Super friendly and welcoming staff, decent selection of products for your pet's needs at great prices.

Bought 5 cat toys today, most are the same/average quality you'd find in other stores just a little more expensive because of the location. The laser pointer I bought doesn't work because the ring that screws the cap to the body is broken and wont unscrew to get the batteries in. It's a low quality product made in China being sold for 8$ because of the area. It's probably a fine store if you're in need but the product quality just isn't there for the price and I'm not going to try to return a cat toy. You're better off going to a bigger store or even a Dollarama or Walmart for the same product for cheaper if ones accessible to you. If not, supporting local is always a good idea too.

Classic pet store. Fish, birds, rodents, all sorts of critters. Dog and cat treats and food for all types of pets.

Great great options and supporting local is ALWAYS worth it. Employees are friendly and helpful, I go here semi-often to pick up Guinea pig supplies for my partner and I've never had an experience less than subpar. Love you, pet circus

GREAT Customer Service. Corresponded with the store with a few questions, Bob was always quick to respond, willing to help and polite:) Bought a aquarium kit and price was "Awesome" best in the city. Delivery fee was reasonable and it was delivered the next day, WOW! What else could I ask for. Thanks for everything!

One of the best pet stores in Ottawa. Source their animals locally and can special order. Good selection of everything but especially small animal, bird and reptile. Most staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall great place! Really great knowledge about pet rats from one of the employees Melanie.

I found the staff really attentive and inclusive. They were very eager to excite and educate my kids on all things pets.

Amazing local pet store! Arden was a great help in getting my two male rats. Both dumbo, one regular and one rex. Our go to place for sure!

Pet Circus is the only pet store we frequent and all of our furry friends have come from this store! All staff are super super friendly and are very helpful&knowledgeable if you have care questions. They have a really great selection of small animal and reptile related products, definitely superior to box stores. Prices are competitive or lower than box stores as well! They've been super accommodating when we ask them if they can source certain products for us that are harder to find. We've placed orders for Neo cages and Mazuri food through Pet Circus. If there's something you need that they don't have, please consider ordering through this local small business:)

More bunny toys than I've seen anywhere else in Ottawa so far. Super inclusive to a lot of animals beyond cats and dogs

Wonderful downtown pet store. Well stocked and with good selection. The owners usually give my pup a treat, so he loves going there!

Twice I've shopped here, and both times I've left completely satisfied. For a smaller pet store, they have quite the range of products and live stock. Thanks!

Nov 21-Today was a great day for coat shopping and picking up some fresh treats

Edited again Oct 22-I have continued to frequent this little store as my dog loves the fresh food they carry and the customer service is top notch.

Edited again Sept 3-each time I edit another star gets added as my experiences continue to improve on each visit. Today there was a warm welcome as soon as I walked in not to mention an employee who went above and beyond to check a policy for me.

Edited August 1-I have been back a few times and the service was a tad friendlier.

Original Review-This store is conveniently located near to where I live and I was hoping to have found a new place to purchase my pets products. The store is not welcoming and neither are the staff. When you walk in it feels cluttered and a little overwhelming with no signage indicating what is where and neither an employee to help out. On that note, when I did walk through and find an employee available, she gave me a brief hello and I got the impression that I was interrupting her. I perused the store and when I finally ran into said employee to ask her a question I literally got one word answers with no offer of assistance or even inquiry as to what my needs were. When I finally specified what my situation was she referred me to one product that she said her boss used for his dog. She then pointed to him (who at the time was on a latter and clearly busy) to say " there he is you can ask him so you know I am not lying". I did manage to get a little feedback from him with much prompting before making my first and possibly my last purchase at this store. There are a many pet stores in the area and I really appreciate good customer service, especially when exploring new products for my pets. The good news is that my dog did enjoy his first plate of the new recommended food. Hopefully that trend will last as he is quite picky. I try to support small business however that does come with certain expectations.

Super friendly staff, and the lady knew what she was talking about when it came to geckos. She helped me find everything I needed. It's kinda expensive but no more than any other pet store.

I got my three baby rats from here. One hairless dumbo (shrimp) one normal dumbo (honey) and one rex dumbo (badger). I can say they are wonderful there and was so excited i was getting them. I would recommend them over any big chain pet store!

Just ordered for delivery expecting it to take a few days but within less than an hour (!) I had my delivery at my door!

Went in to buy some cichlids and was very taken back by the conditions that their tanks were in. They were very poorly kept and obviously haven't been cleaned in a while. There were dead fish floating in tanks, I informed an employee and ended up going back in the next day to find the same floating dead fish still inside the tank with the rest of the fish. Very disappointing.

Great selection and super staff. Arden is wonderful and very knowledgeable.

Pet circus also has online shopping which is quick and easy to use.

I usually get my pup's food here. They carry a good variety of kibble and treats and have knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions about the products

This shop has a lot of interesting things for animals, especially I have a few cats, I'm dying to buy them toys.

Had to pick up a toy for my friends new puppy. The lady working was super friendly and helpful. We were able to pick up the perfect toy and our friend’s puppy loved it!

Carry the high quality stuff I like, but prices are very good. Staff are great and the bird sometimes talks to you!

Better prices than PetSmart and such lovely people. Though it was curbside, just a peek through the windows and you can see they have so many good things. A lot of essentials for pet birds that is missing at PetSmart - you can find here instead. This is going to be my new favorite place to shop:)

Such a shame that I moved to Ottawa a few years back but only learned about this pet store in 2021! Absolutely wonderful customer service - available stock for essential items and online store up-to-date and payment system easy to use. Ordered a few items for tank cycling this AM and items were ready to pickup within 30min. Store is located is a very walkable area accessible by public transit, but also has parking around. Please support local stores during the COVID-19 lockdown!

They have exactly what you need, when you need it. Despite its small size, Pet Circus is competitively priced - better than any chain pet store I've ever been - and they have rewards programs on some items, which makes shopping here all the more economical. The staff are helpful, and the hours are pretty flexible, too, which is always a plus!

My corgi and I used to live 1 block away from Pet circus. Good selection of treats for the downtown, and well situated.

My favourite pet store in the city, hands down. I wouldn't trust anyone else to give me honest advice for my pets. I've had rats and a cat and they have always been spot on with toy recommendations that they'd love and a wide variety of healthy food options.

I ordered from Pet Circus and opted for delivery, as I needed a big bag of food and a big bag of cat litter. I ordered it in the evening, and they delivered it before lunch the next day. Very helpful, considerate staff. We’re lucky to have a store like this in the downtown.

Amazing shop with knowledgeable staff, my go to through 2 foster kitties, a guinea pig, countless fish and my current pet.

Love this store, Been there only once but I ended up buying 2 very nice Weather Loaches from here about a year back I still have and they are doing great! They have a nice selection of animals, foods and other related products, Cashier was very nice, I will definitely be returning!

Was looking for green tree frogs for my son, but due to covid19 had lots of trouble finding the little guys. Thankfully a gentleman off kijji suggested Pet Circus mentioning he had seen them there. Unfortunately being an hour west of the city without vehicle, I was hesitant to make the trip. I called ahead of time.twice that week and thankfully the gentlemen took my name and said he would hold 2 for us. I went on Friday and they couldnt have made my buying any smoother. Not only did they have the cuttest little American green tree frogs, they also helpped me with the setup and lighting. Everything is perfect and both my sons could not be happier. I would suggest this place not only for avalibility of species but customer service was out standing! Check this pet shop out if you have the chance! I am gald I did.

My wife and I bought two American tree frogs and a red eye tree frog at pet circus there healthy.the staff is very friendly there i would recommend going there.

Sad I didn’t find this gem sooner. Recently decided to adopt two rats and had been looking for a cage and supplies - as well as general information - from bigger chain stores such as PetSmart.

I was having trouble finding a large enough cage (most small cages are so small that they just seem cruel to me) but was able to track one down at Pet Circus. I went in to look at it and the lady that helped me was so knowledgeable, honest and helpful. I’ve asked similar questions at larger pet stores and they didn’t have clear answers for me.

Through her explanations she also indirectly convinced me to return to purchase my animal from them as well as they get their animals from a local breeder who socializes and handles the animals (unlike PetSmart whom gets their animals from large rat mills).

I’ll be returning to adopt my rats and will definitely opt to shop here primarily for my future needs.

The staff there is amazing and very knowledgeable. I've gotten sage advice from them on several occasions. Did i mention they solved my concerns each time? They did and i can't believe that i did not go back there sooner.

Will definitely buy from here on a regular basis to keep them in our neighborhood

Staff is amazing and knowledgeable. Always stop by here when I'm downtown. The selection is really good for top shelf quality products. And pricing is reasonable. Bought a cat tree here, and just happen to catch the owner, gave a discount.

I go to Pet Circus infrequently but when I do, I always find what I was hoping for and the staff is always very kind.

I really like this store, their prices are reasonable and the staff has always been nice, helpful and knowledgeable in my experience.

Good selection, nice store but I wanted to switch flavors of Fromm dog food and was brushed off by the staff (interrupted a personal convo between the staff at the cash - no customers in the store) and given a sample bag without being able to discuss fat content, allergies etc.within the line of foods. I mentioned that my dog has pancreatitis and needs to be on a low fat diet but I was looking to up the fat % slightly. The sample I was given is CAT food and is quite high in protein and fat. Sorry for taking up so much of your time I guess.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. They have kittens once in awhile. Lots of toys for cats and dogs. A pretty substantial aquatic section with a wide variety of species including Ghost Shrimp, African Clawed Frog, Axolotl, Zebra fish, rainbow shark.lots of tank supplies too. The store also has some reptiles.

Great place and pleasant staff. They have birds, fish, cats, frogs, spiders, geckos and other reptiles. Also they have plenty of food, toys and accessories.

Excellent Service/Knowledge and Selection of Products, they try to get anything you are looking for if they don't have it already, Curtious and Pleasant Owner and Staff, It's 1 of the 3 places I go to when getting anything for my pooch, they Know about All types of Pets and the Proper Care they need!

Incredible store. They have an amazing selection, and they're always first to mind when I think about where I might find aquatic plants, or plecos/algae eaters. Or snails, or a giant cow femur for my dog to gnaw on, or a round of cardboard intended for my cat's incessant clawing and inevitably serving as a tattered dais upon which he sleeps and gazes down upon all.
