I called this place to apply for a job. The lady on the phone gave me an email address to send my resume to. I realized I had wrote it down wrong and so i called them again 3 minutes later. When i told the lady that it was me calling again, she rudely said “I don’t know who me is. ” After I got the email address to apply, I said “thank you” in which she rudely replied “bye. ” If your store needs help, maybe you shouldn’t be rude to the people trying to apply to it. I Will not be applying or going to this store.

While I stood outside waiting 15 minutes for my order that was "ready for pickup" (that the staff had clearly not picked before confirming my order) I overheard one staff member say to a customer how understaffed they are. Not 5 minutes later did that same employee turn away a young woman arriving for an interview citing the owner "had emailed her they're not hiring anymore".

Pet Valu has the right blend of size and product selection to be the underdog pet-store chain in Ontario. However, unprofessional (and frankly rude) employee behaviour and an outdated curbside pickup program prevents this from becoming a reality. Do yourself a favour and stick to locally owned!

It's difficult to comment on the shop itself as I was picking up an order and didn't roam around, but it looked cluttered and disorganized. However, my experience with the staff was disappointing. Upon asking the person behind the cash about what chew stick/bone they would recommend for a puppy, they looked bothered and said they weren't sure because they don't have dogs. Ummmm, shouldn't staff have knowledge of the various items they sell regardless of what pet they have? Couldn't they have asked another staff member? Do they have a hate on for dogs? Unfortunately, as a first-time customer, I really don't see the appeal of returning.

Very rude staff and unprofessional. For some reason they have forgotten its the customer who feeds them. Looking at other reviews it seems I'm not the only one who has issues with staff at this location. You think you would change the way you do things when several people have an issue with your treatment of them guess not. All I wanted to do was return an item without going inside the store because I have serious anxiety issues from this empodemic. I wanted an explanation but the first Rep wouldn't provide me with one and wouldn't let me talk to the manager and kept telling me to call the customer service line. When I called again the manager was equally unhelpful citing its company policy to not accept credit card info over the phone and they couldn't take my credit card inside. Weird went to another location and they totally accomondated me. Took my credit card over the phone and refunded the money to me.

Ruthie is a terrible manager and owner. She has a tendency to get physical with people over the smallest things. And has a disgusting attitude. I’ve seen her scream at potential customers and lost money over it.

I’ve contacted the Pet Valu customer service and they said they’d “look into it”. Complete bull. I’m never shopping here again and I’m telling everyone I know and posting on social media about my experience with her.

They need to deal with her appropriately.

I thought people who worked at pet stores are supposed to be nice. One would think that someone who loves animals has a kind heart. WRONG! This pet store is the pet store from absolute HELL. I had a terrible experience with a rude a older women working at the store. I was followed around and spoken to in a derogatory, foul way. This store needs to rethink their staff choices.

The old lady wearing glasses does not know how to speak to customers, looks like she was upset because I was returning a treat. Although, she knew she must accept the return/exchange but She was rejecting my reasons for the return. She speaks to people like they are 6 years old. Even though, I was almost done at the cash and was leaving, she over-heard me giving reason for the return to the cashier and she intrupted and picked up arguming again. She did not want to listen to me. I explained her again this must have been an old product that I bought from another store, it's not about you and this store and I dont have any problem, I just need an exchage, however my reasons are a valid reason " the product is hard for my dog to chew.thats why i am returing it".
I nicely asked her to check the product its not fresh but she kept repeating that the product has no issue, and when she finished her monologue she kinda wanted me to leave the store, just because I was stil explaining my reasons for her.

I never had such a bad experience in retails, I have never seen someone argue with you for returning a product. And I will never go back to this store.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. A woman who works there SHAMED me just for asking a simple question. I was at a loss of words when treated with such utter disrespect. I feel harassed and violated. Have fun in hell b! Tch!

READ THIS BEFORE you think twice about entering this store.
My niece was an employee at this franchise for about 4 months. The owner Ruthie, had decided to let her go, rightfully so she is entitled to fire whomever she likes, that is not the problem here. WHILE letting my niece go, SHE DECIDED TO PHYSICALLY AND VERBALLY ASSAULT MY NIECE!
Customers outside had to chime in and let the owner know (Ruthie) that how she was yelling at my niece was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate.
I have contacted petvalu, because it is in my personal belief, a person of this nature, that conducts themselves in such a animalistic way. Has no business running a store.
HER HUSBAND WHO IS THE CO-OWNER, I understand did nothing.
PLEASE PLEASE do not buy your animal supplies from the store. I understand a petsmart, is just down the street.you have a better chance of being treated like a proper human being there.

Poor customer service. The store owner has a temper and communicates in a very loud, hostile, and aggressive way. I was assisting a rescue picking up donations and I suppose by law she wasn't supposed to technically let us in to pick up donations (Covid-19). This was news to us when half way through our time there she suddenly began yelling directly at me to stay away from the windows. Very disappointed in the way she communicated. Now I have to wonder if she speaks to her staff in the same manner.

Great and helpful staff! A great variety of food options for my dog and cat. Clean store with lots of parking space outside.

Excellent service prestigious storefront & showroom they have everything for your pet needs & solutions. Eden in sales went above & beyond to see to it that all my requirements had been met to satisfy the needs of my Dog from food & nutrition to healthy grooming products I much appreciate the help & great service keep it up Pet Value!

This is a decent place to find all your pet products. They also offer grooming etc for your pets.
