Pak Foods

Normally I don’t provide reviews but this time my experience was so bad that I have to write this review. If there was an option to give zero that would be my preferred choice.

So far, I have been a loyal customer of Pak Foods Milton but recently decided to stop going to this place as I had a bad experience.

Along with other usual stuff, I purchased a packet of Pani Puri on Christmas Day. While opening the packet at home, I realised that the packet was already open and a really bad smell was coming from the box. I was really disappointed as I have guests at home and prepared special Chutneys and chick peas for it. I have to discard the box and throw away all the chutneys and chick peas prepared for pani puri. Few days later, I went back to the store and tell them about the incident, but without any regrets, they took it very casually and asked me to bring back the box so that they can inform the supplier. I am not there to help them streamline their supplier issues. They are making money on the stuff which they are getting from supplier so they are equally responsible.

They did not believe me without the “evidence“.

Later, I found out that due to the long weekend, the garbage was not picked up routinely and the box was still in the waste bin.

Today, I took the box to the store and showed then both the receipt and the box. After smelling and confirming that it was actually bad they simply offered me the refund which I didn’t accepted.

I already have enough bad experience that they were treating it as a very normal occurrence. That’s why I decided that I will avoid this place from now on.

While posting this review, I looked into the other bad reviews and noticed that they have similarly issues earlier too like selling bread that has gone bad and have mold in it and the on-going customer service issues.

In the end, I would say that they lost a loyal customer as they are providing food that has gone bad to the community and playing withe peoples health.

Excellent variety and stock always, very clean, butchers also do a great job. My go-to store for almost all grocery needs.

Customer service is not great. They don’t care to call the next person in line, they’ll call the person with fewer items. This happened after ALREADY talking to their manager about being rushed at the till while I packed my groceries in the bags. So disappointing! They don’t know anything about customer service but then they’re put in these positions to deal with people. I would love to meet the owner to share with them my experiences as a customer and I’ll even give them free tips on how to improve their customers’ experiences. Training is much needed for these women who work the registers.

Ever since this place expanding the meat counter it's been my goto for other cuts of meat. They always accomate me and if they don't have a cut I am looking for can usually order me the cut within a day or so. This is my goto spot for brisket, top butt or steaks!

These people sell one or two days old samosas and sweets from Bismillah sweets in Mississauga. In the beginning, samosas used to be fresh but now they are always a day or two old. This is extremely disappointing they should only have fresh items for sale.

I am changing 5 star to 2 star just because day by day thier customer service is going very low. They literally don't want to hear us. I has 2 bad experiences with workers I think we are not going there anymore unless it's something urgent.

Best marinated steaks, minced meat, fish, chicken and lots of other variety of marinated chicken and meat.top quality of juicy Pakistani Kinno, Guavas and seasonal fruits.so yummmyyyyy. Thankyou so much.

Never had a bad experience in the store but it’s chaotic. Unless you are a regular customer you won’t find things easily. A little more organization is needed. They need to add more cash registers as well, the lines get too long sometimes.

Experience was ok but the store needs a little more work done to it. My mother and I came here to buy chicken from their meat section. The problem was that we took a number from their machine to wait our turn but the number that said who they were serving was wrong. The man was confused as to who he needs to serve first which caused delays for people. The workers need to keep on top of who they need to serve so people can get on with their day. However everyone was nice and friendly.

Very bad customer service, specially at the check out. They (it’s the people at check out, not the store itself) are bringing bad names to Pakistan. Will try to avoid going there.

Update: I have reluctantly returned to the place last week, and I was pleased to see attempts for improvement.
I will visit again soon and hope to change my review ratings.
Once again, when an establishment claims to represent a culture, it becomes their responsibility to stay true to it. I know Pakistan and it’s culture of hospitality. I will expect high standards.

This grocery store is owned and run by Pakistani people all Pakistani groceries, halal meat, and other paraphernalia is available under one roof in a Pakistani style, though it is a small store but yet gives the feels of Pakistani store for all the Pakistani and other local communities, looking for halal eatables.

This store suppose to be my favorite store for all the desi stuff from vegetables to meat to all masalas etc.but on my last visit when I was at meat counter I checked few boxes of Maple lodge which I don't understand as this store advertise that they sell 100% halal hand slaughter but the maple ones are machine slaughter. I am so confused now.

They have a great selection and seem to be relatively clean in meat department, but smelled a bit the last time I went. What I can say though is that they are very slow everytime I go there. Also I don’t understand why the meat counter closes earlier that the store. On top of that the one time I went there the butcher was really rude to me and just let me stand there for 10 minutes occasionally looking at me, he passed by and opened one of the displays to turn off the light which I realized after what he was doing. It wasn’t until after the other employee working there came to ask me what I needed and the butcher man said we close at whatever time they close and it was still 10-15 before that time. There was a clock right there. He made me feel awful and gave me the worst looks. I won’t be going back to buy meat there again. Do not want to go through that experience again.

Great place to get all your Pakistani snacks, spices, vegetables and sweets. The meat section is clean, the people are friendly and the meat is fresh!

I bought Bismillah sweets that they have displayed at their counter. They were not fresh and seems like they do not regularly discard the old ones
We ended up with diarrhea and stomach ache. Hope they start replacing old mithai with fresh one.

Good grocery & meat shop, price are okay person on the meat shop is great very helpful and patient.

Now that they have expanded the store, they still need to bring decent vegetable section, flour choices, rice collection, and snacks. Looking forward to improved look.

This is a nice place to do shopping for daily fresh vegetables, spices, dairy products and meat. Today I noticed a little bit concession within the store because of some renovation at the back. Hope after renovation this place will be more spacious. Point to note is that they take meat orders over the phone which saves time for the shoppers. I tried meat from various places but in my opinion Pak Food's meat quality is the best.

This is one of my favt desi store in milton, but they really disappointed me, bought mangoes for 34.99 (box of 6) and none of them is ripped or even sweet.
They should check before buying.

The store has a decent selection, however the attitude of the bald guy in the meat section has just made me decide never to go back there.
Please treat your customers well and provide some training to your staff

Goat Meat is very good. I tried several around Milton and Missisuaga. Pak Foods Goat Meat tastes always better

I have been purchasing meat from Pak foods for a long time but since last few months, there has been tremendous increase in prices compared to other halal stores.

Fresh vegetables section was quite good. However, meat section strangely was not open!
A little uplift needed to start attracting more customers

Standing there for 15 minutes, nobody bothers to ask do I need any help? Left the store and will not come back again. One other thing I think to have speak their language to get served, they don’t think you are in Canada? BRAVO.

One of the best Pakistani/Indian grocery store in Milton. They have a large variety of everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to frozen items to Pakistani/Indian spices to fresh Halal meet. Due to high turnover, the quality of their meat is great. Their marinated meat is also great. Their best marination by far is the beef Behari kabobs.

I like this place. It's small but has a decent selection, service runs from mildly surly to super friendly and the location is good. Can't ask for much more.

Great variety of foods and meats. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of breads, sweets and hard to find ethnic ingredients. It could be a little cleaner though- and a little more organized.

Its a small local store that houses everything desi. I bought meat from there and they had all forms of beefs, however it wasway expensive than other local stores

Good place to get all the groceries and meat under one roof. Staff is very helpful. They have good supplies of all types of grocery items.

The new man in the meat section is extremely rude and disrespectful. Please teach him some manners.

Butcher area is beyond gross and does not look like is cleaned properly. Please be aware this place has a couple of failures on halton Dinewise website. They had two separate failures for storing food at correct temperatures and also a failure for "Food premise is properly maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. "

My go to store during the covid times for the very nice management of protocols, cleanliness.

Great store to find desi stuff, I usually go to walmart or superstore but it’s hard to find desi items there. Their meat is exceptionally good. Store is well stocked and the employees are well aware of what’s where. This beard guy who works there made sure that I got everything I wanted. Great customer service skills all around. Great job pak foods!

Good variety of Pakistani food and grocery items. The owners are hard working and care about customers. Customer service could improve along with the prices.

It is a medium size grocery and deli store. Here you can find variety of nans, frozen foods and drinks relating to a particular community. It is getting busier day by day as they are very cooperative and helpfulling the needs of the customer.

We recently moved to Milton and Pak Foods was recommended to me for halal mutton. I have bought mutton few times now. And it has been a great experience. No smell and nicely cut.

Will definitely come here again.

Store has a very Welcoming management, keeps their store clean at all times specially meat department. I have done Qurbani with Pak Foods for 2 Eids in a Row and it was a very good Experience Alhamdu'lillalh.

The meat counter is not clean and the meat isn’t fresh, that goes for chicken and mutton.
The butcher with the red topi is a complete con artist. I asked for a meat piece from the back freezer, the ones in the counter were not good and fresh, the butcher responded ok I’ll check, the guy with the topi scolded him right away that we don’t ever ‘say that’ sell whatever you have upfront here. I didn’t walk away I literally ran away out of the store.
The new woman at the cash is weird and gossipy, equally worst customer service, DO NOT GO HERE.
