My recent visit to this location was so wonderful! The sales associate named Grace was so welcoming and made me feel so valued! I am not well educated on jewelry so I had many questions to ask but she was so patient throughout our interaction. I am so appreciative of the experience I had because jewelry stores intimidate me a lot. Grace you were amazing! Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Bought a necklace for my daughter. She wore it twice and it snapped. I couldn’t go to the store for 3 months as I was busy with moving so I wrote in their website about the issue but I never received a response.then I went and took it to store after 4 months. The store assistants said they can’t do anything as I did not buy a warranty. I asked them what about the quality of product you are selling. Is it the standard of peoples jewellers? They had no answer to that but they did nothing. I never expected such service from people’s.

I wanted to buy a nice gift for my mother. I bought a beautiful necklace and sprung for EXPRESS SHIPPING. The estimate said Oct. 10 which was generous considering once I got the tracking number I learned I’d have to wait till NOVEMBER. I tried to cancel my order through customer service but they just danced around it and tried to pass me around to other representatives, engaging in semantics. This is possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. I advise anyone looking to buy anything to take their money elsewhere.

This store and website is not very good. I checked with an agent on the Peoples website to see if I could get a jewelry appraisal done at the store while I wait and the agent confirmed this. I went to the store and asked them about this service, first they said they don’t offer jewelry appraisals at all. After my insistence they checked with management and said they do have that service but it wasn’t immediate and it wasn’t done on site- even though this was confirmed by the agent. Unacceptable and a complete waste of my time.

I went to this place approximately a month ago and was extremely disappointed with the service here. The lady that was showing me some earrings said I damaged the earrings and that I should be "more delicate" next time. The reason why I am giving 1 star is that both earrings were damaged even before I touched them. Sadly, I was in a rush so I could not speak with the manager there. And sad for the business as well because even if I am a regular jewelry customer in other places I will never buy anything here. And the way customers are treated is a reflection of how unhappy someone is in their own life!

I have had similar experience to the previous reviews listed below. I bought a diamond ring online and within two weeks of wear a small diamond fell out. I took it into the store for repair and waited 4 months to get any progress and notifications and from there I was told may take up to 6 months total for a small diamond repair! Thank goodness for the online customer care, Mariam understood my frustration and escalated my issue and was able to help me. Combined with Gina the store manager they were both excellent help at resolving my issue and making me some what of a happy customer again.

My partner and I went to this location to buy rings. And we were extremely happy with the service by one of the male managers. I can’t remember his name but it started with S. He really took his time showing us numerous options. In the end we decided on the rings in the picture. Thank you so much for making our experience memorable. Went in with my best friend who's set to be engaged soon, wanted to get her ring size and try on a few rings to find out what style we like. There was 4 women working and 2 other customers. NO ONE acknowledged us or greeted us, they wouldn't even look our way. It took over 30 minutes just for someone to come over and ask if we needed help! Eventually a lady very reluctantly came over to allow her to try on rings. The Whole time she had such a attitude and didn't ask her questions or even try and make small talk. This was supposed to be the start of the whole engagement/marriage experience and sadly it was ruined by this stuck up b! @$#s

I visited this location a while ago with my partner for some early Christmas shopping. We were not acknowledged at all by staff but they greeted and offered to help every other person who came into the store (which was not even busy). Even after expressing interest in some pieces in front of one of the employees we were not offered help. Absolutely horrible customer service. We took our business and money elsewhere.

My partner got me a ring here which ended up breaking a few weeks later when I was moving furniture. The manager was very good and replaced the ring for free! Very happy about that.

Very Very disappointed. I bought a necklace the sales person said I have lifetime warranty. Need repair bring it and we will help not true. Wore it one time the chain cut. The manager said i have to pay to repair it. Did not even talk to me nicely. This was my first and will be my last. I never have problems with Michael Hills

Not an Indigenous-safe place to shop.
I was trying to purchase a ring at this location. The worker lady was very rude when I said I would like to use my status card for tax exemption. She said "Really.it's a complicated process and involves filling out a large sheet? ". I said "That's ok". She "Fine! " And through up her hand in this rude gesture and walked to the cash register. I knew from the beginning that the form isn't complicated and it wasn't. It's the standard 3 lines of information every store asks me to fill out. Then she continued to give me this rude attitude because their tap function wasn't working on their card machine for my Mastercard. So I had enough and said I will get it at another Peoples store.
Workers here are rude and need some training on how to deal with customers. I wouldn't recommend shopping here.

Had a great experience with Aarfa! Sooooo nice and she listened and helped me find exactly what I was looking for! I did not feel rushed or hurried even though I went close to closing time, she really cared and even went to check other options for me like 3 times! I walked into a different people’s literally 2 weeks ago and had such a bad experience! Aarfa really redeemed the stores reputation for me! Will definitely be back!

I had similar experiences with the reviews on here. There was this one lady who at first was nice to me assuming I would spend a lot due to my multiple shopping bags. Guided me where to put them in the back for less hassle and when I asked her specifically what I wanted she informed me that they didn’t have what I was looking for. So we moved on to other necklaces but since nothing caught my eye I wanted to leave but she kept pushing me to just buy it and if I didn’t like it I could bring it back. Yeah, no but still she kept insisting. As soon as wanted to get my bags she become kind of mean, no eye contact and just dismissive. Sorry hun but that’s retail for you high end or not, not everyone is going to walk out with a purchase worth hundreds. First time ever in a jewelry store and that was my experience. Nice.

This is the worst location of all peoples jewelries in canada. Went in the store and only 2 employees working (I guess it due to covid-19). I asked the lady that I need to clean/ inspect my jewelries today, but she told me cleaning is at pause right now and only inspect is allowed. I told her ill wait for her to be available to inspect my jewelries. After a while I waited, she told me that they are very busy and ask me to come back later. I told her I can wait for her to be available but she said she have others waiting because they are buying the jewelries. I cannot believe what I heard. Basically, she only going to help customers who are buying and not help me who had brought so many people's jewelries in the past. They are not honoring their warranty. This is not the first time i had bad customer service from this location. I will take my jewelries to the square one location from now on. I had never had bad customer service from the square one location.this location need to train their staff properly because all they care about is making sales. This is so unprofessional.

I patronized this store to purchase a pair of diamond earrings. To start with I got no assistance. When I was finally acknowledged by the sales associate, I told her that I wanted to purchase the earrings. No greeting from her, but the first thing she said was if I wanted to purchase a warranty. No "Hello, how may I help you? " When I purchased the earrings, she did not celebrate the sale, she seemed preoccupied with having to serve another. Deplorable service, but I wanted the earrings as it was a birthday present. Never again. It is no surprise that the company has a terrible rating. This is the first and last time ever at this establishment. I truly expected better.

I have never been treated so poorly as I was going to this location. We came here looking for a wedding band to match my engagement ring which was custom made elsewhere. At that visit although we found a band we liked and we purchased it, we had to put up with your salesperson putting down my engagement ring to try and up sell us on having new rhodium plating. Today I came to pick up the band from being sized and had to wait 30 minutes for a sales person to actually help me instead of actively moving away from me. Finally being helped to pick up our purchase but she barely said 2 words to us, I had to ask for a box for my new ring and she dropped the box in the bag and left it on the counter and walked away from us. Worst customer service, I have never felt so small and awful in my life. Will never purchase for any of this companies locations ever again.

Came in today for an earring backing (I bought my earrings here and recently lost one of the backings). I tried to engage with an employee who was not serving a customer - she immediately and loudly cut me off saying "I can't help you. Wait in the middle" *all store employees and customers stare*. Awkward. 10 minutes later I am finally being served with another employee - who was also having a bad day apparently. I thought the price was a bit high for 10k gold so I asked if they had anything else and she said: "That's all we have take it or leave it". I didn't say goodbye I just turned around and left. I found a 14k backing at a private jeweler less than a half hour later for half the price.

The staff member I was dealing with was incredibly rude when he found out I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money and was looking for a cheaper gem. Didn't bother to help me at all and just muttered under his breath that I was wasting his time while I was looking at jewellery. Terrible experience, do not shop here unless you're expecting to spend lots or the staff will be quite off-putting.

I just wanted them to do something as simple as adding a clamp that fell off and they initially refused to do it because they couldn’t figure out if the chain was silver or gold, and then they said it would be over $150! Worst service!

I walked in to check out what kind ring bands they had, the woman who “helped” me was very rude and looked down at me as if I were less of a person, and couldn’t afford to shop there. She showed me around, and they didn’t have what I was looking for, which was fine. However, I asked her if I could measure my ring finger size, and she just tosses me a hoop full of rings and goes back to talking with her coworkers. I tried a couple but couldn’t find a fit. She didn’t even try to assist me, to make my experience pleasant and easy. I left the hoop of rings down and walked away. She didn’t even say anything to close. I mean talk about disgraceful customer service.

Dear manager, if you’re reading this, consider my feedback. And if you’re seeking any employees, consider me. I will change the way people view this store for the better.

I rarely post bad reviews but I am inclined to here because of the multiple bad experiences I have had at this Peoples. I gave two stars because I did have a good experience with one of the sales people there and had a couple interactions with her that were pleasant. The rest of the staff here I find to be very rude and uninterested. I got both my wife’s and my wedding bands from Peoples. I got the insurance and that comes with unlimited resizing. I brought my ring to be resized and they said it would take 3 weeks. About 4 went by and I heard nothing, so I called and inquired. When I called to ask the status of my ring they told me it was ready to be picked up and I said that I hadn’t received a call or email saying that. The woman I was speaking to about my ring said then said “well maybe they did call you and you just didn’t pick up, don’t jump to the worst case scenario. ” If they did call me (which they didn’t) they didn’t leave a message and there was zero record on my phone? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I go in the next day and I say “I’m here to pick up my ring” the sales person doesn’t even acknowledge me. I go up to two other sales people and they aren’t very friendly either. This has been a constant experience for me at this location. The lack of acknowledgement and poor attitude makes me not want to come here or recommend them to anyone. I don’t feel like they want to help me at all or maybe they think I don’t actually have any business for them. Either way I won’t be returning.

I walked into here just to find out a ring size of someone else based off of a ring I had. I was asked for help promptly and got the information I needed very quickly.

I informed the staff I wasn’t shopping for anything today but they were still very helpful and never pushy about selling me something. When I do need something in the future I will check them out due to this experience.

Was a bit scary by bad reviews, but warranties/return policy was very nice, so decided to give a try and was really happy with them. The location can get busy, but rather then that they have a excellent service. Bought engagement ring there a year ago and have to resize twice, both times went smooth. Bought my wedding bands there too, didn't like them and return with ease as well. Did ring cleaning couple times as well and so far all experiences was very pleasant. (I always was buying warranties and maybe that made the difference)

The staff were very friendly but terribly messed up my plan. The first gentleman reassured me with great confidence that in spite of my approaching relocation, the store will be able to complete my ring repair and get it back to me before my moving (other wise I'd have brought the ring with me to the new city). It didn't happen. The repair department called me TWICE, informing me that the original quote of $70 was a mistake and it would actually cost me $170. I told them TWICE that it was beyond my budget and I would prefer to have my ring returned to me without repairing. Even though they did less than expected (calling me instead of preparing the ring), the ring got back to me one week after the promised date, when I was already in my new city five hours flight away. I believe the staff genuinely wished to help but they displayed less competence, unfortunately.

First of all, I have to say the diamonds are exceptionally beautiful to the point where I was going to shell out double what I was originally planning to spend (1k), however, I was sorely disappointed with the (lack of) service I received. Upon going into the store I was looking for someone to help me make a purchase for something that had caught my eye online. All the service reps were busy except for Erik, I made eye contact with him, but then he looked away, so I assumed he was busy doing something non-operational and so I started browsing. What did I see no more than 5 minutes later? Erik helping out a middle aged man who had entered the store after me. This man left the store shortly after (without making a purchase, might I add). Moments later, another middle aged man appeared, and what did Erik do? Helped him out of course! While all this happened, I continued to make eye contact with Erik (maybe 4 times in total?) To put things in perspective, I am in my 20s however, I still look like a teenager. Was this the reason as to why Erik didn’t even bother to say “hi”, or “I will be with you in a moment”, I guess you will only know if you ask Erik.

So I have never shopped at peoples until a few weeks ago and I was looking for a nice anniversary gift for my boyfriend. I’ve been to a people’s location elsewhere, but compared to this downtown location, this service was amazing. The guy was so welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and honest. I really liked this location b/c I actually felt like they respected and acknowledged me as a customer, unlike other locations where they treated me differently compared to the “older” customers. The worker named Eric who served me, was so nice, and gave in so much effort and time to find the best gift for me. I will surely come back to this location for their great service! <3

Probably one of the worst experiences I have had in terms of customer service and professionalism. The sales representative was very condescending and rude. I was given information of my online purchase and was told by the sales rep that I didn't receive that information and I was essentially wrong. She proceeds to say that she's worked at People's Jewellers for years so she's right. One would think that if someone worked in a customer service position for years they would have the necessary skills and exhibit proper behaviour when dealing with customers/clients. Perhaps this behaviour is endemic of the employees at this People's Jewellers given the number of other people who have had terrible experiences here. I would strongly suggest avoiding doing business with this People's Jewellers. They need to change their act significantly and be accountable and professional to the customers they serve and hope to gain.

My fiancée proposed to me with a ring from people’s jewellers that was absolutely beautiful. Within mere months of receiving it, then band broke and had to be sent away for repairs. We were told 3 weeks. It took a total of 6 weeks to be returned to me. Less than a year later, the band of my ring broke once again. I had only noticed after getting into the shower and taking it off, so I had not done anything extreme to cause it to break with my noticing. We sent it out once again, only to have it returned after a month the complete wrong size. The diamonds down each side of the band which were symmetrical, are now completely off balance, with one side having much less diamonds on the band then the original had. I now have to send it away again to be resized and have the diamonds replaced. I have had my engagement ring sent out for repairs and unable to wear it the majority of my engagement. This is heartbreaking and frustrating to have to deal with this constantly, with absolutely no guarantees or apologies about the damage and constant worry that it will one day break without my noticing and I will lose it. Horrible experience.

After reading multiple 1 star reviews about this location, I will take my ring to another people’s jewellers to see if I have a better experience.

The staff member I approached was rude and condescending when I asked questions. I was told conflicting information. Avoid Peoples at all cost but especially this location.
