Pediadent - Ottawa Pediatric dentistry

Very unimpressed with the services and client managemement. Nothing special or different from a non-paediatric clinic. I will likely look for another place closer to home and without paid parking.

My daughter had a surgery in the tooth park clinic 2weeks ago and everything was good. Very nice experience for me the dr and all of the team are so friendly and they explained everything to me. I Recommend

Incredible team. Everything went perfectly for my daughter. She had general anesthesia, and the whole did alot for it to go well. I absolutely recommend any parent to bring their child. Thank you so much!

I'm just curious why this dental office is charging clients who are covered by Healthy Smiles for cleanings and then directing them to apply for the Canada Dental Benefit when they are NOT eligible to apply. This office claims to have done their "homework" on this matter and clearly has NOT. The government has confirmed the client is NOT eligible for the Canada Dental Benefit and would be required to pay back the benefit if she had applied. So now, after paying for a cleaning that should have been covered in the 1st place by Healthy Smiles, they now have to make a claim with Healthy Smiles to *hopefully* be reimbursed for the cleaning.

Word of advice, stop directing clients to apply for a Benefit that they are not eligible for.

My 9 year old daughter needed her baby molar extracted as it was causing her a lot of discomfort. As my little one is quite anxious, everyone was suggesting general anesthesia. After much research, I decided to make an appointment with Pediadent Ottawa. You may have a hard time getting through the lines as they are extremely busy, but once you do get through, you can be sure to get an excellent service. My first encounter was with the receptionist, Sakina, who was absolutely delightful. She patiently answered all of my questions and gave me an appointment for consult with Dr. Raj a couple of days later. Dr. Raj and his assistant Jen, exceeded my expectations. My daughter was afraid to take x-rays so Jen spent a lot of time trying to convince her and went as far as wearing the protection apron herself to help her through it. When she was unsuccessful, Dr. Raj, personally wore the apron and accompanied my daughter through the process. Although we were only booked for a consult, recognizing that the visit was traumatizing enough for my daughter, he patiently convinced my daughter to have her tooth extracted the same day. Dr. Raj was extremely busy that day. All I can say is that if you happen to be the one waiting for him, know that he and his staff will also give you the full attention you need.

They have been the dentist for my kids for almost 4 years now, and we are so satisfied by their service. Highly recommended

The dentists and staff are nice, but they have a weird way of dealing with private insurence, which leads to unexpected charges and making it harder to decide the most cost effective plan for ur kid

I took my 3 year old and 5 year old for a first time dental check up. The process went smoothly, both the dental hygienist and Dr. Ouatik were very patient and both my kids enjoyed their check-up. They try their best to mantain a good relationship with their patients which is the most important aspect of any relationship. Overall, I am happy with this experience and recommend this clinic.

My daughter has ADHD and Anxiety and normally our dentist visits end without any treatment being completed. We were referred to Pediadent and were so impressed with their level of patience and kindness towards my daughter. I highly recommend them.

The Lady That Was Looking After
My Son Today Was Amazing.
Last Year My Son Was So Scared. Had To Have Everything Done In Montreal. Knocked Out. This Year He Sat Though Having Cap Put On Tooth. Wow So Happy. Thanks

If I could give this a 0 star, I would. Maybe my expectations are too high. But this place is way overpriced for an awful experience and I will never be bringing my daughter back. I basically paid $250 for a balloon lol.
1st off, the text messages are just too much, too often, they are half English half French and dont really make much sense in either language lol.when it tells you to download the app, don't bother, it doesn't allow you to log in.
2nd, parking is not free. Our appointment took about 10mins total, but the waiting around took longer.it cost $12 for parking.
3rd, when you arrive, you have to text that you've arrived.you are instructed to stay in the hallway until called upon.this hallway is tiny.think like a small apartment kind of tiny.there are no chairs to sit on out there. I am VERY pregnant, so I was not happy about this.
4th, and final.the actual appointment: I booked an exam and cleaning.what we got was xrays, and the dentist coming in for no more than 3 minutes to do his exam.and no cleaning or any type of scaling.again, this 10 minute appointment cost $250.now I have to go make another appointment with another dentistry to get the job done correctly.what a waste of time and money.please don't waste yours.it's too valuable.

Excellent experience to visit them for the first time. Be patient to explain the procedure for dental treatment and prevention. Will book another appointment and highly appreciated their professional service.

Just pray that this older tall blonde dental hygienist is having a good day the day of your appointment. She shouldn't be around kids with this attitude. Couldn't go in with my son because his father was already in the room, and they didn't want me to watch from the hallway door.

I sought out a pediatric dentist because my 2 year old son has had medical trauma and now has anxiety. The only parking is in the dimly lit underground garage, and due to covid this was my son's first experience in an underground garage and in an elevator- both were scary for him so at 8 months pregnant I had to carry him while he was afraid. Then we got to the office and it turns out there was a mix-up with the scheduling (they had us in the system for an hour later than we were told to come in). No one said anything about us being an hour early, and of course we didn't know, so we waited, and waited, and waited. They gave me a clipboard with many pages of forms to fill out, all while watching my 2 year old and trying to keep him entertained and away from other patients- I wish this had been sent digitally in advance. I was disappointed that for a pediatric dentist, the waiting room was NOT child friendly at all. Very difficult to entertain a toddler for an hour in a stuffy room filled with people, and no books, toys, or even pictures on the wall to look at. You could say this is because of covid, but we've been to CHEO several times during the pandemic and they have toys available, that they sanitize between uses. So I was expecting a bit more from a pediatric dentist. After about 45 minutes of waiting, and seeing patient after patient go in ahead of us, I finally asked the receptionists if it would be our turn soon, and was bluntly told that "your appointment time isn't for another 15 minutes. " I told them that we had been told to come in almost an hour ago, and they had no solution but to keep waiting. We decided to leave without seeing a dentist, but as we were in the hall making an appointment at my ('adult') dentist, a dentist came out looking for us and offered us a different waiting room (also without any toys, books, or pictures on the wall). They gave my son a lollipop though so I guess that's the 'pediatric' part? When we saw the dentist about ten minutes later, she was nice and knowledgeable, and patient with my son. The exam rooms are only separated by curtains so again, difficult to contain a 2 year old (who has been waiting for over an hour). Again in the exam rooms, nothing seemed to be geared toward children (no toys, art on the walls, etc. Just another lollipop.) When we went to leave, they asked me to book the follow up and I told them I would book later as I had my hands full with my son, who wanted out of there. While driving home, I got a phone call from them that the dentist "wants you to book the follow up *right now*. " I found this strange and pressuring. (there was no medical reason for an urgent follow up). Maybe they are having a hard time keeping patients? I won't be bringing my son back. I gave 2 stars for the nice dentists, but the rest of the experience was a disappointment.

Dana and Dr. Dinah were amazing with my 8 year old who is terrified of having dental work done. They made him comfortable and included him in the discussion about his upcoming treatment plan. Thank you for being so good with him!

Ma fille de 14 mois a eu un accident et s'est cassée une dent.

J'ai contacté une autre clinique d'Ottawa et j'avais plusieurs mois d'attente. Cependant vu l'état de la dent, nous savions que ma fille allait devoir voir un spécialiste rapidement.

Nous avons contacté la clinique pediadent et le lendemain, nous avions un rendez-vous.

Le personnel est chaleureux et cordial. Il parle anglais et français.

De plus, ceux-ci tentent d'offrir la meilleure expérience pour l'enfant même si cela est difficile par moment.

Je recommande fortement!

The hygienist by the name of Vivi was amazing with my son with special needs. She also was so patient with my daughter who is super anxious with dentists. Definitely going back! Made the whole experience pleasant:)

Incredibly clean in terms of hygiene, friendly staff. I have changed dentists twice in the last 5 years. We are very lucky to have found the right place. I recommend extremely!

My son has been to different paediatric dentistry’s in the pass 7 years, he had a his first visit at Pediadent because due to the pandemic his regular dentist couldn’t see him and I most say that after his visit I’ve decided that Pediadent will be his regular dentistry from now on, I was extremely pleased! I would highly recommended it.

Amazing dental office. The hygienist are so patient with little ones! My son loves going to the dentist it’s always a great experience. The new silver treatment seems to be working amazing highly recommend this dentist for kids very well organized and clean.

I just want to give a shoutout to Dr. Ouatik and his team. Wonderful staff and hardworking. They're amazing with kids and made every experience for my 3 yr old a fantastic one.

This is the best place ever! I went with my son who normally never feels comfortable with dentist appointment. We have had a tremendous and pleasant time in the clinic. The staff is outstandingly friendly. They have such a professional experience that kept my heart. My son was happier than ever. Dr Ouatik and the restorative dental hygienist Eiz had the best technic to have my son feel comfortable and confident. Thank you Eiz for showing so much patience, kindness and sympathy with my son. I highly recommend this place for kids.

I don't recommend this clinic at all
My 2 year old had a minor accident where he chipped his tooth and I booked an appointment right away at this clinic. Their booking system and appointment scheduling is the worst I've seen during Covid- We waited 50 minutes in the waiting room full of people, with a toddler who wants to go near everyone and touches everything. I have been to so many Dr's offices over the past year, and never had to wait this long let alone with so many people in the room!
Finally when we did get called into a room, a hygienist welcomed us and told us she couldn't provide any diagnosis and we AGAIN had to wait for the Dr.for another 20 minutes to come in and examine my son. They didn't have any sort of protocol as to how to welcome a toddler who's never been to a dentist, didn't offer any sort of toy or any welcoming warm words to calm him down, and when the Dr.did come into the room, they held my son down on the chair while he was hysterically screaming to check his tooth. Dr Ouatik gave us a very rushed diagnosis without even taking an x-ray and simply said taking x-ray wasn't possible due to my son's age.
Due to the horrible experience, I booked an appointment with another pediatric clinic in town, we didn't have to wait at all and were brought into the examine room right away, and they did actually take an x-ray of my child's tooth to provide a through examination.

I had a great experience with the Hygienist Eiz assistant Mirna and dr Ouatik. Very professional team, well-organized. Also my kids feel happy when they know that they will go to Pediadent. I highly recommend it for all family's who cares about their kids.

I took my little one there, we first saw a lady who said she was the dental assistant. We chatted a little, meaning she was answering only questions I asked. Then the dentist came 40 mins after we my child sat on the chair. He had a mask on & didn't even have the decency of saying hello or pulling his mask down and reassure my child will be ok.
Smallest things can make a big difference. I would strongly suggest parents to have tylenol/advil on hand because as soon as the freezing wears out your child will start screaming from pain

I really appreciate the way the staff attended ma boy, giving him the opportunity to watch his favorite cartoon Pawpatrol while they were taking care of his teeth. The Dr also offered free consultation for my second boy
I am satisfied and reccomend people to pediatric Dentistry

I had two different experiences with this doctor.
The first was before their office renovations, the staff was spectacular the doctor too.
After the renovations, everything changed, don’t know why, the doctor don’t talk to kids or parents, the work was very bad done, I had to see another doctor to re-do the work.

They were really great amazing with kids awesome at keeping my kid distracted while she was getting her teeth done I highly recommend Pediadent for anyone with kids thank you to the great team at Pediadent.
