Always a friendly face to help with any pet related questions. They keep a history of past purchases, so you can get help on future purchases, if needed.

So greatful for the people working there. My dog has food allergies (mostly chicken and poultry) and nearly every food has chicken meal or bi-product. We found a great food that suits her but I currently can't afford it and don't want to give her cheap food from walmart with no nutritional value that will make her sick.
The employees of pet valu listened to our needs (allergens + affordability) and checked every single brand to make sure it doesn't have chicken and helped us choose good food that will help me financially and my dog with her health and daily needs. I will forever be greatful to them.

I think this is the only pet store in downtown Hamilton. This is a great store. Well stocked with everything you need for all types of pets. The owner is very knowledgeable about all his products. The store is very clean. Parking can be difficult, so I parked at a city meter on the side street. I highly recommend this store.

Friendly and courtesy staff and believe me this store has everything that you may need for your cats, dogs, birds fish etc needs. Clean and very organized too!

Always find good brands and re occurring sales. Although the inventory is still priced on the higher end, I always shop there. Staff is always friendly and willing to help, researching and talking with you thoroughly

I agree with one of the reviewers here, Sharma, the owner, is not all that great! Doesn't keep his word.all talk no ACTION. Lots of other better places to go!

Selection of product was very good. The 1 person on staff did not greet us when we went into the store Being we where the only ones in the store.

The person who I assume is the owner seems to care about animals, when purchasing treats he's given feeding tips to reduce GI distress. Definitely helpful for newer pet owners, I've never had an issue with any of their advice but I mostly come here for the prices and because they aren't PetSmart.

Great pet store. The owner is always very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a rewards program for bags of food which helps out.

Poor knowledge and very poor people skills the customer is not given any help M they were cleaning and once I awhile come look to see if you are stealing.

Great little local pet shop. Good selection of quality pet foods one of the only local places I can get Science Diet brand. Staff are always very friendly I always enjoy going here. Parking lot can get busy so walk if you can!

The owner of this store is one of the kindest people I have ever met. These people will go out of their way to make sure you get exactly what you need for your animal friend. They have a raw food selection and have placed special orders for items they didn't have in store which has always been available the next week. I highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable, happy staff! Went in with questions about specific brands and nutrients my indoor cat needed, the staff member was diligent in guiding me along the different formulas and which product was the right choice. I had many questions and she answered them all with confidence and did not mind how much information I needed. I have been recommended pet valu for this reason before, and they certainly lived up to this standard, thank you for helping me make the right choices and for not being rushed about the endeavor.

Terrible service and terrible owner attitude. Will not buy from this store ever. There was no parking except for 2 open reserved spots for this store. I only meant to stop for a minute or two. Within 15 seconds the owner came out and told me I needed to get out. If he asked nicely it would have been fine, but this clearly was not the case.

Friendly helpful knowledgable staff. They had a difficult to find item in stock (muzzle for short nosed dog) & I was told if it doesn't fit I could exchange easily.

I love this place. It's a smallish store, but they have everything you could want for your cat, dog, fish. And there's often a sweet kitty on display waiting for a furever home. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Very friendly, but as everything is in Canada over priced but when you live in Canada part of the year you can't keep jumping the border to save.

They have everything you need for your pet but prices tend to be a little bit higher than an all in one store. Everything is quality. And pet friendly is a bonus.

I come here often as it's on my commute. The staff here is wonderful and knowledgeable! The selection is pretty good. Prices are decent as well. It always brightens my day to see the cats they house get adopted so fast. Would definitely recommend!
