Hainanese chicken rice was quite disappointing, the chicken was not fresh. The beef curry is very spicy, but the beef is quite tender and the portion is sufficient. Because the location is good, people come in all the time and business is good. It’s okay to eat whatever you want.
They have a large selection and all look so good. Milk tea and milk tea with coffee are excellent, red bean ice drink as well. We ordered few lunches and they are good for the price. I will go back again.
Everything sucks. The Italian noodles is not good. This HK classic doesn’t even add cheese. Portions are small. The beef bitter melon rice is 20 % ingredients and rest 80% rice. Complete rip off. Doesn’t give free soup. Go to Pine house cafe instead. Safe money
We came here for morning breakfast, the breakfast menu has a lot of different options. We ordered the Satay Beef vermicelli and Pineapple Bun with egg & ham combos. Each combo came with a hot drink. Within 5 minutes of order, the food was served on the table.
Visited this location on a super early Sunday morning right at opening at 8am. Group of four of us ordered 7 breakfast items. We were hungry! During breakfast only their breakfast menu is available. From the choices, it was mainly sandwiches, noodle/macaroni in soup type dishes available. That’s fine but wanted to put this information there for folks who might see the whole menu thinking they they can order all this. I have included their breakfast menu for you to see.
Service was good, and you can order thru the waiter or there are QR codes and you enter in your table number.
I would return, but price for what you are paying may be slightly higher due to inflation and shrinkflation.
The waitress refused to acknowledge that she wrote the wrong order down. She would not return the food back to the kitchen as it would cost money and refused to let me speak to a manager to resolve this!
I love this location the most. Have been their customers for 10+ years and the food always taste fresh and delicious. My favourites are french toast and satay beef noodle soup.
I used to come to this restaurant but this is the first time I brought my 1 year-old along. Upon entering the restaurant, I was told that the baby stroller was not allowed. The waitress asked me if I could remove the seat and take the frame back to the car. Unfortunately the seat was not designed to be used alone. On the other hand, they don’t have high chairs for young children. I thought about having my child sit on my lap and I can fold up the stroller to save some space. It was a regular size stroller. The waitress said no I cannot stow the folded stroller on the side. I understand from her point of view there’s limited space but I feel like she can provide alternatives to best accommodate a customer’s needs. First of all she could’ve tried to remove a seat for me to fit a stroller there. Many restaurants do that to customers with young children. If she doesn’t think it’s feasible she should’ve asked if I’d be willing to wait until there’s a corner table with more space. Anyways I’m not happy with the customer service this restaurant provides. If baby strollers are not allowed, I question if they would tell a customer in wheelchair that no wheelchairs are allowed. The sizes are similar. If they have restrictions for strollers, they should post a sign outside that says no strollers and wheelchairs so at least the customers are aware of the restaurant’s policy. I’ve been to many restaurants with my child and never encountered anything like this.
Phoenix Restaurant - My mom had a craving for some #hainanesechickenrice so we hit up @phoenixrestaurant. Yum! Quick service (albeit not the friendliest), a tasty meal and what more can I say? It definitely hit the spot.
Anyone have any good recommendations for #hainanesechickenrice in our great city? Hollatchaboy! #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
Our lunch was excellent hot and tasty. My wife and I loved the hot coffee tea mix drink. The service was also wonderful thank you May, Kay, Ming, Jessica, Janet and Winnie.
This is my go to hk style cafe! The baked dishes are always good, especially the baked pork chop with cheese in tomato and cream sauce on rice (Y04). Would highly recommend for when you’re feeling for something delicious and comforting!:)
Service is very friendly! Hong Kong milk tea is the best in town here, food is always above standards. Highly recommend if you like Hong Kong Cafe style food and drink.
Really good tasty food. You have so many different choices. People who are working there are so friendly. It was great experience. I really recommend you to try it. ;) 真的是很好吃。有好多的选择。 服务员也真的很nice 介绍了很多不同的东西给我们。 真的很开心。记得一定去试一下哦。
Ordered Cutterfish ball fish broth with yunnan vermicelli and chicken steak in black pepper sauce on rice. Delicious food and perfect temperature. Service is good and clean environment.
Good place for Cantonese cafe foods. Lots of selection from baked pork chop on rice, to satay beef soup noodles, to egg salad sandwiches. Been coming for years and quality has stayed the same. Restaurant checks your covid passport and takes temperature test at entrance, while keeping to distancing protocols.
The price has gone up a bit but the quality has returned, reminiscent of the smoky work taste found in traditional Hong Kong fare. Service is above average considering HK style cafes with great drinks.
Busy HK-style restaurant. Huge selection of food and good overall quality. I really enjoy their curry, soup noodles and the crispy fried chicken cutlet.
