This is by far, in my opinion, the best Vietnamese food around. I have never tasted a better peanut sauce. And they are very accommodating with vegan/vegetarian options. The food is always so fresh, tasty, fairly priced, and the restaurant is cute and friendly.
Let's start this off with I have issues trying new foods and textures. A very serious issue with it. I have never tried this type of cuisine and we decided tonight for date night to try something altogether new on referral from a girl friend. I WAS NOT DISSAPPOINTED! We each got a medium soup and 2 rolls each (veggie and chicken with peanut sauce). The portions are big! Service was amazing, and quick. Its a cute little spot and great for a quiet date night. And the price point is such a breath of fresh air in this economy. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things. 10/10 recommended.
Fresh vegetables / meat and even better service. Family ran, we were served by an older gentleman. We ordered the rice noodles chicken and the beef vermicelli. Both my partner and I cleaned our plates up that doesn’t happen often and for that reason it’s 5 stars for me! The bill came up to under $50 with tip, what a steal. Already planning my next visit, thank you for the meal and the great service!
Just ok pho. Broth was good but they only allowed two ingredients. And I asked for rare beef but as you can see it's already cooked when it got to me. Lacking a bit in portions, ordered medium pho and was actually still a bit hungry at the end.
Great food and service, they gave me free tea while I waited for takeout as it was a little cold outside and I was under the weather. I don't write reviews often but they deserved a stellar commendation.
I've been coming here for almost 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Good portions, fair prices, and excellent friendly service. Ask for some Chilli paste if you want to add an extra spicy kick to your meal.
Best Pho in Ottawa! We've been coming here for 6 years and are never disappointed. You get the same quality food every single time. The restaurant is always clean too! Owner is also really nice & friendly! We will never stop recommending this spot:)
This was some of the best soup I have had outside Vietnam! We started with the delicious pork spring rolls and then I had the S$ Spicy beef and noodle with chicken broth. Everyone kept stealing my broth. The standard Pho was also delicious! The staff and owner were also amazing. While we were there a patron left their purse and he ran out after to find her in the cold (and did). Well done and we will be back!
Just found this little gem of a place and so glad I did. I have been a huge fan of pho and eating it my whole life in Ottawa. Recently some friends brought me here for the first time. I was super impressed. The ingredients were vibrant and fresh, the place was super clean, the service was in point and friendly and there was also some great veggie and vegan options if you just simply ask your server. This place quickly jumped onto my top 3 places for pho in Ottawa. Keep up the great work!
This place has been our favourite Vietnamese restaurant for the past 4 or 5 years. The food is excellent, the owners are friendly and the price is fair.
The food is always consistent in quality and quantity.
Not ideal managers, full of attitude, can’t accept any criticism, very unwelcoming. Just because I told them their pad Thai is extremely salty, they were so offended and they couldn’t take this as a food pitfall, manager took it back to kitchen and asked me if I want it packed away or thrown in the garbage. And I said to throw it in the garbage as me and my nanny couldn’t even finish the first bite, it was just full of salt and sauce.
He told me that he off course would charge me for it.
This is probably one of the tastiest pho soups I have had in Ottawa. The prices there are extremely affordable. The put enough meat on you soup and the sizes of the soups are good.
The gentleman that waited on us was so polite and helpful. Great experience and charming place.
Overall I enjoyed the experience and my food (Pad Thai) was delicious. Getting tea served right away, and the general service were also great.
The only reason I give four stars is that there aren't many vegetarian/vegan options, and the ones you can get are a bit generic. This cuisine is generally really great for that, but if I see more (creative) options in the future in this regard I will gladly upgrade my review.
Comfortable eatery with great service. The food was very fresh and tasty. The pho broth was especially flavourful. You can tell that this restaurant puts a lot of time and care in preparing their delicious food!
Excellent little restaurant. The food is fantastic and the quality and freshness of the ingredients are great. I strongly recommend the coco-milk spicy soup (item S8). Staff are friendly and polite. Great customer experience and the place is clean and well maintained. Funny observation: The entrance door was installed backward, remember so you don't hurt your fist when trying to push your way out.
We were a party of four. The place was clean and the service was good. The menu had multiple items we wanted to try and what we each ordered, they all had a good taste and a generous size. Prices were very reasonable, you could even consider it is inexpensive.
Small and clean boutique pho with very flavourful soup and fresh ingredients. Way better than all the Toronto big pho chains that taste like MSG and chicken powder.
Good flavor and pho in town highly recommendable. The owners and staff are really excellent with their service.would love to come back here again made me remember pho in hanoi
The place is very clean and quaint. Cleanliness was maintained throughout the restaurant. Service was pretty fast and good as well. We tried the S5 and S4 and the shrimp wontons. Quite flavorful soups, I must say, I was not impressed with the spice level. It did say it was spicy on the menu. I suppose it wasn’t as spicy for me. Overall, it’s an excellent spot for date night.
Although on Wellington St and far from the China Town vibe, this quaint restaurant still maintained the ambience and service of its Somerset counterparts. Many places to park in front of the restaurant and on side streets.
My main was the Thai Soup with Rare Beef (S4 on the menu)
The broth was flavourful, the beef was thinly sliced and quite delicious! And everything tasted and smelled fresh! Would definitely go again to this location for a quick high quality pho instead of making the trip to China town where parking can be quite difficult.
My name is Maurice aka Moe lol I go there all the time I no the owners verry well the food the service is great 10 stars best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa go chek it out worth every penny the best phoe in town
The ambience, very family friendly. The food? Fantastic. They’re very generous with portions. I had the shrimp roll and stirfry beef with rice. It was amazing. 100% recommend.
Authentic fresh vietnamese food. Cleaned out my plate. It tastes so good and the price is quite reasonable. The hosts are a kind and sweet vietnamese couple. Highly recommended!
It was yesterday, we got terrible color discrimination. We went there with our friends all 9 people. Owner requested only 10people (including the 3 employee from that restaurant) allow in restaurant with covid restrictions policy. So our 2 friends understood and left out from that restaurant. Only we 7 friends were having lunch, later after 5mins 2 blonde white ladies came in and heard the owner explained about covid policy. But the ladies wanted take out the food so the owner asked them waited in the restaurant. Then we noticed the two ladies were eating food and all we were 12people in that restaurant which is against the policy. We told the owner and the owner said " That's my restaurant my policy ".
Discovered a new pho place that I will definitely be returning to when I'll be in the Westboro area. They have a decent selection on their menu. Great food, reasonable prices and good service/friendly staff.
This place is truly amazing! My wife and I went here for our date night. The S8 soup is soooo good the spring rolls are the perfect starter. For sure will come back and recommend this place if you’re in the mood for some awesome soup!
It’s a nice and spacious restaurant. Went here during lunch during the week.
Ordered the noodle soup with rare beef and beef brisket. An issue I had was that the beef wasn’t exactly rare like I’ve seen at other Vietnamese restaurants, so that was a little disappointing. The noodles were good and the broth was also great.
Would definitely try one of the fresh spring rolls next time.
Located close to the Metro on Wellington, this is a fantastic hidden gem in the Wellington/Westboros neighbourhood. Everything is delicious, and the staff are very patient in explaining any menu items you may have questions about. The pho noodle soup comes in three sizes, don't be shy about asking them to show you the bowl if you are not sure what size to order. If you like spicy hot, you can ask them to make your food very hot, but be careful what you ask for!
Dropped by this nice family run place while on vacation with my parents to check out the fall colors in Gatineau park. 9/10 for the pho and crispy noodles!
Very clean, cozy place, great food, but the service was terrible, hence the 2 stars! When we arrived we were not greeted with a hello. "For three? Sit anywhere"! First off the server comes no hello.sprays and wipes table in front of us.sprays me, I say nothing! We were handed the menus and a piece of paper and pen.nothing explained like we have been there before. We were not told we had to write our own order down and that instructions were on the first page of menu! We were always saying please and thank you.with no response! When we asked for some plates for the rice.server actually huffed how the heck are we supposed to eat right off the one plate? ! Sever never came and asked if we would like another drink or anything! As I go up to the front to pay same server doesnt ask how eveything was.nothing So I asked if he was having a bad day? He said yes. I nicely explained to him that bad day or not you still have to be courteous and welcoming, especially in the restaurant industry explained a few things.hopefully he "Got It" but doubtful! With that said unfortunately, we will not be back or recommend
Everyone in Ottawa has their favourite pho place. This one is mine! Tasty broth. Generous portions. Decent prices. Broth is probably the best I've had in Ottawa. I love having it so close by. Steps at front mean it's not accessible, though.
Note: C-
Have been going here for a while, and noted a decline in quality of food and service recently. Was refused side plates (? !) and my Singapore noodles were mushy and overcooked. Pho is mediocre at best now.
