Petes Place Access Point

This is my favorite park! With 25 visits I can tell you the staff are friendly and the sites are nice and private. If you haven't been here give it a shot.

The best water access ONLY Ontario Park! Have been going for years. A big thank you again to Greg and Graham (Massassuaga Park staff) who helped me out on Canada Day weekend this year when I had boat troubles. Can’t thank you enough!

Lots of space for cars, although I don't know if I myself would want to be there when they need to use the overflow parking. Easy check in and access to the water. I like that there are two ramps - one for canes/kayaks, and another for powerboats.

I found the check in, facilities, launch site and parking to all be well organized and laid out.

Very good launch point for canoes, kayaks or small trailered boats. However if the main parking lot is full it's a ridiculous long walk fron the overflow parking lot. They should make small vehicles without trailers park in double rows to use the wasted space in the center of the large lot.

In the last few years they have added a lot of extra parking which is great! Unfortunately there's nobody managing how people park. There is a lot of wasted space. For example if you are canoeing as a group of people you could park two to three small cars and to end beside a vehicle that has a boat trailer on it instead the vehicles quite often park side by side leaving an excessive amount of space between vehicles. I'm sure the staff get alot of complaints. I don't believe it's their fault, but it is something that should be addressed when checking people in!

Beautiful spot, you get cellphone service calm and relaxing. Watch out for the mosquitos/black flies!

For accessing The Massasauga I'd rather go from three Legged Lake Access Point to avoid cottagers and motorboats. However at Petes Place access point you can rent a canoe and get your permits from the access point office unlike three legged lake which does not have neither

Important Note: No drinking water available, or ice. So bring your own or go down the road to Moon River Marina. Good boat/canoe launch area, ample parking and short canoe ride to great sites for those first time camping trip with kids.

We had reserved a canoe and arrived at about 11 am. There were no canoes left and we had to wait until 130 when someone was on their way back. Not happy.

Very organized access point. Helpful staff. Nice kevlar backcountry canoes available for rent at $42/day (2019).

Massassagua Provincial Park access point. Water access only camping at its best, great remote secluded sites.

Love to start my camping trips from here. Just wish there was more then a compost toilet for the end of the trip.

Two boat ramps and a couple is wharfs for tying off. Ample parking for trailers. Canoe rentals picked up here. Outhouse available.

This is just for the lack of phone service, I have tried repeatedly to contact Ontario Parks, on how late I can arrive at the Pete's place access point, and was told by a recorded voice that my call is important, to leave my phone number and expect a returned call.sometime. My first call was at 4: 00 pm, I"M STILL WAITING at 8: 00! Due to a glitch with my web page, I've accidentally booked tonight, and won't be able to get there until about 3.5 hours from now, about 11: 30 pm, I would do it, I've set up tent well after dark before, I've paddled under the moonlight, even in Georgian Bay! But how do I go about checking in at Pete's place, will somebody tell me? I'll put my stuff in the car and go, but how do I know!? It would really add insult to injury to arrive and have nobody there, just like there's nobody there to answer the phone at the Ontario Parks desk! Then what, leave my car where? To get ticketed?
