There reputation says it all. Many generations in business at the same location. The staff.very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly. There prices will surprise you. They bet the boxes store on many things (but keep that a secret) high quality stuff. Always there to help

Don't buy your lumber from Home depot drive an extra 10 mins and give this place a try! Extremely knowledgeable staff and the quality of the wood is second to none.

We couldn't find exactly what we wanted here but on a hot day the staff working here gave us some free bottled water! Super nice people, would definitely recommend

Super friendly and always great service. The storefront is small but has the essentials and they are not afraid to directly you where to go if they dont carry somthing you need.

Went there today to buy 15 sheets of plywood and 20 pieces of lumber. I was helped by the owner and after asking for a higher grade 2 x 6 I was told that you get what you get at the top of the pile. I explained that I’m building a camper and I need straight pieces but he says you cannot pick through the pile. I drove all the way there because they were $20 cheaper on my complete order but after him being very rude I just decided to go to Home Depot where I could pick through any pieces I want and I was able to get straight material and The staff actually help me sort through nice number. Then they even help me load it in the truck. All staff were friendly. I have spent a lot of money at Perkins over the years and they will now lose me forever. I do not recommend this business whatsoever.

Wow. Amazing service. Walked in served right away. Gentleman showed me where everything was. They loaded up all big materials directly into the back of my truck. Service here is light years ahead of big box hardware stores. Very very impressed and highly recommend.

The staff here are very helpful. Last year I was completing a rather large build and was in here weekly. They get to know you by name. The are able to special order all kinds of parts - such as (real) farm door hardware - at very reasonable prices when compared to places like Richelieu, and they get them in faster.

Simply the best place and people to deal with for all your building material or hardware needs.

Not as good as it used to be. Went to purchase some more Western Red Cedar today. Bought some to build a deck last year. Apparently, last year someone "allowed" me to pick through what I needed. This year the Manager was yelling at me, "No Picking! No Picking! ". I'm sorry, but if I wanted to pay a premium for Western Red Cedar than shouldn't I be able to pick boards that have little knotting in them? If I wanted knots, on the other hand, I'd go to Home Depot or RONA. Definitely not the same level of service everyone keeps raving about anymore. The Manager was a complete jerk. Instead of helping me, he yells at me. I've spent over $2,000 at this place and this is how they treat me? No thanks, I'll go somewhere else next time.
