Penske Truck Rental

I’ve used Eastern Penske to rent my trucks for my small moving company in Toronto! Chris provides exceptional customer service. Every time I go in, the trucks are cleaned and inspected thoroughly for any previous damage. He also gets the trucks out in a quick timely manner (compared to other rentals where you could be waiting 15-40 minutes). Would definitely recommend this penske!

I’ve been working with Penske more so Chris out of Toronto for over the last month and couldn’t be happier with the service he’s provided and how quickly he will answer and get something done.

If I ever need to rent a truck, Penske is my go-to. Their trucks are reliable and kept in good shape, and the guy who runs the Eastern location has been extremely helpful in reserving trucks for me. If he doesn't have what I'm looking for, he'll see if there are any available at other locations. I highly recommend this location! Great trucks, great service!

Trucks are clean & good condition. Cust service was good, but invoicing gets messy. The price at booking might be a different total that gets charged: Check your cc bills for accuracy.

Great truck. Very clean and ran great. Chris helped us. Nice and friendly person and explained everything to us.

Lots of hidden costs and at the end of the day much more expensive than their competitors. The online quote seems reasonable. This is not what you will end up paying. The employee who checked us in was good and efficient. The employee who was working when we returned the van was smug and rude. Tried to resolve the remainder of the bill via debit. He told us they dont accept debit. I am pretty confident this was a lie. Then offered to pay the balance in cash and was told that Penske doesn't accept cash which is a strange policy given that they are a business in Canada that accepts cash. Finally just paid it since I had other things to do with my life than stand around being lied to. For what it is worth, I was moving someone from Belleville to St. Thomas Ontario. 6 weeks prior to that, my brother in law did the same exact move. He went with a different company and his cost was about 30% cheaper. The competitors offer better service and better prices. Dont go here.

I would not recommend. I ask the guy about the poor reviews. He said that was in the past. Well this is what happen. I booked online a 18 ft truck with a liftgate. I also called to confirm that the truck I was renting had a liftgate. And also there were charging 0.79 cents per km. Oh yes. The guy said he would reduce to 0.40 cents a km only because I'm going approx 300kms. Well the guy gets the truck out. 18 ft truck no liftgate. He then calls the number I had confirm all the info. And says the guy does remember talk about the lift gate. Just about the price of the kms. The guy at the location said that every truck was sold out. But he did say know that he can rent me the truck with the liftgate for $100.00 per day and 0.40 cents a km. I then refused the rental as that was no what I required. I then had to call and cancel my pick ups for that Saturday and reschedule for the following Saturday. All I can say to Penske. You lost my business for life. You should always try to work with the customer to resolve the situation and try to help them. Not tell them sorry can help you.

Waaaaay over priced. Wouldn't let me use a coupon code at the service desk. A week later I rented the same size van for exactly 1/2 the price from Budget at Front & Parliament.

The team at Penske Truck Rental (Eastern Avenue) is amazing. I have been renting from this location for over 10 years and with the transition in the past year (or so) to Penske trucks, it’s been the best move, ever. Everyone who sees me now with a Penske versus competitors (Uhaul) remark on the vehicles and are nothing but impressed by these trucks (I get asked all the time how they are & all things I have to say are nothing but extremely positive). I am happy to be working with this group and renting these amazing vehicles. My colleagues/clients are super impressed I have gone in this direction of renting a higher end cargo vehicle. 100% worth it.

The trucks are awesome to drive, clean, and I love that you can fully stand up in the back of the cabin (Sprinter Van) so it’s not hard on your back (in regular cargo vans I’ve had to hunch over, which takes its toll on your lower back after a few minutes; this makes moves challenging for me). Roomy, spacious, smooth drive. Comfortable seats. Penske is my go-to, hands down, and this location fits the bill.

The team as well as the front desk is amazing, professional and extremely thorough. I feel that the service was far above and beyond any other rental agency that I have used (I have been renting Sprinter/Cargo vans and 10-14’ trucks for 12+ years, on a very regular basis, so am very familiar with all of the agencies out there). Highly recommend this location as the service is spot on and they have always been helpful in accommodating last minute requests. A+ all around.

Good rate, the service is quick and clear. The invoice at the end of the day was exactly as the estimate, no surprises!

Prices were fair, truck was great, and Saad was a pleasure to deal with. Really appreciated his kindness and excellent customer service skills.

We rented a truck from them in October. The manager was quite sensitive to competitive prices, which was a plus. Something he very much FAILED to do was walk us through the disclosure agreement. This was where things turned quite sour. We received a random additional charge on my cc with no notice for double the rental agreement a month later. Weird. FYI, you are charged for tolls and highway driving if you rent a truck. Additional, each photo the camera takes of you on the highway is an additional $50. When we asked Penske how this could happen without anyone giving us a breakdown of simple rules of engagement, they stated that this information is in that small print pamphlet that is provided to you. UNBELIEVABLE. Not that the information is there, but that there are certain things you would think would be called out to you as you are the customer and they are in the customer service industry, besides fulling up the gas tank. NOT to mention, you are on a time limit for rentals, are they really wanting you to take out your bifocals and sit and read the full pamphlet? I am appalled. Not for the charge but for the lack of ability to do the right thing. So. NO we would not recommend this company.

I found this company one of the worst I ever have dealt with. The female manager of the Eastern Avenue location (name unknown) will not give a straight answer seems to know less about the truck we rented then we do or is purposely avoiding answering my questions with diesel
consumptions and issue with the gas gage. Very bad service, I do not recommend anyone to use this service my personal opinion of this company is a rating of 0/10. We ended up using this company because a time delay with another rental company. Next time we will deal with the delay rather then ever taking a chance with PENSKE. Do not give them your credit card will keep charging. This company logo should be OVERPROMISING and PROVIDING NO DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
PS Also was not advise vehicle needed to add DFL and was struck on side of highway! Disgusting.
