What a great hidden gem! The buns are reasonably priced and pretty big. Probably one of the best price to size ratio in the GTA.

Unfortunately they were out of red bean pineapple buns: (Got the coconut pineapple bun instead and it was so good! There was tons of filling, the bread was soft, and the pineapple topping was really good. The BBQ pork pineapple bun was good as well.

I look forward to trying their other buns and their hot food soon!

Great HK cafe in Mississauga! Can’t believe I haven’t heard of this place in my 30 years of living in this city.

Updating my review from 6 years ago. This has been one of my goto breakfast spots on the weekends for years and years with my family. It is a classic HK style bakery and cafe.

The staple pineapple buns, egg tarts, and milk tea are all on point.

I love the chicken and fried egg breakfast and the baked chicken rice with tomato sauce.

They also make great cakes like their mixed fruit cake, chestnut cake, and Swiss rolls.

Hope they stay in business for a long time.

Amazing Hong Kong style breakfast! I got their French toast which was filled with peanut butter and a lemon iced tea. Both were delicious!

I used to love this place but the quality has gone downhill ~year ago (during COVID), the milk tea is much weaker and buns are now just mediocre.

I can’t compare it with some HK-style cafes in Markham and Richmond Hill. But still a good choice in Mississauga.

If you are looking for quality Hong Kong style milk tea, you must come to Papa John as they have the best milk tea in town. Friendly service with a great variety of menus. The bakery is good as usual. Their price is reasonable as cost gets more expensive during the pandemic but you will enjoy what you pay. For Hong Kong style fast food, I will recommend Papa John as they are able to maintain quality and services.

Very busy place! Always fresh bun and good, get there early and enjoy. Egg tarts sell out fast. The tarts best part is the home made crust. Can’t say anything else a hidden gem with great prices all the buns are $2!

The buns, tea and noodles were all so good.
The staff is extremely pleasant, and remembered me the second time I came in.

So glad I found this place. It's hard to find a good Asian bakery for buns. Their buns are around $2 each and are bigger than what you would find elsewhere (e.g. Saint Germaine, Patisserie Gateau). There isn't much variety of buns though, but they have the usuals like pineapple bun and curry beef bun. Their HK milk tea is also quite good. And their swiss roll cake has the perfect amount of cream to cake ratio and cake is moist - this is hard to find these days.

Very good simple meal, pineapple oil is very big. The boss is very nice and has a great attitude

Nice and tasty pastry and cakes, I usually go for the classic pineapple buns, but all other flavors are good too, just freshly baked. My favourite cake is the mango flavour or the black sesame.

Good Hk milk tea. Also ordered some Chinese bun which were all great quality and fresh. Also they didn't skimp on filling.

Papa John’s bakery is a place that offers traditional Chinese buns, pastries, cakes and Hong Kong style beverages1. They have a variety of baked goods that are fresh and made daily. However, I was not impressed by their service or their seating. The place feels extremely chaotic and crowded. The staff are not very friendly or attentive. The seating is uncomfortable and cramped. The prices are also high for the quality and quantity of the food. I would love to support this place as one of the remaining local Cantonese places in the area, but I think they need to improve their service and their environment. I would suggest that they switch to a takeout and delivery store, as their seating is not very inviting. I would only recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite of Chinese buns or pastries, but don’t expect a relaxing or enjoyable dining experience.

I get an iced HK milk tea or iced lemon tea every morning from here before work and it brightens up my day. Their drinks are delicious! I tried their Hainanese chicken today and it was also delicious. Blew my expectations away with the authentic flavours.

We come here a lot in the morning for breakfast, they always have a great selection. Our family favourites are the curry beef bun, the pork buns, and mine is the coconut cream one.
The prices are incredibly fair and reasonable, and significantly cheaper than the grocery store but it's fresher and better quality.
We will keep going here as long as we live in Mississauga.
