I really dont get the hype about this spot. Its just an average pho place that takes cash only and still charges tax. The foods not bad but its just your average pho experience. Also its quite expensive portion wise
Used to be my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in town but I feel like the quality has gone down over years after it became more popular. Especially the broth, not flavorful anymore but quite bland. Still a good spot if you crave for Viet food!
Been wanting to try this place … finally made it there and was sorely disappointed. Everything was pretty mid - we tried the pho, bun and rice dish, nothing stood out. Pretty ordinary.
Came with high expectations, which werent fulfilled.the Beef/Chicken pho was alright, Not overwhelming. The papaya/shrimp salad Had no sauce/taste. More fish sauce! More chili! There are better vietnamese in town, don't understand the Hype.
This a great spot for some very tasty viet food! The location is very convenient and close to the action of Trinity Bellwoods and near the Queen and Dundas streetcars. It is a cash only location so come prepared! They also have a nice patio during the summer out on Ossington. Definitely will come back to try other dishes!
I was craving viet. Ordered their pork chop and rice, the pork chop was a little dry for my preference but great flavour. Still enjoyed my meal.
I like their egg soda that was interesting. I’m definitely coming back next time for their other dishes. Straight forward good food. Their spring roll was delicious.
Food is over priced and cash only. Owner/staff always say the machine is broken. Food this time was served not fresh. The meat cuts were like left overs stringy and thin in the bowl that I paid $20.
A cold cold day always calls for viet comfort food. Got many recommendations for here and was in the area to give it a try
Walked in and felt very authentic: cash only + ATM, stack of chopsticks and spoons at every table, tacky decor on point, write your own orders down.
Their pho and bun bo hue are very flavorful. Top notch BBH in the city with all the fixings including blood cubes and piece of pork knuckle. Enjoyed every bit of it. Well spiced and hit on every point.
Price point is still very welcoming, service was good. Would recommend and eat at again!
Had really high expectations for this place from the reviews to articles about this place. Wasn’t really impressed to be honest. Both of our pho broths were merely tasteless, hoisin and Sriracha are extremely watered down. I put so much sauce in the pho I was practically drinking sriracha hoisin water. Average place. Shrimp wontons were decent but I wouldn’t say it’s the best Pho in town lol. Looks amazing, but doesn’t deliver with flavor. Sorry: (
I got take out from this place and there was a hair in the noodles.
I went back to return the food and they tried to blame their suppliers on why there was hair in the food. I asked if they washed their hands before serving food… they ended up giving me a refund after I asked 5 times.
Authentic Vietnamese taste. Very tasty broth and the texture of noodle is excellent. Beef is tender and tripe just cooked right in time. Waiters are polite and friendly. Remember to bring some cash because it's a cash only restaurant. And there's a ATM inside. I should give 5 stars to this restaurant, all because there's a guy (not the one shown in the photo), I think he is the relative of the owner, pretty grumpy and not good attitude to all customers.
Food is great, service is good. However, the staffs did not stop an entitled white couple cutting in line. It should be their responsibility to stop this kind of toxic behavior.
I had the vegan spring rolls (not great) and the vegan pho. The pho was really good but I was really thrown off because I found a small chunk of beef in my soup. Probably a mistake on their part but threw me off for the rest of the meal. Just hope they can be a bit more careful next time!:) All my friends also enjoyed their phos.
Overall it’s a good place The food is delicious. It’s more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants but you get what you pay for. Fresh meet and herb. Convenient location.
Entirely average and bland. I had crispy noodles with beef. Service is very poor, be Oreo prepared to have to ask servers over and over for simple things and to wait eternity to pay. I won’t eat here again.
My favourite pho restaurant. Their pho broth has a lot of flavours and their other dishes are pretty good too, but apart from the food and decent service, don’t expect much else.
This hole in the wall has great Viet food. Their pho was sooo good. I love the location, it is truly a hidden gem. This place is a great breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner spot. I would highly recommend. Service was wonderful.
Small no frills Vietnamese restaurant with the best Pho in the city. Good portions of beef and noodles. Flavourful broth that you want to slurp up entirely. And extra long spring rolls which translates to more crispy surface area. You’re getting great value for your money but don’t expect anything fancy.
Won't go back any more for now. I used to order #24 and large for pass 5 years.but $13.5 for 6piece of meat and small portion of rice noodle? Not worth at all. They told us they charged $1.75 for extra bean sprouts, really!
I used to go this place very often, but since covid we didn't go there so often, now not even consider to go back.
I understand everything is on the price are going up, I really don't mind pay extra. But I was really really shock today.
P.s they soup is the best, if you never try it, you should try but really not worth it.
Tasty pho, quick service, with a smile. If your order is to go, request napkins as they perhaps don't have a custom of placing them in the bag (they didn't place them in my plastic bag). Unfortunately, they don't accept credit cards but cash only. There is an ATM. Each transaction is $2 plus what your bank will charge you.
Best pho I’ve ever had. Best pho in Toronto, quite possibly in all of Canada. I’m saying this as someone who was born and raised in Vancouver. Super delectable broth with the right amount of rice noodles for whatever size bowl you get. The brisket they use for their pho is so good. I always feel rejuvenated whenever I have a bowl. Photo taken back when indoor dining was open in Toronto (September 2020).
This is the place to go for pho. It is absolutely delicious. The price is right. The serving is great. Seriously if your ever in the region of this restaurant go check it out. You won't be disappointed
The standout in a bowl of beef pho I recently had from Pho Tien Thanh was an excellent broth. Clear and full of flavour, it was accentuated with the addition of herbs, as well as a squeeze of lime. The meat serving was generous, and a medium size bowl was very filling. I'd be very excited to return, and try out some more Vietnamese options on the menu!
Revisited due to decent food on my first visit. This time, the noodles were completely overcooked and mushy, beef had a lot of inedible sinew parts. Really disappointing. Service was slow and we had to wait a long time for our lunch.
Hands down this is the best pho restaurant in the city! Service is quick and they are generous with their portions. Sometimes I order just the broth because it’s that good!
Portions are much smaller than other Vietnamese places. Ordered #65 with shrimp, bbq pork and spring rolls and was disappointed with portion. Otherwise the food was good. Again, pricey for its size.
They say the best pho is determined by the broth and this place does not disappoint! The broth is flavourful, refreshing, and light. The beef is also great, not fatty like some other spots. Probably the best pho in the city!
My new favorite Pho place:) Staff are friendly and thankful for the business. The food is delish and portions are great! Much better overall than Golden Turtle down the street.
Best pho place in Toronto. Hit the house special with some lime and it's game over! Rice and vermicelli dishes are great as well, and spring rolls are always a must. Vietnamese coffee is very good as well, not too strong.
I visited here just because of the Majid Jordan music video and I was blown away by how good the house pho is. It has a variety of beef in it (including tripe) and the broth was so so good. Highly recommended.
I got a medium and it was $10 before HST. Cash only.
I came in the afternoon and was gretted with fast service. I got the shrimp pad thai- mind you the portions are large. Overal it was pretty tasty. CASH ONLY!
Huge portions (I got the large house pho) and delicious! The beef and the onions are slightly thicker cut than I'm used to but I loved that there were lots of tripe and tendons. The shrimp and papaya salad required more tartness for my taste, so I added more vinegar.
By and far, this is the BEST pho I have ever had! The broth is the basis for any great pho, it was delightfully flavourful but not salty, ever-so slightly sweet and perfectly fragrant! Good portions! Quaint and no-frills decor with family shared tables. Being in business for 30+ years, you guys are doing something right! Please expand to Scarborough/Markham! You would bring the local pho places to their knees!
The only thing I have to criticize is that we were charged for green onions, when we requested no bean sprouts.
It’s the best pho i had in toronto but every god damn time i find hair in my bowl.you shouldn’t expect hygiene in this place.flies and fruit flies are everywhere during the summer.personally it’s worth it for the taste.
First timer today! Ordered the special pho and it was perfect. I go out for pho quite often and this is the first time not putting any sriracha or hoisin in my broth. It was perfect as is! Spring rolls were delicious and crispy too.
Go to spot for Vietnamese food. The broth in the pho is spot on and the Cia Gio (friend spring rolls) are a must eat. Crispy and chewy. By far the best spring roll in Toronto!
Definitely 5 star. Best pho place in town. Its hidden. Dont worry about the outer beauty. Taste counts. Food is really really good. Always very busy. Fast service though. Make sure to bring cash. They have atm but atm charges. Enjoy.
Meh, 40 bucks for lunch for two - not bad but could defiantly find better price wise. Food was alright, meat was very fatty, portion and presentation was good, service was quick but restaurant could use a deep clean. Very dirty and dusty.
Decent viet place in Toronto. Food was good and comfortable and while the tables were clean, I could swear the spoons had the wet mildew smell? Beware and wipe down utensils before use!
Hair found in soup. I told the waitstaff and they grabbed my soup, and return the same soup. I could tell because I added lime in my soup. The soup returned to me had a strong scent of lime
Best Pho in the City. I come here at least twice a week. The owners are the nicest. Always there to greet you with a smile. The food is amazing thats why this place is always packed.
Great value authentic pho in a fuss-free ambience. They have an extensive menu of Vietnamese favorites at amazing prices, and we will definitely be back to try them out. We tried out the house special and a drink each, and spent less than $30 for two bowls of pho, Vietnamese coffee and coconut juice - definitely a steal. Their iced Vietnamese coffee is unreal.
A local favorite, this is very authentic Vietnamese food. VERY inexpensive, great portions and amazing quality will keep you coming back. It's always busy for a reason!
- Really nice ambience and interior design - Great pho with even greater taste - Unique menu - not just typical pho with various options of which type of meet you want to put in, but have noodle vs salad with dried pho option. - Pretty quiet unlike typical pho place - Open kitchen - HEALTHY taste, and with no msg - has a vegan option - has a take-out option
Great little spot for pho. There's lots to choose from, even a few Thai dishes (I didn't try the Thai dish but saw someone at another table eating the pad thai, and it looked DELICIOUS). Most menu items are under $10, except for the large sized bowls. You can also choose a small or medium bowl, and to be honest, the small bowl was plenty for me. I ordered the chicken pho, and I absolutely loved it! I usually don't drink the broth after I eat the noodles, but I liked that it was a perfectly blend of favours without being overly salty.
