Roughly about 90 acres of land, city of Richmond Hill was lucky to receive as a gift from Foster family. There is a picnic area, dog off leash park, pond, a few short trails, and various educational programs for children. No children playground located in the park or designated area for BBQ though.

The fact that the washrooms do not have a sink for handwashing is exasperating! How can that be allowed. Isn't it a violation of the building code? You MUST install a sink with running water or if that is not possible due to the well-related issue, then have a portable handwashing station on a permanent basis pls. Thank you.

Please take note that this park lacks proper sinks for handwashing after using the washroom. Therefore, if you plan to send your kids to a summer camp here, be aware that they won't have access to traditional handwashing facilities. Instead, the camp relies on hand sanitizers and one jug of water as an alternative. While the camp itself was enjoyable, I find it perplexing that York Public Health permits the City of RH to operate day camps from this location under such circumstances!

"Take me down to pothole city where the holes are deep and the roads are dirty! Oh won't you please take me home~. "

Very muddy. Looks like park is not maintained. But most importantly, I would never come back because we had a very bad experience with Richmond Hill city employee here. We were having a dog meet-up here on a Saturday afternoon celebrating dogs’ birthdays and the park was empty except us. When we were about to leave, out of the blue, a city employee walked into the park with smile in her face and asked us if all our dogs are licensed. She said we need to share all our information with her if the dog is not licensed. We told her we were about to leave but she threatened to fine us $300 (lol) or she will run our plates in the parking lot (lol). We wasted 15minutes entertaining her because she wouldn’t let us leave. I’ve been to many other dog parks in Toronto in the past 3 yrs and I’ve never experienced this. This was my first time trying a park in Richmond Hill park and I learned the lesson; this city would do anything to get more money from anyone. Who builds a public dog park and sends an employee to trap all dog owners for more $$? AVOID all parks in Richmond Hill at all cost if your purpose of visit is to enjoy your time with your dog.

We went to the dog park, it is a couple minute walk from the parking area at the end of the road. It has a large and small dog area. The large dog area is very spacious and has nice flat ground to play fetch on. There are benches around the perimeter for seating. There isn't much shade here though.

Great walk, not a fan of the unpaved gravel road but other than that, quite a few places to walk. We saw tad poles. They do have public toilets. We were looking for cherry blossoms but did not find any. There are multiple parking lots here, lots of people doing their community farming as well.

A nice little park with a short looped trail, a couple ponds and dog off leash area. Some spots around the ponds were wet, wet, wet. There were a bunch of trees blossom, not sure they were sakura, cherry or something else. It was a Saturday morning, it was not busy. The gravel paved road needs some repair.

Great place to take a walk with frds, but watch out for the muds, you can really get your shoes soaking wet.

I love the dog park.
My dog loves it too.
Spacious. Clean. Safe. Secure area for small dogs.
Easy access, free parking Space.
The bad! Dirt road from Leslie to parking lots.

Instead of calling it a park, I would call it a conservatory area for picnic and unleashed dog running. The pond was nothing exciting, period.

Very nice dog park.dog owners please keep an eye on your dog while they are running, there are many holes hidden on the ground.

Please see update.

Original post: Love the dog park here only complaints are they don't fill the huge holes so dogs can easily injure themselves and the bugs are bad since there is so much nearby brush

Update! 5 stars! The park read my review and fixed the holes! What a great response thank you thank you!

Here is a pic of Maya beside one of the filled holes

A tranquil getaway not far from home, with trail, boardwalk, forest, picnic area, nice for family or solo visit. Be aware that the west portion of the big circle trail (close to Leslie st) is well soaked maybe for riding bicycle (slowly) but not for walking.

Nice little loop park in Richmond Hill. Good to walk and relax for all ages. Dogs are welcome in the park. Special surprise to see a couple of cherry trees.

Beautiful park! You can have a great walk here. There is a pond, an off leash dog area, young trees, older trees, birds, very grateful to the owner of this place for sharing it with others. Very saddened to see that people litter. We need to respect and take care if the earth and one another.

Clear signage, easy walking. Pond with bird singing. Huge unleash dog area. True sense of spring

Awesome park, lots of parking. Very dog friendly because of the off leash dog section. It made for very interesting walks with our toddler. He loved seeing all the dogs. Lots of snow, so we were able to pull our son on his toboggan through the park.

Improvement in picnic ground required.
Road needs to get repaired.
Washrooms are closed during weekend which is not make any sense since you go to picnic during weekend.

Overall, it does have very good potential to be a perfect place for picnic.

I love this park! It's beautiful and there's so much to do. You can even make reservations for special events for a small fee. Washrooms are available on site! If you want a nice nature walk, you should definitely consider this park!

Although we live in Newmarket, I enjoy visiting this park. It is beautiful and so peaceful. Did a nice walk there today. Next time, I plan to see the old house and get photos of it.

Nice little park but not much shade. There are some short trails, a pond, a small bbq area and dog park.
24 July 2019 9:48
Small park but has a lot of space for off leash dog area. Trails are circular and not too many people usually. The park is somewhat maintained but you do see overflowing garbages at times. Picnic area is also small, good for 4 families at most.

Nice place close to city but poor drainage on trails around ponds. If not wearing waterproof footwear a soaker is inevitable

One of the closest and quietest park to our family. We did our tree planting there, family photo shoot there and tons of biking there! Great size park for kids to bike (6-10)!
10 July 2019 19:45
Pretty nice natural environment. However, there's no tap water in the washroom or anywhere else in the park area. The Off-Leash area for small dog is not confined good enough. Small dog under 15 lbs could slip out through the gap under the fence.

A bit confusing to get to the dog park if it’s your first time.

You can go to the first large parking lot and take the most left entrance and walk accross the boardwalk.
Or you can drive at the very end parking lot and walk into the path past the barn.

We love this dog park because it is a really big open space. It gives our dogs enough space so they can sprint and run around. However, the grass is not often maintained and you can spot quite a few mushrooms.
15 November 2018 7:07
Really love this park especially the dog park. It's really big and looks well taken care of with lots of grass for dogs to run in. Took a star off because I think more signs are needed to direct people or woodchips to lay down a clearer path. I had to ask someone to direct me and as I was leaving, another family asked to get directed.
