Physical Therapy One @ Maple Leaf Gardens

After 20 years with the same amazing chiropractor (Dr. Dale Okabe - now happily retired!), I’ve spent the past two years auditioning candidates to fill his very much missed position in my life. Or the life of my spine!

Three unsuccessful chiropractors later I hit the jackpot when I was referred to Dr. Arif Alarakhia. During my first visit Arif took the time to thoroughly listen and review my medical history, my current concerns, answer all my questions, suggest / demonstrate home exercises and a follow-up treatment / maintenance plan. I could immediately tell that here was a chiropractor who knew his stuff and had the patience to educate his patients in how to maintain their best physical health. This was the same attitude held by Dr. Dale Okabe who, if truth be told, had given me much of the same information but information given when your body is twenty years younger should definitely be revisited and reapplied at least every decade or two! While the three other unsuccessful chiropractic candidates also went through the same consultation and visits, none of them were as detailed, thorough or took the extra time to ensure I fully understood the long-term ramifications of my own body mechanics. I honestly felt that my payment $$$ was more important to them than correcting, avoiding long-term health issues! With Arif I feel as if I have found a health partner who wants me to succeed independent of him and is happy to see me for maintenance treatments as required.

As I said to Arif after my first visit:
“You are a miracle worker. Truly. I'm not sure if it was your poking and prodding or the electrode treatment.but I have had no pain since our appointment and no morning stiffness. I jump out of bed in the mornings without even thinking about my back! I can truly say that my lower back feels back to normal. After two months, that's a big woohoo for me! Now, let’s get to work fixing things so that nothing like this happens again! ”

This place is amazing, accomodating and friendly! The message therapist Steven gives a very comforting Swedish massage. I recommend his hourly session. The chiropractor and orthotist Dr Arif is a gem! He will assess your body for improvements and help accordingly. He provided me shoes as I urgently needed them and I felt better right away. I recommend both the experts! The admin at door Dhanasharee is also extremely helpful. She will find out about your plan details and accommodate you accordingly. Also same for Orelia! I’ve been a regular since I went in first time.

I've been going here now for the past 5 or so years when it comes to getting my custom made orthotics and various physio therapy needs. Each visit is an awesome experience, and the amazing staff and specialists make being a loyal patient an exceptionally easy decision. 5 starts without question.

Everyone is extremely welcoming and professional. I have received three types of treatment at Physical Therapy One so far, and the experience has been exceptional. Dr. Arif is definitely my go-to chiropractor. He's knowledgeable, warm, and patient with any questions I have. Dr. Iman has helped me a lot with my chronic pain by offering effective physiotherapy sessions and teaching me exercises to do at home. Steven is the best massage therapist I have ever had. I’ve been coming to this clinic for 4 years now. Dr. Arif Alarakhia and his staff are so kind, positive, caring, and extremely professional. They take their time to discuss and never leave you feeling rushed. I have had a few different issues and Dr. Arif Alarakhia has always manage to chart a course for moving forward to recover from my foot problems.
Preckhya (nickname Pre) is the sweetest clinic manager I've met. She is very professional, knowledgeable, willing to go extra mile. She makes every visit very pleasant.
I am extremely satisfied with the quality of products they offer. They have the best shoes for Plantar Fasciitis and heel spur. I am now walking comfortably and less pain.

Overall Amazing Experience with Physical Therapy One:
I started doing sessions with Iman a few months ago after severely injuring my shoulder during sports. At the the time I had limited mobility and severe pain in the shoulder. He was AMAZING with not only helping the recovery of the shoulder, but also explaining through the process the purpose of each exercise/machine/activity. To pay for my treatments, their Patient Experience Coordinator, Prekchya, simply linked the payments to my work benefits and took care of the entire process. I highly recommend them and will choose them again should I require their services in another injury.

I’ve been going to Physio One Therapy for a year now and the place is clean and very well maintained. It is located very conveniently in the Loblaws. I’ve seen chiro, (Dr Ayaz), ortho (Dr Arif) and RMT (Shenelle). They are all very knowledgeable people and have helped me recover from my car accident. Because of their great service, even after the accident recovery period, I am still going to them for minor pains caused from working out and minor injuries.

Pre and Diana are clinic managers whom I’ve been contacting for any bookings or cancellations. They really try their best to call your insurance company to get a predetermination and also if possible, they will direct bill the company. For my Motor Vehicle Accident claim, they did everything for me and it was a very smooth process.

The orthotics for my knee pains are well made and they are very open to feedback. They have great service and is very detail oriented. They will explain everything to you before giving you their recommendation.

I've been going to PTO for 7 or 8 years, and it's been a wonderful experience the entire time. Every member of the team that I've worked with has been warm, knowledgable, reliable, and beyond helpful. They go above and beyond with all of their patients. I've been going for orthotics, physiotherapy, and massage. I feel super at ease when I'm there and look forward to my appointments. I couldn't recommend it more.

Their physiotherapy and chiropractic services are outstanding, with caring practitioners that take time to listen and aim for comprehensive wellness. Would definitely refer people to these services.

Their massage therapist, while skilled, is arrogant and closed off and doesn't open the door for even conversation beyond the appointment itself, and can be seen to walk around with her nose up in the air.

I have had both physical therapy for knee pain and custom orthotic assessments here recently.both of the doctors I dealt with were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this clinic for any physiotherapy related conditions or needs

Receptionist was incredibly patient and accommodating! My physiotherapist was Iman - he was very knowledgeable and patient. Terrific experience. It is located inside the Loblaws, on the ground-level next to the pharmacy.

I have been going to Physical one Therapy for 4-5 years now. They have amazing staff right from front desk experience to the patient and knowledgeable therapists. Been getting chiro, massage, orthotics, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, ultrasound therapy and all the tools to help me through life. They showed me exercises, got rid of my plantar facia foot pain, got me a tens unit to help with muscle pain, compression stockings etc. They also take the time to follow up with you to make sure you doing ok. As a flight attendant for many years, I recommend this company for all your help with extended care needs.

One stop shop. My first time getting fitted for orthotics and I learned so much about the mechanics behind my gait and posture. Dr. Alarakhia was very understanding and helpful about recommending products that would help me at work and also suggested more affordable options if these products were not covered by my insurance. I did not feel rushed at all, and the assessment was very thorough. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
