No longer offer discount of 10% off when order over $35.
Food is average, but hits the spot when many restaurants close at 8pm and they close at 9pm. Portions shrunk. Don’t think I will be visiting again in a while.
This restaurant is Taiwanese style, the food is not bad but one wonton soup cost $5.99, only have 3 of wontons, unbelievable, actually, I have never have wonton soup only have 3 wontons, I was shock… understand everything is expensive nowadays, but this is still hard to believe… will not go back again… basically, this small restaurant is hard to survive, they need to cut down the food volume in order to carry on… I do understand…. But I can not have a bowl soup only have three wontons…sorry
If you’re craving spicy food plus something for the kids, Papa Chang’s always delivers with consistently tasty food, fast service, and for a very reasonable price.
The lady’s service is terrible! I can’t believe any restaurants can have service like this! They asked me to sit with someone next to me where there’s tons of space while it’s COVID! No social distance at all! I asked her nicely if she can pull the table out for more space she gave me bad attitude and said” No! You can only seat here! ” I’m like? I left with anger and never want to come back again with this kinda of service and environment! Booo
Craving for a Taiwanese beef noodle all of a sudden so decided to give this place a try… this place is packed with people so probably a good Indication of good food or good value…
the interior decor has nothing much to offer, just a regular place to eat… nothing special or anything bad either.
Since the place is packed with people and I have developed people-phobia from this pandemic time that I still haven’t get rid off, I decided to order take out.
The take out was fast and the price for this bowl of noodles is about $13 something (close to $14). I ate it immediately in my car and the noodle is good! The soup is very flavourful and most of beef is tender. Sometimes you will get those chunks of beef that is quite dry and chewy in some beef noodle from other restaurants. Beef in the beef noodle from this place is good. Goes so well with the soup… my favourite is always the soup. In my opinion, Better than Ten REN’s beef noodle with similar pricing. I won’t say this place has the best beef noodle but good enough for me to visit again next time if I am in the area!
Fried chicken and teriyaki chicken were pretty good but rice was soggy and minced meat lacked flavor hence weird texture, I would say it’s pretty average.
First time here. Service was good. The ambiance was comfortable, clean and overall nice. I had the spicy intestine with vermicelli which was good. I think they passed all three Marco Pierre White's restaurant categories well in my book.
Great place for Taiwanese comfort food. Simple seating, friendly service, hot tasty dishes with good portions and very reasonable prices.
We were given small bowls without having to ask so we could share dishes if we like. Water was refilled without having to ask as well. Only cash or debit (no credit cards) is accepted. If you pay cash, there is a 10% discount.
We ordered:
K14 Strawberry Milk Green Tea $3.50. Good drink for the price.
A08 Skewer Chicken $6.99. Light, crispy breading. Wasabi sauce drizzled on top is excellent.
A10 Popcorn Chicken $7.49. Breading is a bit thick. Not too oily. Dipping sauce is good. Wish there was basil which is normally a part of this dish.
A03 Deep Fried Fish Cake $5.99. Tasty and crispy. Good dipping sauce.
R02 Taiwanese Sausage & Minced Pork on Rice $6.99 +$1 marinated boiled egg. Sausage is a bit dry. Wish there was more minced pork. More rice in this dish then would have liked.
R07 Curry with Pork Chop Rice. $7.99. Large piece of meat. Not too much rice. Good curry flavour.
B06 Deep Fried Pork Chop Bento $8.49. Comes in a plastic bento box. Good pork chop and side dishes.
N04 Minced Pork Noodle Soup with chilli sauce on the side $8.49. Delicious. Excellent portion. Chili sauce has a nice level of heat and fried shallot bits. Really enjoyed this dish. Noodles were perfect with just the right amount of ingredients.
A very enjoyable family dinner. Food arrived quickly. Had to wait a bit to get the bill because it got busy at the time we were ready to leave but overall we were in and out in about an hour. Would definitely go back again. Definitely one of the better Taiwanese places to eat in the GTA.
Papa Chang's is super affordable and their bento boxes are really tasty and cheap. Make sure to check out their popcorn chicken! This has become a popular place for me to stop over for dinner whenever I'm travelling up north.
Ordered the braised set party tray for take out. To be honest, for $50 you’re better off getting other food elsewhere. The taste was ok but it really wasn’t worth it.
Always a quick and reliable staple of Markham. I can generally call 10-20min ahead (in English!) and it's ready for pickup. Left = Taiwanese Sausage with minced pork on rice (+ extra for tea egg). Right = Popcorn chicken Bento. Always delicious, consistent and filling at reasonable prices!
The people working here are very friendly even when ordering over the phone. They are very patience and helpful and make good suggestions. The food is great and the price is fair. We highly recommended to anyone who enjoy Taiwanese cuisine to this restaurant.
I’ve gotten takeout here twice. Once on my birthday last year and the other time this year. Food was amazing. Amazing price. Good portion and food was so yummy minced pork with Taiwanese sausage is my favourite item
We come to this spot very often, because of how awesome the food and prices are! Their Spicy Taiwanese Sausage & Minced Pork with Rice & Egg was so delicious. Their minced pork was perfectly seasoned, chili oil was not at all spicy but brought great flavour to it, and the pickled vegetable was the star to this dish. Next up, their Popcorn Chicken Bento, came with well-seasoned & tender popcorn chicken, minced pork sauce on steamed rice, then tofu, veggies and fish sausage as side dishes. Everything was so well-priced and came with superb portions! What more can one ask for?
My favourite place to grab a quick dinner or lunch. They have delicious food at a cheap price! Highly recommend trying their popcorn chicken, it’s so crispy and not oily.

The taste of the dishes are not too bad. Although they give you tons of rice, the meat portions such as popcorn chicken or taiwanese sausage that come with the rice could be little more generous.
My go-to cheap and quick Taiwanese food! Always such a good deal, my fave order is the popcorn chicken bento box for only 8.99$! Generous amount of rice and chicken, comes with some veggies as sides so you don’t feel as guilty
The fried chicken here is absolutely amazing. The meal was scrumptious! I ordered the popcorn chicken, the chicken teriyaki and the fish curry with rice. Take-out only took 10 minutes, and that was great! The only problem was that the waitress on the phone didn't even know the order numbers of each dish. Kind of pathetic service, but overall my experience here was awesome.
Decent Taiwanese food on the cheap! The dish to order from here has to be the popcorn chicken hands down! Crispy outside, tender inside. The noodle soup was also a nice find too! Satay beef and the braised pork bento were nice amd flavourful, but meat was a little dry. Portions were decent for the price you pay too!

Our family liked their food a lot. First time we ate in the restaurant, then we have been buying take out every week after. Recommend their minced pork on rice with sausage and egg. Their Taiwanese fried chicken is also one of the must try dish. Recommend to people who like Asian food.
The food are really tasty, but the staff is really rude. I went in with 3 kids (2 toddlers) and asked for 5 seats. The staff said we are missing one person and would not allow us to sit down even though there are 2 tables available. I ended up have to tell him we have 4 people and told the other person not to come so i can sit down and eat with 3 kids.
Papa Changs is a fantastic combination of value and quality. Nothing in the menu costs more than 10$, and each entree item is a full meal on its own. The best Taiwanese food in Markham for the value.
I had 4 dishes, beef brisket noodle soup, big intestine vermicelli, deep fried pork belly and pop corn chicken, all are amazing, clean, fast and cheap.
Delicious and great value. 4 dishes came up to $36 after tax and tips. Spicy beef noodle soup, minced pork on rice, spicy fried chicken, and vermicelli. The spicy dishes were very spicy, but totally worth it. Restaurant was also fairly clean.
Read some good reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try. Bubble tea was not good, it was the powdered cheap kind and tapioca was overcooked. Quite disappointing for a tawainese place to have such bad bubble tea. Food was so so. If your a fan of beef noodle soup it's cheap and you get a big bowl. Probably wouldn't go again
Papa Chang's was a great find. I stumbled upon this place when I was searching for Taiwanese food. I ordered: Hand-cut minced pork on rice and added a soy egg (extra $1), Curry beef with rice, Beef pancake, and Chili popcorn chicken. The minced pork on rice was really good and fresh It's way better than the ones that you find in bubble tea shops that probably microwave pre-made food. The curry beef on rice was really tasty, and the portions were worth the price. The beef pancake was a bit different than expected. I thought it would have beef, scallions and hoisin sauce (like other beef pancakes), but instead it had some sort of Thousand Island-like sauce, egg, lettuce and beef. It was still good though (maybe it's their version of a beef pancake?). The chili popcorn chicken was crispy and spicy. Overall, I would recommend this place!
Excellent pricing, fantastic portion sizes. The staff barely speaks English and service is near nonexistent but the value and taste are there, and if you're craving a Taiwanese bento you aren't going to find a better deal than this.
Very rude service, it is the worst service I experienced. A middle aged waitress with blonde dyed short hair is unbelievable ill-mannered. The waitress was screaming to the guest who did not finish the meal and asked the guest to leave the table for next guest immediately. Papa Chang's service is very disappointing.
Attentive service. Cheap very filling food. I had their taiwanese sausage, which had a sweet savory flavour, takoyaki balls with wasabi which were spot on, and their signature spicy beef noodle soup. Their soup had a nicely balanced broth with parsley in it. Very generous chunks of beef that simply melt in your mouth. If I am ever in markham again, I will visit again to try more of their food. No pics, sorry i ate it before the thought came to me.
This is a small restaurant tucked away in a small plaza by Markham Rd and 16th Ave. We noticed that a large portion of their customers are people getting takeout. This was more than amount of people that actually ate there.
Between 3 people we shared a few snacks and a beef noodle soup. Deep fried fish cakes, deep fried pork belly, Taiwanese sausage, green onion pancake, chicken skewers. The chicken skewers were very large. This means that there's a ton of batter over the actual meat. Still tasty but too much batter for my liking. The other snacks were very tasty and hit the spot. I found that the noodles in the beef noodle soup were tastier than another Taiwanese restaurant. We left absolutely stuffed. Probably could've done with at least 1 less dish.
I love this place. Everything I've tried has been amazing. Not sure why when I went on Thursday it was closed. I was really disappointed. I hope it stays in business because there are not many places in Markham that offer good food for reasonable prices.
