Went there for lunch and got BBQ chicken with yogurt cucumber dip. The general vibe of the restaurant was average but the yogurt cucumber was really delicious! Their chicken was good too but it could have come with a liitle bit of more spices and flavor! I'm very picky when it comes to rice and they have unexpectedly perfectly cooked rice! They also add a little bit of cumin to the rice which makes it even more delicious! They can improve the design as well, for example the garlic sauce should come in a porcelaine bowl intead of plastic- it makes it look better I guess. They made their own pitta bread which is really yummy!
Beef is chewy, as always. Chicken is the only good option in paramount. Lamb chops are good too if not the best. Their hummus is to die for. This location’s ambience is great. Fries are the best. Fries instead of rice is recommended. Because rice is a bit dry in almost all middle eastern restaurants.
The restaurant had a clean atmosphere, the staff were nice and the food was amazing. I would even go as far as to say that the have good prices for their food. Plus, their Baklava was delicious.
Don’t ruin your mode and waste your money at this location! So disappointed with the food and service. I like to have the chicken “well done” when the chicken is PINK not WHITE, logically, its undercooked! When a customer gives you a comment, the least you can do is to apologize! Thanks for ruining my day, waisting my time and money!
We ordered the fattoush salad, Saj beef and the spicy chicken pizza. The food was not not wow but it was good. For a halal option the in the area, it’s pretty good but since we are avid middle eastern cuisine lovers, we weren’t exactly blown away.
Great downtown location and sitting in the front get to do a lot of people watching. Modern but middle eastern inspired decor and architecture. Variety of shawarma and ‘North American’ foods if you’re not too familiar or extreme with middle eastern cuisine. Can spend $20 and be full or $200 for high end dinner. Only complaint is the service was not great. Slow, and inconsistent. Maybe were short staffed? But overall, was a great experience!
Avoid ordering the paramount special drink for delivery, the fruit is canned and not fresh, there was no nuts and barely any ashta! The beef shawerma wrap was not bad! We are so disappointed!
Zero review zero star for them overprice food and poor packaging. I bought a chicken Shawarma wrap due to poor packaging when I open it Shawarma falls down and packaging open it itself I would recommend everybody do not go to this location
I came here for lunch on my lunchbreak from work. I had Maha as my server, she was very pleasant and very helpful! The food and everything tasted and came out very quick which I loved! I will be coming back:)
Gave this place a 5 star review 4 years ago and now must drop it to a 3. Unfortunately they are falling victim to inflation and are passing those rising costs over to the patrons. Prices have gone up at least 50% since my last review and portions have gone down by 25-30%. Service has also plummeted. Servers don't come by 20-30 minutes at a time. I don't think I can return here. As someone who eats out frequently, I know this is the beginning of the end before a location shuts down.
This restaurant is great for those who want to try Authentic Middle Eastern Food. The preparation quality is excellent. The dishes have exceptional taste and quantity. The pricing here is on the middle range. Affordable tasty food for all.
Although the Restaurant is located on a busy street in downtown Toronto so parking might be hard to find. But if you want to try good food you can find parking somewhere.
This is must visit place if you have never had a fresh, hot pita. Apart from this we had hummus with beef, Manakesh with zaatar & cheese and pistachio gelato. All were good apart from gelato since it tasted like sorbet instead. I’ll definitely visit again to try other items on menu.
TLDR; dips are good, meat temperature is cold and flavour is bland. Come only if you want an overpriced, cold, flavourless meal. 2 stars only because of the muttabal dip.
Paramount has clearly seen a decline in quality over the years.
Before walking in, I checked the reviews and saw many people mention that this location was not as good as the Yonge/Dundas location. This is 100% true.
I arrived around 11: 30 close to opening, hoping for fresh, hot shawarma. Instead I got cold, flavourless chicken on a bed of bland rice, with a side of cold roasted tomato and onion. I had to send it back and the second dish still had the cold vegetables and Lukewarm chicken. It became clear to me that my meal was NOT cooked fresh - and wouldn’t be even after I flagged it to the staff.
The best part of the dish was the pre-made garlic sauce. Sad.
I also ordered a side of muttabal and pita. The muttabal was good however!
All in, disappointing and will not be returning.
I paid 42$ for a mediocre shawarma plate and a dip. I wish I spent my money literally anywhere else.
3 ⅓ Stars: A mixed bag experience overall. For example, the Arnabeet is marvelous. If you love tahini and cauliflower, then I urge you to order it; you’re gonna love it. The Kebbe, on the other hand, must have been the worst I’ve had? I’m sorry but that must have been like "Beyond Kebbe" or something. How so flavorless? And last but not least, the Shawarma. The Shawarma’s alright. Decent and inoffensive.
All in all, with those prices, this admittedly-above-average experience becomes not really worth it.
The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Our server Amir made sure we got everything on time and was very friendly to talk with. I recommend this place to try if you're looking to have lunch or dinner.
I enjoyed the food here. In my opinion, there could have been a tad more flavor to the meat, but everything was served fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is beautiful. It was hard to get the server's attention at times. Overall, I recommend this place.
I went two times and had two different experiences. The first time, service was great and so was the food. The second time, I waited a couple of minutes until I was greeted and seated. The food did not taste as good as the first time. The soup was served way too hot. All in all, I'd recommend it, especially beef shawarma.
I came here for the first time today and picked up the falafel wrap and some baklava. Right away I noticed how delicious the smell was and when I finally tired it, I was impressed; The best tasting falafel I’ve ever had, hands down! These falafels are spiced so deliciously and the texture is just right. I could easily eat them on their own, but having them in the wrap with the other veggies was perfect.
The baklava is also delicious! There’s a lovely selection so I bought the assorted box. They are soft, sweet and melt in your mouth. I couldn’t stop eating them and finished the whole box. (There were 10)
I will be returning for these and I look forward to trying many other dishes.
This place was awesome. Very authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, with lots of options for folks who eat meat and even those who do not. The falafel here is great, as well as everything else. The portion sizes are huge for the price!
I wish I red the latest review before. We always go to the Dundas square location and there is a huge difference between quality, freshness, customer service and atmosphere. That’s really disappointing that you can’t trust the brand. That much difference between two close locations. Baklava was not fresh and didn’t taste good.
