Panera Bread

Duplicate transaction. Poor approach.

- I ordered the Capreese melt with chips and a cookie & croissant. After paying, I receive my baked goods and proceed to wait. The front desk clerk comes back to me and says the transaction didn't complete. I pulled out my banking app and seen the charge was still there. I showed her the charge is showing on my transactions with no reversal of the charge, so I asked for a cancellation/incomplete transaction receipt. They could not produce it. I was then introduced to a 'Manager' named Jenna. I wish she was a bit more understanding rather than stand-offish, unlike her staff who were pleasant and understanding of the circumstances. Jenna refused to acknowledge that what my transaction records were showing are accurate. She suggested I pay for again and come back for a refund if the original charge goes through. I asked for a formal note with her name and position to ensure I have something tangible to start the conversation at a later date. She scoffed and hand wrote a note on some roll paper. I asked for something more official with her name position and signature.

After paying a second time, she came back with a typed letter with only her first name and no mention she was a manager. She then said she doesn't need to give me anything.

If Jenna was actually a manager, I don't know what she's managing - because she's certainly not managing communication, expectations or the customer experience, let alone her own attitude.

I'm not one to chase 20 some odd dollars, but holy hell could this have been handled with more tact.

I'll be disputing the transaction with my credit card company as a fraudulent transaction once the charge is posted

Panera used to be one of my favorite places for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, the quality keeps going down through the years. During my most recent visit I noticed they changed baguettes from crispy delicious proper French baguettes to a bun resembling a baguette only in shape and tasting worse than wonder bread. Salads are their best item these days, avoid sandwiches and skip soups which are oily and not very tasty.

Whenever I come into town, I usually eat at least once at Panera. Food is good, (not everything is deep fried) decently priced, and I can get it to go. Unfortunately, this time, my experience was less than stellar. Ordered the chicken melt green goddess.when I got to where I was going, I opened my sandwich only to discover there was no chicken in my chicken sandwich. It was basically the most unappealing and least filled sandwich I have ever had there. I was honestly surprised as normally I am impressed with how great the sandwiches are. We did get the broccoli soup, and that was good. For drinks, we got the strawberry banana smoothie, which was tasty, and the blood orange splash, which was more like lightly flavoured water. (I liked it, but my companion said it was too bland and not sweet enough). Overall, though disappointed at this outing.

Used to serve great food, seems like they’ve downgraded a lot in food quality. Almost similar to hospital food. French onion soup was water and 95% salt with no onion taste. Mac and cheese was average. Sides were boring, baguette was as solid as a rock. Broccoli cheddar soup was actually pretty tasty.

I always get the same order, have for years and this time the kitchen staff was incredibly rude and unaccommodating and refused. It was just an order of two soups mixed together and I didn’t care what it cost…they still wouldn’t do it.

I had the Southwest Chicken Salad. Amazing! I would go back for sure. The fresh Avocado in there was delicious. Thank you for a great lunch.

I used to like this place. However, my recent visit after COVID-19 closures made me very disappointed. Poor quality food, bad service. There was free refill of coffee. Not anymore but they still keep coffee dispensers outside to confuse customers. Too bad, I will never go back.

First of Panera when are you coming to Kitchener Ontario, you would be a great hit, we have not many selections here, however we do have chic a filet! Love the non sweetened ice tea, I do not know why more places do not carry it! Had the pizza and it was pretty good, French baguette, was not as airy as it should have been, more like a bread dough just styled as a French baguette. Love the concept, offerings prices are high, but now all prices at restaurants.we need more of the quick options that are healthy!

Panera in the US is great, here it is fine but not as well managed as US stores, may be that’s why many Panera stores closed. This location is good service, however today the coffee was really watery, hardly any coffee taste at all. Tried medium and dark roast, all no good. Cost savings with coffee beans may be, but for $3 cup it’s not much to expect a bit of coffee.

Pnera always makes a good sandwich but the quality of the salads was not great. The lettuce looked really bad. Chicken noodle soup is disappointing.

I ordered the Caperese Melt, and a Ham and Swiss chips on the side. The order was easy and came fast staff are great, place is clean I'll be back again ty Panera

Got a Caesar salad and it had several old lettuce leaves in there so it wasn’t fresh at all. Panera, if you are going to offer Caesar’s salads, you really need to offer lemon slices with the salads. I went to ask for a lemon slice and I was told they don’t carry lemons. Not sure why a Caesar salad is even being served at all, just take it off the menu if you aren’t going to serve it properly. Also, the lemonade section with all the drinks was extremely dirty and the floors were so sticky from spills. It wasn’t maintained at all. Overall, bad experience.

Since Covid-19 invaded our lives, I got a chance to visit Panera back (yeey!). It's always been my favorite place, either to meet my friends for a bite or just be me and enjoy my cup of coffee.

The service is always appreciated. People are always warm.

The food is always great, although one thing that I really missed that they stop making-quiches. I wish they bring is back. Otherwise, it will not stop me from coming back.

If you don't want to sell your fingerprints to the government. Don't buy anything here. Any company that is collecting your biometric data, is not trustworthy.

Bought 2 large MAC cheese, not even filled properly, I felt very bad, I paid 24 dollars for such thing.

I am not sure why this place has so much less rating. We had a good experience here and this was our first time being at Panera bread. The staff was good, ample parking space and seating available. We ordered mediterian sandwich and melt and both were amazingly delicious. The quantity is good enough for two people. Do try their chat later if you are fan of Indian tea.

Service isn’t the best, front person put the wrong order in. Instead of the kitchen correcting it, they made us pay the $3 difference. Front person didn’t apologize, manager was rude

This Panera is a decent size with lots of seating, both small bistro-style and booth-style tables. Lots of large windows make the place bright with soft natural light. Overall the cafe was very clean and the staff was very quick to clean up tables as people left so that new spots were readily available. My server was fast, friendly, and professional. My toasted cinnamon rasin swirl bagel was toasted perfectly and tasted delicious with my peppermint tea. I highly recommend trying this place.

Breakfast sandwich menu is not huge, but considering the variety of baked goods, it's sufficient.
Despite the wait, the staff were very courteous and helpful. The cashier even went back to speak with a cook (I assume) to figure out what soup was ready to offer to another group who weren't interested in breakfast (it was 930 am BTW).

The Cafe is large and clean. I also thought they had friendly customer service. But the food itself is quite poor quality. The bread that came with the soup was so stale and hard. Also, the tuna salad sandwich was soooo sour and tasted very artificial. Plus, the bread that it was served on eas really stale. The subway tuna salad is much better than this one for context. The only thing that I liked was the brocoli and cheddar soup - that was actually pretty good.

The food was all right, but for the price it should be better and have bigger portions. The baguette was cold and tasted stale, but the mango juice was delicious.

There is no explanation when you order. They expect that, you know. Food tastes good, portions are not worth the money

The best chai tea latte that I've ever had. This was my first visit ever. The green godess calabrese baguette was wonderful

Came in asking for two iced drinks, then the person at cash decided to tell me that I didn't ask for it iced. They refused to remake the drink or refund it so I'm stuck with a hot drink. Also I wanted to buy all of the cinnamon bagels but the cashier kept questioning my choice? Service was super questionable

The Sunday crew is very friendly - great to see a happy crew. As for the food, I don’t recommend the French onion soup at all - tasted quite like a canned commercial soup, not to mention it was just lukewarm, and the cheese was unmelted strings. The sandwiches are overpriced for a self-serve eatery. Coffee was cold and had coffee grounds in it.
The green goddess baguette was delicious but it’s messy! The restaurant could do with a bit of a refresh.
Don’t think we’ll be back.

I occasionally come here after work to pick up two Fuji Apple salads for my wife and I for dinner at home. The service is usually friendly and fast and the food is good.

So it came as a bit of a letdown when I got home, dressed my salad and found that the staff had forgotten to add the protein that comes with the salad along with most of the pecans and blue cheese. Essentially it was a typical salad with no chicken and bits and pieces of nuts and cheese.

Normally I would be able to brush something like this as a one-off. However, given that their prices went up due to inflation and that it was not terribly busy, they should should have been maintaining standards that keeps customers coming back.

Instead, I had to provide the protein myself when I got home and this place made a little extra profit. So I will not be coming back anytime soon and will especially avoid it when it is busy. I would hate to see what else they would forget in an order.

This is my family's favorite spot to eat. The food is versatile, either a light lunch, shareable portions for the hot food, and the soup always his the spot.

The dining area is always clean, and the staff have been nothing but courteous and helpful for the many years we've dined here.

I definitely recommend this location.

After being ignored by the staff for 5 minutes while at the counter I decided to take my business elsewhere
