It has everything and something for every type of pet, including the most exotic ones. The space is just too small for so much diversity of animals and products.

I’ve been coming here for years to get feeders and pet supplies. They have always been incredibly helpful. They have a great variety pet products, not just for furry friends, but for reptiles and fish too!

Great staff, very knowledgeable, and went the extra mile for me. Their store is absolutely stocked with everything you could imagine plus more. Their dragons look amazing and they have a front counter clerk named Captain who is a bearded dragon and loves pets on his head. I went in for a CO2 drop checker, was completely overwhelmed with everything they have in their store that I forgot all about the CO2 drop checker and walked out with a bunch of fish and snails for my aquarium instead. So now I have to setup another trip to go there for the CO2 drop checker and hope I don't forget it next time.

I ordered online multiple times from Pet Paradise and have my order shipped to me (to Newfoundland) with no issues. If I did have any problems or concerns, they were very receptive to any questions or concerns. I keep reptiles and use nothing but the best for my setups. They even worked with me in getting a special ordered item for one of my setups sent to me. Great customer service, and quality products. Will definitely be ordering again!

Place is great as many species are kept bioactive, look healthy and abundance in supplies.
The staff seem to be people who are already in the hobby, so they're educated and it's nice to talk to someone who also knows how to care for the reptiles properly.
Concern is product being left on the floor in the rodent area and fish room, needs better organizing as major tripping hazards and doesn't allow you to see the animals fully.
Then with new species being biught/sold, if bioactive it's easy to spread diseases to passing reptiles much faster that way because it's difficult to sterilize between reptiles.

Mark was so helpful with the set up of my aquarium from the moment I decided I wanted to set one up right until I picked them up! I was able to make a very happy home for my pea puffers with his advice. I used to frequent the store for supplies for my late bearded dragon. I live further now but this store is worth the trip!

This is hands down our very favourite pet store to visit! They have the most amazing critters and the best price for crickets!

Great store. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and they’re always getting new shipments of interesting fish. Keeps me coming back. Purchased 3 angelfish and 2 are now paired up and laying eggs. The discounts don’t hurt.

Very limited stock and hard to get any help unless interrupting staff while texting etc on cell phone at work. Seemingly center on specific pets rather than all pets (iguanas etc in aquariums pets seem to be the focus)

Friendly staff lots of selection options from generic pet stores ie. Petsmart, pet valu also live feeders apposed to the frozen. Fairly priced for exotic as well. Overall happy with my experience and opened up an account.

Went in to look at hamsters On a Saturday.the girl said they're not ready yet they will be ready Monday Tuesday As the girl who clears themWe'll be there to clear them for sale. Which was fine because I didn't need them until 2 Thursdays from that. So I went in The following weekend. But thought I would call 1st. I was told by the girl who answered that they're not for sale. I said that I was told they'd be ready in a few days and it's been over a week. She apologized and just wanted to know who told me that which I didn't have a problem telling her but that seemed to be her main focus. I had been looking and had a hard Time finding someone who had hamsters to begin with. So that was a bit annoying. The girl was so sure as if There would be no problem they would be ready in a few days. They were not waiting to be cleared.the girl said they were not for a sale. Wouldn't be surprised if even that wasn't true. I just wish people who work in stores don't give informationWithout knowing the facts and we all know everyone does it without a second thought so there's no reason to defend. No one cares about customer service anymore they just tell you what you want to hear and say yeah no problem no problem. If companies would fix Just this one thing it would change customer service Greatly. One simple thing train your staff properly

September 2022 Update

If you just need to get your stuff and get out, no issues. If you need to interact with anything on two legs, maybe look elsewhere.

I've started my first paludarium, which I planned to populate with some tropical plants, as well as springtails and isopods to start an enclosed system which will eventually host crabs and frogs or geckos.

There were four staff in the area of the cash register, having a conversation. I waited nearby facing their direction but not wanting to interrupt, occasionally looking to each of them. Eventually the conversation was put on hold.
"I'm looking for climbing plants for a high humidity paludarium"
"Any ivy will work"
"Are any of the plants toxic to my other pets? "
"The only ones that are really toxic are those ones with the orange sticker"
"I'm looking for isopods as well"
"Either the pink or purple tubs, one type jumps, the other crawls"

I get it, it's Saturday, just after noon, maybe you want to just phone it in for the rest of the day. But damn, auto answer scripts on a webpage are more useful and informative.

For now they're one of the best stocked exotic pet stores in London. But I still recommend Southwest Pets, or see how the new pet store "Firehouse Pets" opening in Lucan does.

June 2022 Update

I was in the area and wanted to check things out. The aquariums were almost all entirely spotless, and there has definitely been effort made to improve the conditions for the fish while they await their new homes.

I never paid much mind to the more exotic pets in my previous visits, but the individual terrariums and paludariums were impressively clean and filled with enrichment items.

My presence still went mostly unnoticed as I browsed the animals and impressive dry goods, but I did see staff diligently feeding a mixture of different foods to different animals.

They've also added a selection of 1-2-Grow aquarium plants, which I think might be a first for London, not that the quality is lacking at any of the other local shops, but the range in selection is awesome.

Old update

Came in again a few months later to see if things were any different. Didn't see any staff as I poked around the fish room and reptiles. My plans to get some pygmy Cory's was stopped by the amount of white fungal growth on the uneaten food in the tank, as well as what I only realized after close inspection was a dead fish that had been completely overgrown. That is not something that happens overnight, and the tank was bare apart from the sponge filter and a small piece of driftwood. No way am I risking getting one of my tanks sick.

I haven't experienced anything to drive you away, hence two instead of one*

It's certainly a big store with quite a lot of products available. I haven't had anything similar to the positive experiences with customer service and information that other people have mentioned in their positive reviews, mine have been merely functional. I have however received the wrong species on an order, but more disappointingly have seen postings that "This species is coming in this week" followed by "This species is now in stock" then driven a ways to get to the store and been told that they are not available not because they sold out, but because they never received them, and won't for weeks. Shame on me for not calling ahead, absolutely, and I know COVID sucks especially for international or even Canada based supply chains, but that seems dishonest at worst, lazy at best. Overall I've had more positive experiences at my Petsmart, Big Al's and Southwest Pets.

So many pretty fish, seems to be well stocked. Not very big but has a little bit of everything.

They have a nice selection of pretty much anything you could need for lots of small animals, reptiles, and fish!

The stuff and animals are a bit pricey, but they have a wide selection and the staff is pretty great.

This is the only place in London where I will shop for my aquarium needs!

Tanks are beautifully maintained, stock is healthy, plant selection is impressive, staff are knowledgeable and the prices are hard to beat.

Shout out to the staff member in the aquarium section (sorry I don't know your name!) for always being happy and willing to offer some great advice.

Have been getting my aquarium plants from here for the last few years. I miss the fella that used to work in the back with the aquariums, he knew his stuff and always had recommendations or workarounds if you were on a budget.

Love the range of stock options they have as well, other stores in London seem tailored towards specific setups and livestock.

Honestly the best pet store I've been to! The prices are so low, and the selection of reptiles n such in phenomenal! The store doesn't even smell. It's a literal zoo! Pea puffers, snakes, axolotls, tortoises, chameleons, frogs. They do even sell hamsters sometimes. The workers are constantly cleaning and friendly.

I’ve been a customer since 2016. Don’t know where all the negative comments came from. I mostly get hamster supplies from them like paper beddings, reptile sand for sand bath, and hamster toys. Their price is unbeatable, not even big corporations like petsmart or Amazon, idk how they are able to keep the price so low, it’s absolutely amazing. The staff are always so friendly, cheerful and helpful, not even once did I feel being mistreated. I’d give them 10 star if I could!

I purchased a live frog from them and they were amazing!
They answered all my questions, picked a delivery date that ensured the healthy and safety of the animal, and kept me up to date during the whole process.
My frog arrived healthy and pretty active despite a trip through the mail.

I had an incredible experience. I purchased a brand new starter kit for my fish setup today. I was helped by a very nice young man that works in the fish department it was extremely knowledgeable and helped me with everything I needed. This place is awesome it's local and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 I had an awesome experience and that guy that works in the Fish Department is incredible I didn't catch his name but he gets a 21 out of 10 oh i ended up catching his name its Terry. Your the best man!

Great customer service at this location. Always prompt to answer calls; informed helpful and polite staff; quick ready and pickup during COVID19 lockdowns; good selection of products at prices comparable to larger franchise operations and big box stores but much better more personal service!

I’ve always come to this store for my pet needs. After today’s experience, you lost a loyal customer. I waited at the front door to pick up my order. More than 5 minutes before anyone came to the front of the store. Both male employees I saw were NOT wearing masks while inside the store. Pretty much spreading their germs onto all the products they sell. The guy who finally came to the front door only put his mask on when he was approaching me. If you idiots don’t get the rules to keep your customers safe, there are plenty of other pet stores who do.

Very rude staff.go multiple times and they are always bad.short girl is very snarky, guy who does fish is rude and not helpful, dont know how he still works there. Petsmart is better

They don't always give the best advice but their animal stock is well looked after. Staff will do what they can to help.

When I came for in-store pickup I saw an employee with short dyed hair stealing almond leaves. When I called her out on it she began acting incredibly rude towards me. I won't be returning to this location

The people who work in this store don't know anything about the products they sell, when the products will be resupplied, where they come from, how they are made.
I went in there one time and asked about the best (reasonably small) treats to use with my dog for training. The woman GUSHED over one particular product telling me how much my dog would love them. Despite the extraordinarily high cost ($24.99), I bought them. My dog hated them and refused to eat any. Bad salesperson!
Do yourself a favour and stay AWAY from this store!

Always loved this store, However it’s gotten very bad over the past year. Seems to get worse with every visit
Employees obviously do not care about anything, store is a mess, always talking amongst themselves, phones were ringing non stop while two guys just stood around chatting. No one wearing masks Except the guy at the front. Total Disaster, won’t be in again, doubt the animals are being taken care of either. Sad

Shipping is slow as maple syrup in January. Expect to receive your order in 3-4 weeks or order from amazony, pay a bit more, and get it 3-4 days. Wish I'd ordered from Amazon. No excuse for how long their shipping takes. I could order something from the other side of the planet on ebay and get it quicker. Shame on them for such slow, laxitysickle service in 2021; won't be around for long with this type of service. Shape up or be gone.

I really only go for a large bag of Orijen dog food every few months. I can't find anyone else that carry them and it's always in stock, good service, easy check out. Every 13th bag is free, so that's a plus, because they're over 100$ per! I think they updated their paper accounts to digital and I appreciate that convenience a lot. It was empty during covid so I walked around the aquariums with my 2 yo, he loved it, and they didn't rush us out or make us feel bad staying.

Pet Paradise has a broad selection for a midsize independent local shop. Staff are knowledgeable about fish and genuinely care. They wouldn't just sell. They ask about your current stocking and conditions, then advise accordingly.

Cherry shrimp quality is much better than others nearby. The prices do reflect accordingly and are slightly higher.

Love this store. ATM with covid, it's order in advance to get things. You can only walkup to the door, not go inside. Looking forward to the lockdown ending.
