I had a really important package of business documents that was meant to arrive via UPS at my address in Guelph. The package was instead delivered to and signed for by someone at PDI (without my knowledge). They kept the package and did not bother to contact me, even though they noted it was not meant for them, and my phone number and correct address was clearly on the package!
If they had called me to tell me they had it, I would have driven over to pick it up right away. Instead I spent 24 hours trying to figure out where my package had gone, frustrating phone calls with UPS (this was an urgent package so I could not wait 10 days for UPS to "resolve" the issue) and only found the package through trial and error.
PDI: Please do not sign for packages that are clearly not addressed to you. If you do sign for them by mistake, then please contact the original recipient to let them know you have their package.
