Philos Greek Cuisine and Pizzeria

A true hidden gem in Cornwall, this restaurant has a diverse menu, friendly staff and great prices. Each time I have been they have impressed me more with the level and speed of service.

I just ordered a large greek salad and theres no feta cheese on it I paid 15 dollars too. When ordering to go all our salads were warm, I suggest having the salad separated from the chicken brochette.

Unhappy with our take out experience! First time not being able to dine in. Portion was significantly smaller. One greek salad had no feta and both had no olives! You also had to cut up the salad before eating it because such big chunks. Small dressing and an extra is $1 for a little container and extra taziki was $7. Container wasn't even filled for that price. Also no napkins in the bag or cutlery. We will not be doing take out again. I couldn't find prices online either. Also the salad is in getting soggy with the hot food unless you want to pay extra for a container. The pork Slouvaki was great and not dried out like our previous visit. Also the expensive taziki was very tasty. The one that comes with the meal is way to small for the 2 stick dinner. We normally order gift certificates for Christmas but this year we are going to pass.

When there with my family to celebrate Birthday, was disappointed with the rice it was cold and not the usual fluffy delicious been going there for years, and now they charge to take some salad dressing home if I can't eat all in the restaurant as I always order salad on the side which they never used to which I don't see the reason if I prefer to put the dressing on my own way and the salad would be wilted the next day if I have it for lunch, I used to love dining there but will think twice next time.

The WORST service we have ever had in any restaurant ever!
Waitress was rude. Slammed down the utensils and walked away. Waitress had the personality of a knat. No greeting, pleasant or otherwise! No smile, she did not come back to inquire how the meal was. She got. 45 cents and that was too much. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great place for greek food service was very awesome and attentive and nice atmosphere.

Food is decent here, big portions. Lately the service here the last couple times has been horrendous. Waited 10 minutes to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant because about three different hosts and hostesses just stared at us and walked around like they didn’t know what they were there to do for their job and that’s to seat people who walk in. Also the service from server the last two times has been horrendously slow, took 2.5 hours from time walking in to the time we got our bill. Screwed up our orders past two times when I am very clear when ordering what I want and either the server or kitchen staff just don’t care enough to make the orders correctly. Food was cold by the time they finally brought it to me. Figure it out people! Stop slacking! Its not rocket science!

Really good, everyone enjoyed thier meals. The decor could use a touch up but it's not important.

Ordered a $30 steak & it was sooo tough. Took 1 bite & left the plate sitting in front of me while my family ate. I waited for the waitress to come and ask me or my family how everything was but she never did, no coffee refill or need another beer or anything. I think she noticed my food was messed up but was scared to ask me how everything was. I frequently eat here and I’m very disappointed & probably won’t go back.

I asked for the fish and chips with an added ($4) Caesar salad, they gave me only the fish with salad, then charged me the extra salad. My grandpa ordered a Greek salad and they gave it without the typical dressing, and that’s I’d say the most Greek thing they have.

I went with a friend and we had a chicken and rice and a salad it was delicious. But it would be a good idea to have a reservation if you go

$9 for a silver of chocolate cake that tasted like it’s been unwrapped in a fridge for 3 weeks! Terribly dried out not edible…

Was greeted, seated, and left hanging in the balance over 15 min. There were 5 staff members just standing there chatting away, with no sense of urgency or care. I finally spoke out loud and said we would like some service, please. I could clearly hear and will never forget the servers' words, I quote, "That's not my tables over there, I switched, remember, I am not doing them! " By this time, 25 minutes had now passed before someone came, and we finally ordered drinks. The gingerale was flat, and you could hear the house manager say to the server, "Would not surprise me. " The food well, there was hair in the plate very visible, not sure why it was even served like that. Replaced the dish with other ingredients that were asked to be omitted in the first place. The food was not very good, like no pride was taken to make it. The service was really bad, and I had to consistently get server attention.best part to skake your head and roll your eyes on that there were 5 servers and 4 tables to service? The atmosphere, well no one seemed to care, disfunction and quiet. I will never go back, unfortunately.

Consistently good. Very affordable. Open later than most restaurants, if not all, in Cornwall. Very fast delivery. The souvlaki platter is a go to for us and never gets old. The wait staff are the engine of this place. They look after a lot of people at once and do a great job.

Fabulous food. We got some takeaway while staying overnight on our way home to Québec. The service was very good both on the phone and in the restaurant. The platter for two was generous and absolutely delicious. Fresh, quality ingredients in the salad, authentic seasoning on the souvlaki, creamy flavourful dressing, and mouthwatering potato. Next time I'm driving through Cornwall I'll be certain to make a stop.

Highly recommended to us by a friend so we had to check it out. The food was excellent, prices were reasonable and our server Heidi was awesome as well. Definitely our go-to place in Cornwall from now on

My family and I ate at the restaurant on September 24. It was some of the worst Greek food I’ve ever eaten. We started with the spanakopita as an appetizer. It must have been sitting in a fridge or freezer and then reheated. It just tasted old and bland. I had the chicken souvlaki and that tasted reheated and was just some chicken with a ton of rice and some potatoes accompanying it. Not good at all. My family each got a pizza which was also not well liked. I’m not sure how this restaurant has over 4 stars, but I certainly won’t ever be going back. Also, the service was mediocre. Waitress did not go out of her way to see if we needed drinks or check in but not the worst service I’ve ever had.

A great family restaurant, we were a group of four and none of us had any complaints about the food or service. Will go back again

I have enjoyed Philos every time I have been there. The staff was excellent on July 09, as it was a very busy place with several birthday dinners going on. We were a group of 19 and everything went smoothly. Kudos to the wait staff and bussing staff.

I've been here twice and both times were excellent. Even during their busiest time, our waitress was attentive and friendly, apologizing for the wait though it was not necessary given that it was clearly a packed house. The pork and chicken souvlaki platters are well cooked and seasoned, their potatoes just right, their garden salad with their great house dressing was fresh and crisp.

I found this place accidentally and have cherished it ever since. Their Greek fare is the real deal. The chicken is succulent and their dips and appetizers are well priced and homemade. Worth a stop and look-see

A family member and I would go eat here all the time. Recently I've noticed that the quality of the food has gone down. The meal I usually order comes with rice, potatos and salad, i got my order and noticed my dressing for my salad wasn't in the bag. My food was delivered so I called they sent someone out to bring me some and while I was waiting being hungry I ate the chicken pita. When I got the dressing I opened up my sides and noticed my lettuce was a bit dirty so I took out the dirty parts and I noticed this tomato had mold on it. Luckily I didn't eat any of the side yet so I called and told them i would like a refund for the side and they gave me a credit of $12 I will no longer be ordering bc of the fact that a black tomato was put into my order that no one noticed?

Philos closed at 6: 35 pm on December 28th. Says they are open until 10pm. Someone answered my call. After 5 minutes wait… they disconnected the line. Called back for 10 minutes. Never answered. Time to find a new restaurant.

The food is tasty and portions are generous. Not gourmet level ingredients but fresh and more than adequately prepared. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. It checks all the boxes for a good family restaurant.

Philos has become our favorite goto restaurants in the Cornwall area. Food is always served in a reasonable time and absolutely delicious. The staff is very polite and customer oriented. Great food and reasonable prices, thx to the staff for the great service.

An unexpected gem. Complete punt by me and my wife but absolutely deserves all it’s accolades. Good was first class.

Forgot my mom's proof of vaccine so we ate on the patio. Waitress was very good and the food was excellent.

It was our first time at this restaurant and we didn't believed how fast the service was. Thanks to a really good waitress by the the name of "Joy" she made us confortable. The ribs were fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect. A great restaurant to recommand to your family and friends. 5star for us for sure. Thanks again Joy.xxx

A nice family place with the best food in cornwall. The staff are especially sweet. I'm happy to see the same faces everytime I go there.

Looking for a good meal? Well, they have literally everything you could ever want here. Their prices are reasonable and their staff are exceptionally friendly. Great place to share a meal with family or friends.

They forgot my entre, we were only 7 people. Washrooms are dirty and don't look at the mirrors on the walls.lots of fly stuff.

With prices so low and quality so high it's crazy! Everything was prepared to perfection, the staff was welcoming and made this a unique dining experience. I came from out of town for food and so happen to find this gem of a restaurant by luck! I am planning on returning just because of the food being so amazing. Everything was mouth watering, tantalizing and you'll quickly understand why this place is a gem! It's a two hour drive that I will be making frequently and it's well worth it. The Greek word for friend is philos and with friends like this you'll never go hungry. Keep up the great work

The food is great and the portions are generous, but they have gotten orders wrong and/or forgotten items with the deliveries LITERALLY every time. Bad customer service when they're trying to fix mistakes and bring the missed items. Shame, it's a good place.

I've been here alot over the years.i will still continue to go.but some improvements could be made.

They had no fish n chips? ! The chicken strips we cold, dry and tasteless!? The service was good but the waitress could have come by more and bring the pitcher of water.

Love this place. Their menu has different varieties so anyone can find something to eat. All their food is great and good portions. Their service is fantastic if I could more then 5 stars I would.
