Paint Department - Benjamin Moore

Warning: if you are queer or trans do not go here. Owner is extremely rude. He misgendered me and I politely told him it is better to not assume people’s pronouns and I am not a she and use they/them pronouns. He was extremely confused and defensive and not willing to learn. He ended up raising his voice with me when I told him he needs to be more willing to learn as a business owner about other demographics and how to respect them. He told me at least he didn’t kick me out and he just doesn’t know “that stuff”. Keep in mind this was all with a raised voice and defensive tone.
Extremely uncomfortable and exhausting to have to to have to teach people basics as a trans person. Business owners in Toronto need to do better. If you make a mistake, that’s not a big deal, just be open to learning
