First, a little preamble: I don't consider myself too picky about my hair, but I've always been hesitant about going to a hair salon (traumatized from childhood when my hair was cut NOT the way I wanted - thanks mom! And I'm ridiculously frugal when it comes to doing things for my physical appearance).

BUT! Discovering this salon has been a game changer! I've had multiple cuts from (who were then) apprentice stylists and it's safe to say I'm not going anywhere else for a while. Very high quality of service and prices are really worth it (I've only had cuts with them, but I'm sure their other services are also well worth it).

Special shoutout to Darquise who genuinely cared and patiently worked with me to find the perfect cut when I was quite unsure of how to describe what I was after.

These people know hair! Highly recommend!

I like the service, but having to make 2 separate appointments for haircuts and colour is a bit tricky.
Great professionals, though. They all know their field and my hair very well.

Sadie and Sam are the best, I came in with a really difficult color correction and they got me exactly where I wanted, and got me the best price possible. Everyone here makes you feel so at ease, amazing people!

I've been going to Blake at Parlour for two years and I love every haircut. He's a great hair stylist and helps me decide what will work for me. Today I came in to cut off 7 inches for a dramatic change. He was very helpful and enthusiastic about the change. It was a great experience and a beautiful haircut.

I was so excited to get my hair done at Parlour, and the experience delivered. Stylist Tim did a phenomenal job with my colour and cut, and I felt very comfortable at every point of the experience. I would definitely recommend this salon for anyone, especially queer identifying folks, who are looking to sparkle and shine.

Jordan is AMAZING genuinely one of the cutest haircuts I have ever got/the nicest person. So cute relatable and nice. He did for my hair what every other salon ive been too in toronto could’nt made my thin greasy hair shiny and silky without being weighed down. Even though i was pretty hungover and sleepy he got me engaged fully awake and laughing. Genuinely the sweetest angel and I already have 2-3 referrals for him becuase he did such a good job. I LOVE.

Great space! Queer-friendly, non pretentious, and great prices especially if you go for a student cut.

Jordan did an amazing job at giving me a haircut and styling my hair. He was patient and understanding with what I wanted and did a fantastic job. I trust him with my hair and that’s basically all you need from your hairstylist.

I recently had the pleasure of getting a haircut and blow dry from Egor at Parlour Salon. Egor was not only professional and courteous but also very skilled. I was very happy with the end result, was just what I asked for. I would highly recommend Egor to anyone looking for a top-notch haircut and blow dry.

Had such an excellent experience with darquise! Im so happy with my cut, not only did i love it on the day (two weeks ago) im still loving it:) i will be getting my hair cut by darquise from now on!

The appointment team (we dealt with Jordan) are rude. Most of the stylists are highly average. Would not recommend.

I've been getting my hair done by Gosia for years, and have followed her to different salons including Parlour. Highly recommend visiting, the salon is super chill and reception is always nice, I'm always able to get an appointment, and Gosia is simply amazing. I've gotten highlights done, different hair cut styles over the years, bang trims and more. Gosia is attentive, professional, and I always walk out of the salon loving my hair.

Do you want a cute messy fringe? You MUST go here, and ask for Egor! I cannot stress enough how awesome he cut mine. I cannot wait to go back for my next trim.

I’m super picky about my hair cuts and I had to try a few salons before I found someone who I truest with my hair while heartedly. Gossia is amazing! She’s so good at what she does and I’ve loved every haircut she’s given me. Recently we did some blonde balayage to get rid of the red I had, and lighten everything up, and she blew my expectations out of the water!

I’ve been here a few times when Savanah worked here and I was always happy with the results. Went in for a cut in February and was told she doesn’t work there, I asked for someone who is experienced with long hair and booked my appointment. Bad decision. The person who checked me in forgot to tell the stylist I was on site, the appointment started about 30 minutes late, which would have been fine but the stylist felt rushed. Did a horrible job with the cut, uneven, not at all what I asked for. I contacted them a few days later and was offered a fix, Sam (who seems great by the way), tried to fix things but mentioned that he would basically have to cut off about 6 inches to even things out, he said he would be able to try and blend the layers in better and I should come back in a few months to actually correct/even things out. I contacted them after a few months and still no response.

Update: management never reached out in June. This wasn’t just a cut that wasn’t to my liking, she basically left about 6-8 inches between the layers, there’s only so much Sam could do to fix the previous stylists butcher job.

I got my hair cut today and the stylist was very nice, however when I got home I'm very unhappy with the results. It felt like the haircut took no time at all and my hair is completely uneven, if I can't get this fixed I'm going to have to go to another salon and pay more to get this fix. Disappointed by this service.

I visited Parlour this week and I had a great experience! Shaunna was amazing, super friendly and gave me a fantastic cut. She also gave me some tips for home haircare that were super helpful, I would 100% visit again.

Colour there, cut same, three hours in chair for just roots done and a cut to realize you need to wear clothing you don't care about. My shirt is ruined which I just bought and will now be used as a rag. Never again.

I've been seeing Egor for haircuts and balyage these last couple of months. Everytime I see him, I know I'm in good hands. He always takes his time during consultation and is honest about what to expect (especially with color) and he always explains what he's doing and why. I really appreciate that. Egor was able to color my virgin black hair to sun kissed balyage. I love it and get lots of compliments on it. If you need balyage, ombre or dramatic color change, Egor is the one.

I think it was just a mismatch in personalities that lead to a not-great experience. Finding a stylist can be difficult and sometimes it's just not a great fit! It doesn't mean they aren't a great stylist. In the future, I would make sure to book a consultation which is what I should have done right off the bat.

At the beginning of my appointment, I made the mistake of talking about what I would like to do in the future (platinum) instead of what I came in for that day (root bleach, toner, cut). Basically, I misunderstood her question. She thought I meant that's what I wanted to do that day, and that set the tone for the rest of the appointment.

When I would answer questions, she would say a lot "Well what do you mean by that? " every response I gave she just seemed annoyed or unimpressed with my answer.

When I asked an opinion on something her response was just "I don't know, I don't know you. " She's not wrong, but I asked a professional for a professional's opinion. It was just weird.

It did get better towards the end when I apologized and said it seemed like we were having some trouble communicating and I was doing my best to tell her the information she needed to know. I ended up agreeing to a shorter cut than maybe I wanted (to be clear, the fault would be on my end for that).

Basically, if you want to go here I recommend a consultation first. It will be better for the stylist and the client.

EDIT: Responding after the reply. I'm not sure their reply addressed my concern. While I agreed to the cut, I didn't really want it because the whole appointment was just so uncomfortable. I appreciated the reply, but I still wouldn't go back to Parlour, sorry. Just wasn't the salon for me!

My experience with Parlour was great, I had my haircut with Gosia, she is an artist, it was a wonderful experience ️

Coming here was a bit of a mistake. I must say I am confused that this is the best salon in Toronto. My haircut was awful on Friday. If I can be fair, the hair dresser was actually extremely friendly and comfortable to be around but it was very awkward when midway through my cut my hair was just awful and they seemed distracted my another Staff member who kept coming by to talk about work related scheduling and client bookings and not focusing on my hair. One side had more hair then the other, the entire cut was just shaved off for layers and very un-even. I wanted to just get out and pretended I was fine with the cut and went elsewhere to get my hair fixed right after. Truly this was so awkward!

Its just a haircut right?
No.
And its not always just about 'looking nice'. Sometimes haircuts have a much larger impact in ways that are not initially apparent.
For example:
-For people who may deal with depressive episodes sometimes just doing your hair is very very hard.
Having a cut/style that is so easy to care for and requires very minimal styling makes a difference.

-For people who may deal with anxiety in many social situations, having someone with emotional intelligence and skill enough to interpret the hair objective through anxious ramblings, makes a difference.

-For people with migraines that can be made worse by tight ponytails or buns for the in-between wash days, a cut that can be slept on and still look great the next day, makes a difference.

Jenna makes a difference.side note, I have been to see Jenna 3 times now, all during the pandemic, so imagine all the skill needed to give someone a cut that fits all of the above without seeing the bottom of their face.

Egor cuts a perfect bob with razor straight lines every time. And he is so efficient— done in about 45 minutes. Always so fun to talk with him, too!

I booked an impromptu haircut today after putting it off for a veeeery long time, and chose the first salon near me with same day availability and good reviews, which happened to be Parlour. I booked in with Katt as they had the first open availability that worked for me, and was initially nervous as I'm hesitant about trying new stylists and haven't yet settled on a salon/stylist that I really gravitate towards.

I had a lot of questions for Katt about ideas I had for my hair, and she answered them knowledgeably but what I most appreciated was the honesty.i have yet to go to a salon where the stylist disagrees with my idea either because they know it's bad for my hair health, or I'll likely be unhappy if I'm unwilling to keep up the maintenance because they aren't honest about it, and often goes along with it just for the money and I leave frustrated and with damaged hair.

Amazing cut and service aside, I'll definitely be returning to Parlour to see Katt again. My hair feels healthy and refreshed and I left with 0 regrets.

Amazing haircut worth every penny. Gosia is a master at her craft gave me the most wonderful cut and i’ve been so happy ever since, I gave her a brief idea of what I wanted and left the rest in her hands and she went above and beyond my expectations.

Very disappointed and super upset. Last week I returned after 2 years! Used to be my go to spot when Aimee was around. Tried a new stylist who gaslit me the entire time I was in her chair. She took off 7 inches of my length even though we agreed on 4. She then said don’t worry, it’ll be long when it’s straightened? !? She did a big wet chop and said she'd blend layers once dry. Blending technique is non-existent. She proceeded to quickly get me out of her chair so she can see the next client. I would have completely respected her if she said she didn’t know how to layer hair or do curtain bangs. Pretty sure I’m never returning.

Shaunna did my colour and Tracy did my cut today and were so great. I can tell they put so much care and dedication into their work, while also being kind and fun to chat with. The two of them really made my day!

Many stylists don't understand the difficulties of my thin fine hair, but Shaunna gets it completely and always manages to make my hair look good and give me tips for managing and styling my hair for later. I won't go anywhere else!

Gosia has been doing my hair for several years and I have never been disappointed. She does the most amazing blonde highlights. I am very picky about the blonde colour and she always listens and knows exactly how to work her magic! Her haircuts are just as fantastic. I will show her a picture of what I’m looking for in a cut and that is just what I will get! Not only is she very talented, she is also an amazing person! I can’t recommend Gosia and the Parlour salon enough!

A late review for a haircut I had ~6 months ago.

I saw all the great reviews online, and booked an appointment online. The process was smooth.

I was, however, extremely unhappy with my haircut, but I had travelled ~5kms to get it in the first place. I didn’t have any confidence that it could be rectified and am now just putting it in a bun and hoping it’ll grow out. This is for shoulder length hair. The hair sticks out in the crown area (only on one side). I’ve had to completely straighten my hair to make it presentable for work or tighten it up into a bun. It’s ironic cause when I got the haircut, I asked for something that can work on my wavy hair, so I don’t have to straighten it out often. Really sad it didn’t work out.

Gosia is an absolute gem and always goes above and beyond my expectations. I can’t imagine anyone else touching my hair ever again. 10/10.

The Salon addressed my issues with my cut promptly and I GREATLY appreciate the attention and customer service. I'm glad that they read my review and understood the issue I was facing. I'm truthfully non-confrontational, and wouldn't feel comfortable complaining to anyone directly who works at the salon, so I left a review. Thank you.

I had my hair cut by Jordan and it was a wonderful experience all around! The salon is clean, bright and professional. Jordan perfectly replicated the reference photo I showed him, and two people stopped me on the street to tell me they liked my hair on my walk home from the salon. I'll definitely be coming back:)

I came here for a cut and colour (full highlights) and the colour was done well by Gosia, but now that I have washed my hair I can see just how uneven my haircut is. The cut was done by Sam who is a very nice person but I don’t think I would trust him to do my hair again. On top of that the cut and highlights were almost $400 which is absolutely insane. I am so sad to have spent that much on my hair and to come out of it with such a carelessly done haircut. I would go back to Gosia for the colour because she was fantastic, but unfortunately this salon is not worth the crazy prices. I will be looking elsewhere.

I am very happy with my experience at Parlour's Ossington location. Receptionist made me feel welcome. First time haircut with Egor and he exceeded my expectations. I had long thick hair and he knew exactly what to do with it. Manager stopped by to say hello and asked how my day was. Other stylists seemed friendly too chatting away with their clients. Great location and easy to get to by transit. I'd recommend to anyone!

A little empathy from the salon could have saved me from writing this review, but the guy I spoke to about getting this fixed was cold, rude and chalked this up to 'not liking my haircut. ' I think the photo speaks for itself; it's a bit more than not 'liking' it.

I understand mistakes happen (re: haircut), and I appreciate them getting me in (although two days later), but the customer service or lack thereof I received when calling in was unacceptable. Do better.

Consistently excellent haircuts and friendly service. I've had several different stylists over the years and I have never been disappointed. I've also brought my kids here who are tweenagers and they've had really positive experiences. It's not inexpensive but it's appropriately priced for the excellent quality and service.

Previously, I'd written a good review. As my hair has settled, turns out it is not a very good cut after all. Though my hair is fine, I have a lot of it as well as a bit of a wave. The stylist scissored/razored it to thin it out which has left it feeling straw like and with the humidity SO incredibly fly away. STYLISTS PLEASE DON'T USE A RAZOR TECHNIQUE ON FINE HAIR! This was done after I requested coming back in as the original cut was heavy and not well shaped. I am SO frustrated with trying to find a good stylist who can give me a lovely layered cut. I bring pictures to give ideas, and am tired of being told that 'it is the styling, and her hair is different'. What am I to do! I found a great stylist, but as she is in Guelph, and now being in Toronto; not very practical. All I can do now is let it grow out and start again! I would also like to add that the customer service/front line person's attitude left a lot to be desired. I certainly didn't feel welcomed as I was not greeted very warmly. I have never gone back.

Amazing Salon. Amity did an incredible job on my hair! I've been miserable with my hair for the last two years and she finally made me feel confident in myself! Great salon and great prices! Will be coming back to this salon and her in the future!:)

I had long hair for a very long time and was really nervous to cut it. But Francisco guided me on what would look good on me and he was very friendly too. Really loved it and would recommend everyone to go there.

This place is the best! Jenna was so amazing. She took my hair from almost black to a lovely lighter brown. If you are looking for someone to do balayage, I definitely recommend seeing Jenna. She listens to the wants while also expressing what is best for your hair/what is possible. Also, the salon itself is super clean - i felt super safe during the craziness in the city. Looking forward to seeing Jenna again soon!

I came to Parlour on a whim as I needed my balayage and cut done before an event I have coming up this week. I explained to Amity what I wanted done, and obviously, with any major change, it takes a while to get used to. Amity provided me with such reassurance and made sure I was happy with the end result. I have never been this pleased with my hair and I’m so glad I took the plunge and stepped out my comfort zone. I will definitely be returning to Parlour for my touch ups and my cuts.

NO JOKE, my hair has NEVER looked as good as it did today when I walked out of the salon! (And apparently these waves look even better day two, so that may change tomorrow- haha.) Beyond impressed with Shaunna who not only gave me an amazing haircut, but also patiently listened to all my hair questions (there were a lot) and gave me so many helpful tips. Very friendly stylist who knows her stuff, and loved that she walked me through what she was doing as well as how to style my own hair at home. I've had haircuts in the past that felt rushed, but with Shaunna I really felt like she took the time and care to make me look my best. Also- didn't plan this, but ended up buying some products because my hair has never felt sooooooo soft. Thank you Shaunna, I LOVE my hair and will definitely be back!:)

Jay has been doing my hair for a while now, she is seriously the most skilled amazing hair scientist (as I call her). The last do she did for me was phenomenal. Jay is lovely and smart in the fact that she balances what you want/desire with what is possible and is always thinking through on how to provide the best possible hair experience possible and how to maintain a healthy mane without sacrificing hair quality and style. Highly recommend her, i've never been so happy with my hair. Well worth it!

On 14feb 2020 I had an appointment to cut and highlight my hair. I had Amity for me. I was greeted and offered a drink at the reception. Amity quickly came in to start working. She understood my requirements and then we discuy the hair for. She was really patient. I have pretty long hair and it was tedious for her. Yet, she did all the foiling very well. Her work was well done. I look forward to do my hair next time as well. Thanks Amity. The price was $300 for 4hours. Considering the length of my hair, I am happy with it.

Really poor experience. Showed photos of what I wanted and explained I wanted blended, cascading layering, the hair dresser did not listen at all and gave me a blunt cut with little to no layering at all. I politely asked twice for her to cut it the way I asked after she was done but she was very rude, said it just wasnt possible (even though she said she could do it before she started cutting), she was just unable to figure it out. Really dissapointing and confusing seeing as though I showed photos. I recently got a hair cut that was half the price and it was exactly what I was looking for, so I know it was possible and it just shows parlor hair dressers have limited expertise.

Savannah did an incredible job! My hair looks amazing and she offered a ton of extremely helpful advice for how to care for and style it based on my troublesome hair. Highly recommend.

I found Zack a couple years ago and even though I now live several hours away from Toronto, I will never let him go. My hair is naturally fine and limp, and even being platinum blonde I've never had such full, healthy hair as I do with his treatment. Zack's reflexology techniques when rinsing are an added bonus and will leave you melting in your chair.

Zack is next-level talented, caring, and knowledgeable about his craft. I can tell him he can do whatever he wants with my hair, and I'm never disappointed. On top of his incredible skill, he's also extremely personable and his great energy will make you super comfortable in his chair as though you've known him for years.

I was truly blown away by my haircut with Colleen today! I have never felt so heard by a hair stylist before and left truly feeling like I got what I really wanted. Such a good listener, a great conversationalist, and an even better hair cut.

My stylist (Savanna) was very meticulous during the service and I really appreciated her honesty when I shared my inspiration photos during the consultation to manage my expectations of how blonde I would be at the end of the appointment. I understand that I was initially booked in for balayage but we adjusted to a full head of highlights after our discussion, however this meant the appointment time went over what was initially scheduled.

Once my hair was toned, I was handed over to an assistant to finish the wash and style. I had no issue with this, and fully understood the circumstance. However, I was promised a scalp massage by the stylist and this was not done by the assistant. When I got up from the sink, my back was completely soaked. The blowdry took over 30 minutes, and by that time my appointment had reached over 4 hours and had to leave for any other engagement, so I had to leave without getting any curls or straightening done.

Although the hair colour and cut went well, and although I had no problem with having an assistant finish the appointment, my experience was turned sour when I had to leave the salon with a wet back in -10 weather and very unhappy with the style, especially when I paid over $350.

Incredible work by Chris. He literally saved me hair from an awful bleach work at another salon. I came absolutely crashed and he turned the disaster that my hair was around. Thank you thank you

I have been seeing Savanna for over three years and I absolutely love her! I travel across the city every couple of months because she is the best I have ever found! She takes great care in all that she does to keep my color and cuts looking great and on-trend. Her work is meticulous and she won’t let me leave the salon until everything is perfect and we’re both 100% happy with the results. Not to mention she’s nice and super cool! Five + stars for Savanna!

I went with Jay as my stylist and couldn't be more pleased! I needed a haircut badly as my hair was long, lifeless and had lots of split ends. I wanted to keep some of the length still, and she did exactly that. She was very attentive to my needs, confirmed that I was happy with the length, and then cut in some long layers. Definitely will be coming back for a trim. Thank you!

I've truly never been happier with a haircut or colour than when stepping out of stylist Chris’ chair. I recently went to Parlour for a cut and balayage and was so pleased with the results that I've returned to see Chris three times in as many months. Chris is personable, professional, and very talented. Highly recommended!

I was dreaming of a change and decided to commit to going from my black box dye to blond. Meet Magic ANTON! He is simply amazing. Very professional and knowledgeable. I'm almost completely blond and it didnt take long at all. My hair is in great shape and I really owe it all to him. If you want someone who's just the complete package - book ANTON!:) :) :)

Well, it was another example when a hight price doesn't meet hight standards/realistic expectations.
Giving 3 stars as a credit in a hope you become better but won't come back to verify. Otherwise reduce the price.

Here is the list of item to work on:
1. A good interior designer to be invited for remodeling. I felt like in an office
2. Bar should provide not only regular coffee, rubbish tea from a convince store, but alcohol as well unless there is local regulations parenting it
3. An assistant needed for hair wash with a goal to spend more time on scalp massage. It wasn't a strong side of my stylist
4. A good customer experience always starts from a receptionist. During my phone calls or in person interaction I didn't feel being welcomed.

The outcome of my haircut was good. A stylist was attentive and trying to do here best.

I have been going to see Martha since she was a Junior stylist. She is great at cutting my short thick hair and I would not trust anyone else with my hair! She is so sweet and friendly and always makes me feel relaxed when I make the long trek downtown from Vaughan! She is worth it!

Meg P was absolutely fantastic and did a wonderful job taking my hair from black to copper/ginger. She was able to achieve the results I wanted in one visit without compromising the health of my hair.

Received my first balayage by Colleen and the result was fantastic! She was so lovely throughout and now I'm in love with my new hair. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, would highly recommend!

If I could I would give this salon 100 stars, I would! I had the privilege of getting Colleen (I am so sorry if I misspelled her name) to fix my hair, she mentioned that she had only been there for a month, but oh my, she is a PRO. I came in with a disaster that was made on my hair the previous week from another salon, it was bleached and yellow and just so bad. She was soooo nice and soo approachable, you could see she loved her work! She assure me that she could fix what had been done to my hair and took me through all the steps. I knew It was going to look better than what I had, but honestly it.wow it blew my mind, she went above and beyond! She not only fix my bleached hair, but she made it look exactly (and even better) to what I wanted all along. Honestly, can't recommend this place enough! She is FANTASTIC! My hair looks BEAUTIFUL, looks HEALTHY. Everyone there was so friendly, even the front desk staff, she was lovely. Everyone made me feel super confident. The best EXPERIENCE, I've ver had. Martha is best ever!
Super talented hair artists here. Peep their website for photos of each and every person's work. You can choose between 4 levels of stylists (depending what you would like, as well as, the price you're comfortable paying). I've searched high and low before trying them. I don't plan on leaving any time soon. Best results I've ever had. The hair I've always wanted has finally been achieved, properly and relatively healthily.

Great for cuts- saw Jo a month ago and loved her and my cut. However, I saw Josh a few days ago for Balayage. I have warm brown hair and wanted some lighter tones throughout to create more depth. Showed a few photos as well. The end result is barely noticeable at all, friends that knew I was getting my hair done asked me if I even went. I am very disappointed, especially after being referred. Paid $250 to look basically the same. For this price, there are far better salons and colourists in the city.
