Although you are one of the oldest Hong Kong-style tea restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area, the overall quality is not as high as expected, especially the rough texture of the pineapple buns, which may be due to a discrepancy in the ratio of espresso and baking powder. As a result, the pineapple buns lost their original soft texture.

I ordered stir-fried noodles with black pepper pork ribs and Japanese baked pork chop rice. They can be described in one word: salty

If you’re looking for a causal HK diner type place that offers a selection of noodle soups and rice dishes, this is the place for you.
They also open early for Asian HK breakfast like instant noodle soup with Hong Kong Milk tea. They have kids meal options too that come with a yogurt drink and sides for the kiddos. And all really well priced overall.
And if your a fan of Haianese Chicken, it’s fabulous here and we’ll season from the chicken to the rice. It’s a must try if you like that dish. It’s large menu so they is going to be something for everyone. There are multiple locations and maybe one near you to try. It’s fairly clean inside and service is quick but it’s nothing fancy and very basic inside. But the food has been generally pretty good

My brother brought me better, and he hyped it up saying it's a very popular restaurant which he considered wanting to open a franchise. The wait to get a seat took around 15 minutes - another common sign that the restaurant must be very good. Well, maybe it was because the expectations were set so high that I was disappointed when I got my dish. I got the "Malaysian curry beef on rice in Thai style (spicy) ", but the curry didn't have much flavour, and it was a very mild spicy. I can't say it was terrible, but it wasn't what I consider good either. The beef was very tender, at the very least. And it was great that it came with a can of pop for the lunch special.

8 of us came here for lunch at 1: 15 pm, we asked for 2 nearby tables; the receptionist said it is not possible; and she refused to give an estimate on the time needed to wait.
She said we either take the one 4-person table that came up, or wait outside the restaurant (despite we had an 90+ year old lady standing up waiting)! She added that once we take up and sit down at one 4-person table, we cannot move closer to another table. I found her attitude extremely rude compared to other phoenix restaurants.
All Food we consumed were mediocre; the best dish was the HK-styled French toast.
The overall experience was disappointing! I shall not come back to this place again.

Pretty mediocre Hong Kong style breakfast and yet always so crowded on weekends. The satay beef noodles is probably one of the better dishes I’d recommend.

Staple Cantonese HK restaurant.
Quality and service has been consistent.
Prices are comparable.
Can't go wrong with their baked spaghetti or rice dishes.
Their lunch set specials are good as well and come with a drink (extra for cold drinks), we usually get the fried chicken wing with fries with cold lemon tea.

Mainly fish soup rice noodles, Hong Kong style plate rice and fried noodles, as well as baked rice, curry, Hainanese chicken, and desserts! The plate rice is big and tastes good!
The kitchen is so fast! It takes about five minutes to get something to eat!

Go to a typical Chinese Food court, you will find plenty of options offering HK Stir-fry “Fast-Food”. And if you are successful enough, you get to open a restaurant, then another, then start franchising. Golden Phoenix is obviously very successful in the GTA and their formula delivers quick, no-frill food court favourites in a slightly elevated setting (than the food court). But don’t kid yourself, do not expect service or atmosphere you would associate with the word “restaurant”, GF still has its DNA rooted in its food court past and given the success, it sees no reason to change. Cash expected.

Food was ok. I ate lunch menu item 29, Yunnan Vermicelli w/ Deep Fried Tofu Fish Cake in Fish Broth. It was good. I also order the cold lemon tea, but taste was very bad felt that it was diluted and doesn’t taste like tea. I didn’t take any photos since I was in a rush! I gave 3 stars for atmosphere because the place looks little dated!

Hong Kong style food. Dishes can be pretty bland. They also have bubble waffle and other Hong Kong style desserts so it's a good place to bring kids. They give you a 15% if you spend more than $20

Love coming here for their HK style dishes. I recommend getting the hainanese chicken rice and iced lemon tea. Food is good, but the service is a little lacking. Make sure you bring cash, because this place is cash only.

This is a popular HK style restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Food quality is great but servings are small. There is always a wait here.

Scam. Beware, buy one second one half price, they use the lowest price one for half price.i. E.order ten dishes, the cheapest side say costs only $5, so the overall bill only saving $2.5 for over $100 spending.

Food and drinks quality is quite consistent. The place is normally packed so you just have to line up. If it's not too many people in front of me. I would still stay and wait it out. The HK milk tea and the (coffee mixed with hk milk tea) is quite good. Place is clean but a bit loud. So if you are looking for quiet fine dining. This place definitely won't be on your to go list.

Typical Hong Kong diner. Very crowded on a Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. Cheap, fast food. Cash only. Huge menu. Disinterested service. Hong Kong tea.

Every time I go, the food quality is always the same guaranteed! (No surprises) - sometimes I think they have some hi-tech stuff that clones their dishes.

Why people come here is beyond me. Mediocre food that is unfairly priced. They're currently doing a 50% off two orders special right now and if they're still able to make bank from that it should be obvious how hard the people who eat here normally are getting scammed.
