, fries should have been cooked longer, definitely will not return

Bye my lunch today fish all want in garbage Was smell so bad I don’t know how long they keep and sell rotten fish on people!

I used to love this place. Unfortunately, the new owners are scam artists. Just ordered 3 Halibut 1 chip received some white fish instead. I went back to get the proper order and received some random white fish again. I know the difference!
Please do NOT order food from this place.

That's hilarious. Your food is poor quality so don't get mad at me. Obviously you don't know fish. How about do some research before you buy a business. Do better.

This used to be our go to for our fish and chip order for the last 20 years. I went this evening to place an order of a single haddock and chips and the young girl behind the counter didn't understand my order. A young man then took over. I took it home and was very disappointed. The fish was a bit undercooked and small, the chips were very dark and looked overcooked but actually were undercooked and very greasy! Very disappointed, will not be returning, need to find a new spot.

Very small portions of fish lots of fries. Decent fish taste nothing special. Go to church hills. More value for your dollar.

Ordered delivery of a family pack. The food was delivered fast. Excellently made. I definitely will order again. I'm still stuffed.

The most awesome fish and chips in Oshawa. Support your local small businesses. This was our go to for many years and we were happy to know they were open later than usual on Christmas Eve. The haddock and chips were amazing and portions were substantial. Added bonus is the loyalty card for free chips after purchase of 6 fish and chip meals. As a family of 5, we'll be able to take advantage of that easily.

Im so torn on how to rate this restaurant. The poutine was awesome, tons of gravy and curd and huge. Unfortunately, that single piece of fish was $12. It was incredibly tiny and soooo thin. The taste was really nice but we couldn't help but feel really ripped off. There was barely any fish for $12. Way better places to go for fish. If you just want poutine, this place is nice.

I came here today, but I was hesitate to go because of the reviews. I wanted to help support local business especially because of the pandemic. The staff members were very polite and were very helpful, they repeated my order a couple of times and gave me great suggestions for food options. I got the fish and chips, and a small poutine. The food was very tasteful, and I do agree that the fish is a little salty. The poutine did not disappoint and was loaded with gravy and cheese. I would definitely recommend!

At one time this place had awesome fish&chips, sorry to say don't waste your money here go somewhere else, Horrible food!

Came here on November 8th, and the food was amazing I brought there family pack of halibut and my whole family smiling. They’re very polite and very helpful with choosing what food that would best suit my situation, their service was fast and they asked if I needed any additional sauces. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a nice serving of fish and chips. Definitely will be bring my family here again!

First trip back here since the days when Peter and Bobbie owned it. It looks like the guy who bought it from them has now sold it to new owners.

Peter would drizzle a Cajun sauce over the poutine. Today I saw the cook dousing it with Cajun powder from an industrial sized container. The result was a gawd awful poutine. Ate about a third and tossed the rest.

Had to laugh that extra tartar sauce packages are 25 cents.

To much salt - besides that - 20.00 for a single piece of FISH. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Ever since NEW MANAGEMENT- THE PRICES HAVE GONE CRAZY AND THE SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN HILL.

Can I get fish with my batter. Absolutely ridiculous smallest thinnest piece of halibut I've ever had from any fish and chip place in my life. So disappointed!

Absolutely disgusting what the new owners have done to PB's and how they started treating the employees now. Had the pleasure of hearing about a screaming match between employees and these new owners. They also publically have been calling their customers names on Facebook over reviews just like this. I don't expect this to be public long before they remove it (just like all the others) so spread the word to everyone you know, just like many have already! It's sad to see PB's go out this way.

My favourite Fish n' Chips! I have never had a bad order from here, and their gravy is must have add on.

They are the best place to get a poutine. The size is amazing. They also have the best staff I have ever talked to and ordered from. If you visit or live in oshawa this place is a restaurant you must try. And go back to!

Nice food, the young blonde girl that works there hates you and your life before you even walk in. They are currently trying to fight off Kung-Flu with closing off the seating area.

Foods good. Poutine had a bit of fish flavour.it was definitely a new taste. Some of the potatos were unfortunately a bit undercooked.

The single best chips on earth. Hadn't been in for a couple years. Have the Cajun poutine. A medium will attempt to kill you with comforting stomach stuffing goodness. I felt like a teen, learning to smoke and hanging out at the store with my buds again. So very will be back.mmmmmmmmmmm

I’ve been here a couple times and the food is decent. Staff is incredible, fast and efficient. Alicia (I believe her name was) is very knowledgble and seems to have a great grasp of what’s going on while busy and prioritizing customers/orders. Great team leader! She deserves a raise!

Honestly perfect classic fish and chips, my only issue is why use kraft tartar sauce instead of the usual packets you get at fish n chips places. It doesn't taste nearly as good.

PB's used to be the best fish and chip place in Oshawa. The fish is absolutely awesome. However, they changed their french fries and they are not good. This is the second time that I have been given an order with french fries that are not good (I am being polite) so now I am looking for a new fish and chip place; unless they change their french fries.

The food was great. My wife found it to be on the greasy side, but that could have been because it was so busy as it was Good Friday. I had some cod and some halibut. Both were good. The batter was nice and light. The fries were great. Home cut and well prepared.

I suggest that you give it a try.

Best Fish & Chips in Durham Region. Owners and staff are very friendly and never forget a face. Keep up the great work folks.

Good food, nice staff, its definitley not as good as it used to be, but that doesnt make it any less better.

One of my favourite poutine places. The gravy and cheese curds go all the way through - so you aren't left with a pile of fries at the end. Also, with the crumbs sprinkled on top. YUM!

Pick up Fish n chips, poutine etc. Good portions, good service. Clean space, pleasant servers. Made in front of you so always fresh and hot.
