Pricy menu, food quality so so. Overrated HK style café restaurant.
Party of 4 can easily spent 100$ if not paying by CASH.
I won’t recommend to pay a visit.

Went there with friends.

Service was great. Staffs with smiles, explained things in details. Fast act.

Food was great. But a bit pricy, We ordered pork chop rice with tomato sauce, fried rice noodle with beef, meat spaghetti.

Atmosphere was OK. We sat closed to the entrance. End up people opened doors (double doors) all the time, felt sp cold.

Parking was a bit odd.

To be honest, it would be unpalatable to eat in a tea restaurant. The baked rice was hard to eat, and it had a weird ginger flavor all over it. Dry-fried beef is not delicious, there is no pan flavor and it is over-fried, giving it a burnt taste.

Ordered the haianese chicken rice dish and it was honestly amazing. Chicken tasted amazing with the rice. Also comes with a free hot drink. Would definitely come back.

The menu is extensive and offers a lot of choice.

The portion sizes are very big and most dishes comes with a hot drink or can of pop. Service is quick, and the atmosphere feels like a quick in and out type resraurant. It can get busy. The parking lot is small so it can get difficult to finda parking spot. All and all a good place for a meal.

The beef in the sirloin steak was very stale and had a fishy smell. The rice in the stone pot rice was very hard and looked like it had been cooked in the microwave for a long time. The chicken had no flavor either. The overall dish was terrible and not delicious. Not recommended.

Solid Phoenix restaurant. New location for me which borders on a very busy street, Yonge St. I love the comfort food of a HK diner type of food so Phoenix is best. The menu is very extensive so has it variety. I wish it had an all day set snack/meal special. Compared to the former location that was at Dundas/Yonge, this menu more to offer. I was craving for instant noodle with luncheon and egg. Can’t really go wrong with that. The waitress was very courteous and also informed us of a promotion for a free drink. Had to scan a QR code and order for dine-in and table number. Got me an extra cold HK tea. Only thing I was a bit befuddled is how a cold version of a hot drink (ie. HK milk tea) is 1.50 extra. That’s a bit steep for basically, ice. The portions are reasonable and is a popular place as around noon time the place was bustling. Glad they have a location closer to the city, not close enough, but works for me when I have a craving.

The food was okay, and in comparison to other Hong Kong restaurants it's also quite a bit more expensive. It's a solid 3/5 for me.

However, I got served raw chicken. I've eaten a huge amount of Hainese chicken and it's never been raw like this.

For the price, I was not expecting that quality. Also, I did not get a refund for the raw chicken and for that it gets a 1/5.

Phoenix always serves up delicious Hong Kong cafe staples, and this one does it with style. Everything we order from here is amazing, and their service is fantastic.

This place does not miss

Fantastic spot for a Hong Kong-style cafe. The service we received was really friendly and the food and drinks were delicious! The lemon honey iced tea had the perfect amount of sweetness and tea flavour. Although the menu might be small compared to other places, you can't go wrong with the options. Everything we ordered was perfect.

Delicious food. Reminds me of hong kong style fast food I had as a child. Great prices too

This is more like Phoenix Restaurant Lite rather than 2.0. You get a much, much reduced menu compared to the original branches. It perhaps would cater to people looking for snacky foods. For example, you would struggle to find a rice dish with vegetables. It also closes early so watch for that. I will not be coming back to this location on account of the menu not having the dishes I want but if the menu is suitable for you then it would be ok.

The power of the building went out just as we were gonna make dinner. I wanted to get Japanese but bf wanted this instead. I'd walked past this place many times and thought they were like a Cantonese restaurant but i was surprised to see their menu being a full on Hong Kong cha-chaan-teng (HK-style diner/greasy spoon).

As a Hong Kong boy, my expectation was high and this place lived up to my expectation, especially when this (cheese casserole with fried chicken in tomato sauce) which is one of my all time fav HK dishes (also the BF was the only white guy the entire time we were there, while most of everyone around us spoke pretty much in Cantonese).

A good balance of the sauce, cheese and rice, which came fried already (instead of plain steamed rice, bonus point!).

I was very torn between getting the HK style iced tea or Thai iced tea (both of which being my fav!) but I opted for the latter, as I was feeling adventurous and again that blew my socks off. Their Thai iced tea was even better than the one I got from another Thai dessert place in downtown that's run by Thai folks, which changed a bunch of key ingredients to "suit with the local taste" (whatever that means - or perhaps cheaper alternatives they could find here or simply skip!)

Hidy, our server, was super attentive. We were very curious at the awesome looking dessert we saw other orders. Hidy saw we were searching for the menu to see what that other table ordered, and came by to tell us what it was.

All and all, this is a good find for an authentic cha-chaan-teng experience. (Only cash or debit at check out)

BAD SERVICE! Only treated certain customers who spoke Cantonese nicely. Food was very watered down, ordered a chicken katsu with rice but there was barely any chicken and way too much rice. Also ordered a vegetarian dish out of the limited selection of vegetarian dishes and was given the wrong order which wasn't vegetarian friendly. Not accommodating for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. Didn't get so much as a goodbye or thank you when leaving the restaurant and felt very unwelcome the whole time. Entered the place hoping for something fulfilling, left with a terrible taste in the mouth.
