Had an issue with a Store in Chatham Kent. Called head office and talked to Holly and she told me she would call me or e mail me and has been 5 days and nothing. I bet they wonder why reviews are not good but do not care about customer reviews. I will go back to Pet Smart where we use to go and have not had a pet for last 2 years and when we got our new pet thought we would try Pet Valu. Will Not Be Going Back"….

During my first order, the items were left at the entrance of my condo building. I had made it clear that I live in the city where theft is highly likely and also mentioned that I do not have help to lift heavy items such as cat litter. I was forced to rush and pick up my items during the middle of a work day and had to miss an important work call as a result. Not to mention, the items were heavy and I ended up hurting my back while carrying them to my unit. My building has an office which is open during the day and the items could have been left with them; instead, they were thrown on the floor near the entrance of the building. I was only made aware of this when a building worker called to notify me.

When I reached out to Pet Valu customer support, I was offered some coupons that I never got to use because of the time period specified on the coupons. The customer support team had also reassured me that the delivery company would be changing.

Fast forward several months to recently when I decided to place another order from Pet Valu (big mistake on my part) - I ordered several small items along with a 40 pound bag of cat litter and a 12 pound bag of dry cat food. The small items were delivered to my door no problem but the following day, the dry cat food and cat litter were placed in a safe box outside my condo building. I'm really not sure why this was done because it requires me to lift the items myself and carry it to my unit. Again, I do not have help to carry these items and could not leave them unattended as the safe box is located outside the building. Instead, I had to lug both heavy items myself and in the process, ended up hurting my back again. I really do not understand why Pet Valu insists on making poor delivery decisions despite my initial complaint.

I made mention of this last time and will do so again - those who are elderly, disabled, and have health conditions (such as myself) have a hard time lifting heavy things which is why we opt for delivery instead of going and picking up pet supplies from a brick and mortar store. The blatant disregard of my initial complaint followed by the inability to compensate me, poorly reflects on Pet Valu's part.

Rest assured, I will never again purchase anything from Pet Valu and I strongly do not recommend getting items delivered from this organization because they really do not care about you or your pet despite their claims.

After today I will NO longer be supporting this company! My daughter was hired there a couple weeks ago and was given 3 shifts last week. She went in an hour early her first 2 shifts and showed up for her 3rd one and was an hour early. She ended up having a panic/anxiety attack before work and asked if she could go home. They allowed her to go home, and she ended up getting 4 shifts this week. She went in early again today, not quite as early, but was ready to start on time. As she headed out to the floor to start the manager proceeded to stop her and told her that due to her mental health issues and her being late today, that they were letting her go. They told her she was too unstable. This I find out after 2 of the employees had just asked if I was her mom, as I had stopped by to drop something off for her. Not knowing this was taking place in the back with her.
When I responded yes, she is my daughter, both staff members stood there and laughed and the owners own daughter said to me “and you admit that”. Like who the heck do you people think you are? !? !? Obviously they are prejudiced against people with mental health issues of any kind. Not to mention I found out they aren’t the experts they seem to think they are.
On that note, I can say that I, along with MANY other people will NOT be shopping at PET VALU again. I have 5 Guinea pigs, and 3 dogs who I purchased ALL my supplies for, however not again!
Too bad I couldn’t give a 0.

My friend a senior was taking her dog to the one on Lakeshore in St Catharines, and the man told her that they cancelled her dog grooming appointment. She asked why? He said we don’t like you. Unbelievable. Abuse to a senior is unacceptable

On the 10th of July the Hurontario & Eglington franchise of this brutal company physically abused, molested and traumatized our animals when we brought them in for a grooming.

I have been in contact with head office every day, demanding to speak to their regional manager "Sandy" who does not return phone calls.

The audacity of these criminals to post replies to my complaints that one of their customer service experts is working with me to resolve this.

Their statement is total lies and propaganda.

I have been purchasing the same cat for approximately 1 year, same brand same size of bag for 2 cats. I purchase a bag every month, yet my quantity of bags purchased never goes up. First told after 7 bags the 8th is free.now I have been told after 12 bags the 13th is free. I can't stand when we the customer get screwed by anyone be it a company or another person. Screw and scam the little people. Will be purchasing my cat food else where and contacting head office with my complaint. Smh.

I lived in North York for 10 years with my dog and the Pet Valu I used was great, not a bad thing to say. Sadly I moved to Port Credit and started using Pet Valu in Mississauga. I told them of the 6 bags of food I had accumulated in Toronto. Both stores, Toronto and Mississauga both said they were transferable store to store. When it came time for my free bag they said there was nothing in my file account about it. They phoned the Toronto store to confirm and then said that because I was taking smaller bags there and now I taking large bags I had to start over.they wouldn't even offer me a deal to keep a customer. Off to the next Pet Valu on Lakeshore in Port Credit. I set up an appt.for Monday Dec 16 at 1030 am to have my dogs nails clipped.when I get there the groomer is no where to be found, yet she had a 10am wash and dry. No apology or anything.so now I have decided decided to leave Pet Valu and taking along at least 5 other people to change from Pet Valu to Pet Smart.they are much closer and offer bath tubs to do your own wash and dry.
It's to bad that one of the questions on Pet Valus job application is are you a comlete dummy? If you answer that "YES" you will fit right in

I had the pleasure of speaking with Steve and Lindsay at the London, Ontario location on Springbank Drive. We went in to purchase food for our bearded dragon, who we have been having trouble with in regards to his eating habits. Our 2 years of research on beardies was dwarfed in 10 minutes of conversation with Steve, who was incredibly knowledgeable about safe practices of feeding and habitat maintenance. The information we recieved from this short visit was extremely helpful. While Steve was providing assistance, Lindsay was also treating our dog to much appreciated petting and love. She was also able to provide us a great chew treat for our dog that didnt bother my pregnant wife's sensitivity to smell.
The customer service at this location is better than we have ever had at any store, and these employees should be commended.
