Pete's Big Bite Burgers

I read about Pete's Big Bite having the best Poutine in Durham so I had to check it out. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better price on such a quality poutine! Feeding and *filling* 2 people for under $17 isn't something you find too often in today's economy. Pete's delivered, and service with a smile!

This was our first experience with the restaurant, unfortunately the delivery app driver lost/forgot half of our order!

The management was quick to call and sort out the situation and sent out their own staff to deliver the missing half of the the order.

On top of all that the burgers where fantastic and my wife and i really enjoyed the poutine.

We looking forward to trying more of the opinions in the future!

The burgers are very good, they are very coarse, in the end you have a very pleasant feeling of satisfaction, perhaps I would only suggest a slight change in their recipe for the fries, they could improve a little.

Came for ice cream! What a treat. Their sundaes are massive and worth every penny. We had a summer berry splash and chocolate sundae.
I wanted to buy a baby cone for my pup, but they only sell small and large. I passed.
The gentleman made me a baby cone no charge! That’s supreme customer service, and why I’ll recommend this place. They’re always going above and beyond! Thank you.

The best Philly cheesesteak I have tasted outside of Philly. Seriously, soooo good! I'm obsessed! The service and decor is awesome as well. Love that you can also grab an ice cream after your meal. Perfection!

I have no clue where to start, me and my gf have been going to a different burger joint every Wednesday for a date night, we have done five guys, burger factory, hero burger and tonight Pete's big bite. My gf says it's her favourite so far and I personally tie it with five guys for top place. Meal was $46 for two burgers, chilli fries, reg fries and two pops. Couldn't finish the meal due to how much food their was. This meal will make a big biker dude look like a female dog. Solid burger flavour and quality. Topping selection topshelf. Atmosphere was on point. Would highly recommend, can't wait to try their cheese steak and milk shakes in the future. Aways delicious food and amazing customer service. You can call ahead and food is ready in about ten minutes! Even when they are busy their food is always great quality. There are also a ton of fresh ingredients for toppings.

Exceptional first experience at Pete’s Big Bite Burgers! The restaurant was busy, the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has that 50’s dining experience which made for a cool atmosphere to eat in. The burger, fries and gravy were amazing. No one left hungry or dissatisfied in any way from our group. We will definitely be back to try more items on their menu!

Went in December 10th evening time. Dude with embryo growing out of the back of his head refused to serve me

Delicious! We tried the Bad Boy Signature Burgers. The Onion rings and fries are the perfect amount of crispy and the gravy that comes with makes them even better!
It’s a very cozy place with super friendly staff. While my sister and I were waiting for our order the gentleman brought us two ice cream sundaes which was a super sweet gesture. Overall, a great place with a wide variety of options. Can’t wait to go back and try their Philly Cheese Steak sandwich!

These guys are beauties. Food was great, nice little seating area. These guys really care, I'll definitely be back. Tried the burger, next time the Philly, the cook was like mad scientist putting one together.

I had a 5-oz burger with fries and they were both delicious. The meat to bread ratio was perfect-I wasn't left with a big piece of bread at the end. I'm not 100% sure what sauce I had on it but it was one of Pete's custom sauces. But it was amazing with my burger. The combo was a great portion for the price too. I will definitely go back to this place in the future.

I eat at this place about twice a week. The fire hall burger is ridiculously well made and portions are perfect. My girlfriend gets the chicken fingers with a ice tea. Very clean restaurant with new renovations. Just a great experience all the way through. P.s try the milk shakes they offer. If my girl is mad at me that usually makes her smile.

Pete’s big bite since they first opened they have been treating there customers like family, great eats and good treats have kept me coming back for years.

Big shout out to Pete and Daniel for always providing my family the best service and meal quality.

We are lucky to have a old fashioned, family ran burger joint in the Durham region.

We went to Pete's Big Bite because of all the rave reviews. We ordered 2 steak on a kaiser combos. It comes with fries, gravy and a drink. The portions are large so there wasn't any room for ice cream. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Average first time but second time was actually really good so maybe the first time was a bad day. See what it's like the third time and I will update the star rating.

The most hardworking people in the restaurant business. Pay a visit and you won’t be disappointed. My favourite is the chicken fingers. The French fries are unique too. But remember they’re closed on mondays!

This was our first experience at Pete's, and it was like going back in time-family run with real care and customer appreciation, great value and the food was unreal, including the best burger I have had and the best sundaes. A real gem!

This place is prime example of great customer service. I asked for recommendation from the young man at the counter and he suggested their poutine and oh boy, it turned out to be one of the best I’ve tried in GTA. The man at the counter was owner’s son and he told me his dad started the business 16 yrs ago. We were waiting in the car till the order was ready but he kindly delivered the food to our car with a complementary drink. 10/10 will go back to this place.

Petes is the best spot for food amazing burgers steak on a bun and chicken souvlaki. The customer service is A1. Pete and his son treat you awesome eventide you come in

The food was just ok, so I am not sure why they are so overpriced. The owner was so rude. He needs more manners when dealing with customers. Get a hearing aid or a better ordering system than being so rude to customers.

We had ROUTE 66 combos and a pulled pork poutine. It was ALL Amazing! Burgers were thick, meaty, juicy. Why didn't we find this place sooner? We will be back!

For the life of me - I don't know why anyone would choose any other burger joint in Whitby including the Chain Stores over Pete's.

Owner here is zero customer service skills. He is EXTREMELY rude! Rushes you off the phone when you're trying to place your order than when you get there gives me the wrong order arguing with me whag I ordered! So said to see a some burger joint run by such a rude individual.

This diner is the best I've been to in a very long time. When I first moved to the neighborhood, I ordered for my family and met Dan. He was the nicest person, he even gave my daughter's ice cream to welcome them to the neighborhood. He spoke so highly of his father, it was such a pleasure to hear. The burgers are amazing! The fries are perfectly crispy and soft. The gravy is to die for! I've since met Pete, and he is a charming gentleman, and so very pleasant and funny. The Friday night car gatherings are such a joy. Pete's Big Bite Burgers is a community restaurant, with family feel. I'm so blessed to have moved to this neighborhood, this place is a great restaurant, with a lovely staff. Even when I leave Whitby, I'll always make time to come by for a burger and a smile.

Donno where the one stars come from iv been eating here since it opened and Iv never had a bad experience. Taken multiple out of towners to eat here and all if them have loved it, Owners a super nice guy dont be thrown off by his rbf lol.

Our order was incorrect, and meat was tasteless. Fries and Onion rings not terrible. Try Shamrock Burger or Starr instead.

This place is fantastic. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak. I really didn't expect much since most philly cheesesteaks outside of Philadelphia are sub par but this one was just right. It had a nice soft bun and the meat melted the cheese perfectly. Definitely coming back here again. My girlfriend got a cowboy burger; it was also amazing. The egg wasn't runny (so it didn't make too much of a mess) and the pemeal bacon was cooked enough so that it wasn't chewy but just right.

Very well put together joint. Offer a variety of burgers and sandwiches as well as ice cream. Burger was genuinely nothing special - flavorless, thin, and mundane. Reminded me of Harvey's or the like. Toppings plentiful, however they missed the mayo on the burger as requested. Four stars for small local business who definitely care more than a big name but less 1 star for quality.

Best burgers this side of Toronto! The dinner is very stylish. The good 'ol boys at the grill are a barrel of laughs as well. Fantastic little burger joint.

It was our first time there, and the food was great! The, Fire Hall Burger was messy and delicious and I can't wait to try a different burger!

This unassuming diner provided a perfectly cooked and well-accompanied burger that truly embodies the diner-spirit. The real ice cream milkshakes and sturdy fries (to hold up the gravy) round out the meal perfectly. The staff were excellent and very helpful, especially during this uncertain time. It may not be a place to go back to every day if you are calorie-conscious but it is the perfect place for a tasty treat and a "take a step back from the world" diner experience (I recommend parking facing the restaurant).

I honestly cannot wait to go back.
