Awesome stationery store with a great selection of pens, ink, and notebooks. The staff know their stuff and are extremely friendly. We had a nice talk about the Lamy pens for a while with one of the employees. Definitely a great place to get some really nice, high quality stationery!

Many of the cards and gift items that you wish you found when you went to the other places!

I came out with what I wanted, but found the person working the floor rushed, abrupt and impatient to the point where at the cash I considered rescinding the sale. When I remarked on the rushed tenor, I learned the partners had been working for 30 days straight. The logic in using this to account for the brusque manner escapes me. I bought the items because I really wanted them, but left feeling roughed up and as if I’d paid not just financially, but emotionally for the purchase. Never had a retail experience like this.

How have I never been in this fab store until today? Super selection of assorted writing instruments from all of the best manufacturers and a stellar collection of greeting cards and other stationary materials including fancy Japanese papers. Helpful and friendly service.

This is a fun place lots of interesting items and a surprise flower shop at the back which is kind of neat. Always fun to go in and peruse I would say three and a half Stars but it doesn't allow that

Paper Papier is a beautiful shop with a kind, attentive, witty and charming sales team. The cards, posters, puzzles, soaps, journals and calendars are wonderfully curated. The pens and inks are absolute top quality. Impeccable service and a delightful shopping experience. This is a must visit when in Ottawa.

I went in here because people told me I could get a calendar. This place is not for the average working person. This place is merely there for rich people as well as the owner getting rich as possible as quick as possible. $18 was the cheapest calendar. I looked at the owner and told him he was nuts. These are specialized calendars. But there is nothing that is not expensive in this store. Shame on you guys

Love shopping at this store - great quality paper, lovely colourful wrapping paper and the most gorgeous pens. The greeting card section is my weakness - they have the most unique and tempting selection. A wonderful place for all your paper, pen and writing needs - high end pens and some everyday ones as well. Very helpful staff.

The flower shop (fleurissant) in the back has gorgeous and fresh flowers with a talented owner Tamiko that can create on the spot arrangements for you. This place is a hidden gem in Ottawa.

There is no other shop as special as Paper Papier! Andrew and Gary have perfectly curated a collection of fine writing instruments, speciality gift wrap supplies, cards, and much more! It’s difficult not to fall in love with the unique sheets of wrapping paper draped on display. Or to pass by their vast selection of fine writing instruments without feeling inspired! They are always there to help you find the perfect pen, greeting card, or make your gift all the more special with a chic gift wrap. Paper Papier is a true Ottawa gem with something for everyone!

Une destination obligatoire lorsque je viens a Ottawa. Le plus grand choix de cahiers Leuchtturm jamais vu et de stylos Lamy. Papiers, cartes, emballages et même fleurs, tout y est design et élégant, et à des prix raisonnables. Pour les passionnés de cahiers et d'écriture!

One of my favourite places to pick up art supplies, journals, and unique cards for every occasion!

The flowers are pricey, but the Fleurissant is probably one of the most tastefully curated flower shops in Ottawa. If you like unique flowers, then this place is for you.

I come here at least once a year to pickup my Leuchtturm planners (these are a little better all than stock Moleskine planners, FWIW). They also have a very good selection of notebooks (Rhodia for example) and a growing selection of fountain pens and inks. Year over year this section has grown to fill a wall and a display case and for fountain pen enthusiasts, you should frequent this place. The only constructive criticism here is that they don't carry Pelikan pens.

Wedding Flowers
This wonderful store put together stunning bouquets for our son and daughters November 30th Wedding. The staff are welcoming, professional and I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for flowers and gifts as well as they sell more than just beautiful flowers!

Sans doute ma boutique favorite à Ottawa. J'y vais lorsque le moral est bas pour enjoliver ma journée. La qualité des produits est excellente et les fleuristes ont d'excellents conseils en plus d'être très sympathiques. L'endroit parfait pour confectionner vos cadeaux.

Paper Papier is a wonderful shop in the Byward Market, I often go here to find the best cards, lovely gifts and stationary. Definitely 5 stars to the shop, but beyond that, I'd have to give 5 starts to Fleurissant, the small and perfectly precious flower shop that is located inside the paper shop. Tamiko Yamane, the brilliant florist along with her team deserve great praise. They recently did all the flowers for my wedding, my bouquet, my husbands boutonnière, and many table centre pieces of different sizes. They were beautiful and perfect for the occasion and the season. Tamiko paid close attention to my needs and wants and found the perfect flowers! They were stunning and delicate, the perfect balance of what I was looking for. And her and her team were a delight to work with, I never felt pressured or dismissed like I did at other flower shops, or like I was getting ripped off, when other shops hear your looking for wedding flowers all of a sudden their prices sky rocket, or they judge you and don't think you can afford nicer pieces. I never felt this way at Fleurissant. With them I felt respected and confident that they could create what I wanted and they exceeded my expectations. It was my first gut feeling to go with them and I ended up shopping around and then came right back to them and I am so very glad I did. My guests loved the floral arrangements as much as I did. If you are looking for someone great to work with, someone who has a creative eye for elegance and beauty and what great arrangements of flowers can be, go see Tamiko and her team! Or even if you're just looking for a mothers day bouquet or something for your loved one or nice plant to take home, they have a wide range of house plants too! I have to stop myself getting one every time I go in there! Check them out if you're in the ByWard Market, you won't be disappointed!

**Rude manager/unclear return parameters**

I will start by saying that I usually have a wonderful experience here. Every time I go in I buy something. Their product selection is obviously amazing and I have purchased many many times. Looking back after my last interaction, it is clear that their customer service leaves something to be desired. On almost every occasion, I have not been acknowledged until paying for my purchase, and even then you can tell the cashier would rather be doing anything else. On my last visit, I needed to return a planner which I bought as it was hourly, but didn’t realize that it was entirely in French until I got it home (the days of the week were listed in many languages so I saw English and didn’t think anything of it). Well god forbid you try to return a planner at this store. The employee immediately turned away and went to get who I assume was the manager, who then waved at something near the cash register, and quite condescendingly told me that they do not refund planners and would I like to exchange it for something else in the store. As a retail employee, I checked my receipt before I came in to see if there were any return restrictions and there weren’t. I was also not informed of any during my purchase, so was very surprised to hear this. I was confused and since the planner didn’t even start until August I asked why not? (And keep in mind I have been very polite during this entire interaction, again working in retail I understand that being rude gets you NOWHERE) The manager kept waving at a jumble of stuff on the counter and I finally asked what he was referring to.he literally had to move a pen display to reveal a small sign that says there is no return on planners. Finally he agreed to return the item (which was only $20.) but seemed VERY annoyed to have to do so. After that experience I don’t really want to shop here anymore. I realize this has been a very long review, but really. If a company has a restrictive policy, it needs to be verbally stated or written on the receipt. Otherwise you should not be surprised or annoyed when someone is not aware of the policy.

Wonderful staff and good selection of some nice fountain pens. The gentleman that helped me did an excellent job at describing the different types they had and helped to swap out the nib on my Lamy.

Bought a notebook and some expensive letter pens here, notebook is great, pen broke with just two pages of writing. Returned literally the next day for an exchange/refund. Important to note one of the cashier's was nice and said ya of course, other cashier was just super judgemental! Argued every single word I said, refused refund with the tag still on the item, I went to write on my hand to demonstrate it missing the felt tip "well you're not supposed to write on your hand: (", yeah okay thanks I obviously broke it from writing letters on my hand, customers love it when you treat them like they're dumb.

One of my favourite stores in Ottawa. Their fountain pen and ink selection is great and they have a lot of beautiful paper products. The store always smells wonderful because of the florist in the back (they make beautiful arrangements and always have a stock of healthy potted plants).

From Stationary to flowers, feathers and ink. The pen is mightier than the sword here and you just might find your next stylo in this gem enveloped by the surrounding Byward.
