I financed a 2018 Volkswagen Golf R through Pickering VW, and I'm not someone who normally writes reviews but the treatment and welcoming that I was given by Tyler Cartier specifically, as well as all of the other staff members that did their best to get me the rates I was after, was wonderful. The process was seamless. From the appraisal of the vehicle I was trading in, to getting the loan for the vehicle, and finally to today which was delivery day where I arrived and everything on the back-end was taken care of, all I had to worry about was signing some documents and then exchanging keys.

Everyone involved did a great job and helped me get into the car that I wanted at an extremely reasonable price, and for that I am very grateful.

BUYERS BEWARE!

This place is ridiculous. So, I bought my car on December 13,2023 everything went smooth. We agreed on the 4.99% rate and some extras such as matts and oil change and also a false promise that I will have my car ready by first week of January. As I was leaving the dealership I saw an older man in tears literally tears crying to have his issue resolved. I was suspicious right then and there also the sales rep did not give me any paper work. Well fast forward to January, I tried to call them numerous times and finally they broke the news to me that it will be 5.49% and trying to put me in another car which was higher than MSRP on VW.ca. I was told that Volkswagen Canada prices do not reflect on their dealership price. My sales rep got very defensive and rude with me. I'm the most calm person ever but he managed to make me very upset. Anyways, I got my deposit back and got the car way cheaper at anothet Volkswagen dealership. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Try to shop at different Volkswagen dealership and see it yourself the price difference and the level of customer service.

This dealership does not value it's customers. I purchased a vehicle from them and there are now 2 safety recalls on the vehicle. They said they need my vehicle for the whole day so I would need to bring it in first thing in the morning. I don't have time to sit at the dealership all day. They didn't offer a loaner unless I rented à vehicle from them for $50 a day, even though they have 2 demos of the same vehicle I bought for sale on the lot. I called about another issue I had in the summer and asked for the service manager. I'm still waiting for that call back.

I had a bad water pump for my Tiguan I called around at different locations and everyone was busy. I was able to get an appointment on the Volkswagen website, I still ended up calling ahead just to make sure that I could get that appointment. I got in touch with one of their service advisors and she confirmed my appointment. I then called CAA to tow my truck to the location. One of their technicians called me, asking me about my car because it wasn’t starting apparently on top of the water pump issue. I told him that it was running and everything until the car started leaking coolant.

He seemed annoyed because he couldn’t start the car and made quite apparent of how annoyed he was that he was going to have to push my car into the warehouse. That was on Thursday afternoon. He said he would contact me the next day letting me know what was going on with my car. I waited the entire day with no call back. I called on the weekend and that’s when I was told that their service department is closed on the weekend. I was also told that they had lost a technician as well.

I then tried calling back constantly continuously getting the same response that they are busy and that they will call me. After constantly calling them down, they finally get back to me and they tell me that my entire engine is gone and that I need a replacement engine. I told him that my car was running just fine. It’s just a water pump. He then stated that my intake valves were bent and there was blow by. I asked him if he took off my block to verify that, which he did not answer I told him then OK I will come in the next day.

I ended up coming in the next day and I paid my $169 inspection fee. I told my car to another location which had fixed my water pump for around $1200. And I got my ignition lock fixed for $400.

I’m very upset at this location instead of refusing to work on my car they charged me an outrageous price for work on my car that did not need to be done. I can continue on with this story, but I am waiting for the managers reply. Feel free to look at the photos below.

As a car enthusiast, this location really has let me down. Also, when the tow truck driver came to pick it up from the location, he was able to start it and drive it up his tow ramp.

P. S my car is driving perfectly fine right now. (It would be nice to get my $169 back) *****

Took my brand new 2023 VW GTI there because the overhead panel stopped working, they rudely and shamelessly dismissed me saying that I should take it back to whoever I bought it from since they will end up not getting paid for it by VW. The service advisors are the rudest nastiest most dismissive-in-your-face people you'll encounter in a long time. Avoid this joke of a dealership.

The service at Pickering VW has greatly declined over the last couple years. My recent experience won’t have me coming back here again. The service advisor seemed to have no history of my vehicle which I’ve only taken to this dealership and kept trying to upsell other packages with little explanation when questioned.

This place has the worst customer service. Please don’t buy any vehicles there. They are very anxious to sell you and after you get your vehicle they don’t care about you. I had a crack on my windshield that started from the top edge without any stone chips and I called them because I thought it would be covered under the warranty because it was only 14 months old and had no stone chips on the windshield anywhere.
Without even seeing it they told me it is not covered and it must’ve been a stone and that I would have to replace it myself.
There’s also a software problem with my audio system in which sometimes when the phone is connected you can’t hear the person on the other end but they can hear you and they are aware of it but unable to fix it.
Then I was trying to get the buyout for my lease and I called around 10 times for the month of June so far. Everytime I called they said the finance manager was busy to leave a message, I left several messages when his mailbox was not full and he never returned my calls.
Today I called again and I was told the same thing by Mary who answered the phone. I told her that I’m not leaving any messages because I have been calling since the beginning of June and he never responded. Then Mary told me that he was on vacation in the beginning of June so maybe that’s why he didn’t call me back. I told her that I have been calling all month and there must be another finance person there when he is on vacation how would they sell any cars. Mary rudely responded that he is the only finance manager and they wait until he comes back from vacation to process the financing for the sales which is done when he is not there.
I told he this is ridiculous and very bad customer service. I still don’t know how I’m going to get the buyout for my vehicle. It’s like I’m literally begging them for it and still they don’t even care to provide me with the information.
I will definitely be getting in touch with the general manager and VW Canada to let them know of the terrible service they provide.
I leased several cars from different dealerships before but this is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.
I made one call to Seven View Chrysler for the buyout on my HPEV Rubicon and received a call back within minutes.
I only gave one star because you have to give at least one to get it to post, but they don’t deserve any star rating.

I had an amazing experience from day one till I got my car. Tyler was so professional and patient since I was hesitant about getting rid of my old baby. The car arrived clean and properly checked out as discussed. Tyler was such a wonderful person who made sure the entire process goes smoothly and it did!

Overall my experience was just perfect and smooth and I would definitely recommend contact Tyler if you are interested in purchasing a car from Pickering branch.would give a 10/10 but only allowed 5 so here we are.:)

We took a brand new car, bought less than a week ago because there was wind noise in the cabin, the mirrors don't fold down in reverse and the windshield wipers don't start automatically in the rain. Andy went out of his way to explain that the wind noise in the cabin is because my small blind spot mirrors attached to the the mirrors. Then he told us that he doesn't like the rain sensing wipers in his car. Then, he said that the mirrors don't fold down because of the same stick-on small mirrors. So now, when I put the car in reverse the mirror turns.up.so in the end, he did not fix anything and he made things worse. But what I loved the most was his attitude when he shoved a card into our faces and he told us to give him 5 stars on Google.

Amazing service from meraj, my dad used to go to whitby volkswagen but this time when he needed a new car, they were taking longer and unhelpful, called in to pickering and meraj was helpful every step of the way and got us into a brand new atlas within a week where as other dealers where telling us couple months minimum.if you need anything, make sure meraj is your guy.him and the sales manager michael are the best.

My son bought a used car from here. 4 weeks later the suspension and brakes failed on him and he got into a serious accident. We took it to our mechanic and long story short they lied on the work order and did 0 repairs to the car like they promised they would. Absolutely disgusting.

One of the sales reps says they are making you an appointment for the upcoming day and when you go for your appointment, you learn that there wasn't an appointment which results in endless waiting like there is only one sales rep. VW is a decent brand but if you want to get one, avoid pickering. Clearly they don't value your business.

We were anxiously waiting for the past 18 months for our ID. 4 and had the pleasure of picking it up this week with Aqram Masood. Although he is not the selling agent, our selling agent was unavailable and Aqram took it upon himself to give us 10 STAR Service! He spent over 55 minutes with us reviewing each and every feature (since we didnt get to see or drive the vehicle before ordering) and even took a small drive to make sure we are comfortable before leaving! His demeanor was friendly, customer service was superb and we appreciated every extra piece of advice we got from him as an ID. 4 driver himself. Thank you for your time and service Aqram! My experience at Pickering Volkswagen was wonderful. I have purchased two vehicles from them in the last year. I purchased my first vehicle from Andrew Reid, who was amazing to work with. He was very transparent about the process & available to answer any questions I had. I purchased my second vehicle this past June. I contacted Andrew directly who happened to be off on vacation, however he still assisted me & made sure to get me in contact with the right people. I was introduced to Tyler Cartier who again was amazing to work with. I was on a time crunch & Tyler was very accommodating & prioritized my purchasing process. I brought in my VW Touareg for a repair on my vehicle. This is my first time to this dealership and I was disappointed with their service. The major letdown is they used hex nuts to put back the cover on the fuel filter flange instead of the standard VW torque screws. So one side now has torque screws while the other has hex nuts. Second, their multi-point inspection was a big disappointment. They checked off the "Windshield washer fluid" as good when in fact, it was almost empty that I put in about 3/4 gallon by myself when I got home.

I have been servicing my vehicle at VW Pickering for the past few years and each time customer service has been phenomenal. Chris took care of my vehicle and kept me informed with issues that were found.

I requested a shuttle when the vehicle was ready and Chris was happy to schedule one. Ahmed arrived promptly and drove us safely to the entrance. Although my trip was short, Ahmed made it very enjoyable.

Recently I changed to my winter tires and in the process Ahmed went over and above this simple process to provide his own comprehensive review of brakes and tires health. He provided a verbal post review of his findings, with a set of exceptional pecies of direction on the health of the brakes and tires. Very very accommodating team at the Volkswagen. I had a bit of a unique story. I went there to change my tires while I brought my own tires. It turns out that the tires were not the right fit. James from their team went through the entire hassle of doing the validation and then putting the tires back on the original ones. And Ahmad was kind enough to give me a ride back and forth to my place. VW did not charge me a single dime for all their trouble. And kind gestures like this is why Volkswagen (Pickering) is my go to service spot now!

Went in for a routine oil change, which was completed, but then an additional note was left stating there was a "significant oil leak from engine" and a further diagnostic was required. Since it's a busy season, I could not book an appointment with them and had to book elsewhere. Another VW dealership realized what the issue was and stated they needed to do the repair and then do another oil change as doing this repair would require them to release the oil there already. So now I have to pay for a diagnostic, the new part, and ANOTHER OIL CHANGE since these dealerships are separate entities and don't collaborate on work.

I'm livid. VW Pickering, why would your technician complete an oil change when they identified a "significant" oil leak from my engine? Why not call me during and state "hey we have this issue, please let us know what you would like us to do? " Instead you charged me $150 for work that your technician probably knew they would have to re-do anyway.

This isn't right at all.

Second time I’ve gone to my home dealership (Pickering VW) for service. The service that Ahmed from shuttle service provides is outstanding. Hands down! As soon as he greeted me, he was polite, courteous, and very professional. He knows all the routes but that doesn’t matter because even if we got lost, I’d have a great adventure! The short trips to and from my destination were informative, funny, and pleasant. Ahmed and I can talk about anything and he even cares to ask what service I am getting done with my car. He assures me that everything will be taken care of. Instead of just driving me around with silence, he shows compassion and talks to me. I am sure every person that meets him has only great things to say of him! Thank you Ahmed for putting a smile on my face and being apart of the Pickering VW family. Went to purchase a tiguan. Paid a deposit to purchase one. I was told to that I can only put 3000 down only no more than that. That was after I put a deposit. Before I put a deposit it was agreed that I CAN put 5000 down. That was our agreement!
When it came to the other sales person in financing. I was told that I may get the the 5000 down only of I buy the full warranty their best all inclusive. But I had to pay a $200 deductible whenever something needed to be covered on the warranty. I said no to the warranty and I was told I cannot put no more than 3000 on the car. That way I would have a longer finance period on their. 6.99 financing. I was then as ked to make up my mind right then and there after receiving this new info. The finance agent said earlier that he had some else shortly before me. I then needed evaluate and told him to deal with that person first as I had to evaluate if Thais can work. He then changed his tone and became defensive and started talking aggressively back. I couldn't believe the attitude. I left and spoke with the sales agent again and he was unable to say or do anything. I asked him about speaking with the manager, who was in the office just before I spoke with the finance person. They were setting up the sale before I got in there so I know he was aware. All in all I have bought many cars before in dealerships and used cars. I do not want to name names as the sales agents are not at fault. The manager ignored me and it seems that finance person runs the show. Thats how he makes his money so if you don't buy the extra warranty later for you. In the end I went to another place bought same car less km same year 500 less and I was told I can put anything down and I am not pressured or have to buy a warranty with a $200 deductible. This dealership is very aware what happened including the manager. Be carefull of this dealership in Pickering volkswagen. I didn't even recieve a phone call if I wanted my money back.

Broke the key for my locking wheel nuts. Spoke to Chris who told me to bring the car in and he would remove and replace them free of charge. While there, Ahmed noticed rust on my car, took down the VIN and advised me that VW Canada will contact me regarding rust repair under warranty. All this for a 9 year old car.
Can't ask for better service than that!

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service I received from service manager James Gill at Pickering Volkswagon. I service my car, (a 2017 Jetta) at all required intervals and upkeep it well.

Mr. Gill and his service team claimed my emergency brake was seized and I required $1600 in repairs. I had no warning lights or notifications on my car and have zero difficulty driving my car. Mr. Gill raised his voice and was extremely rude over the phone when I requested he to contact the previous Volkswagen service center I used for service, to see how something like this could be missed, resulting in $1600 in damage. When an itemized list of the parts that needed repairs and photographs of the damage were requested over the phone, Mr. Gill became defensive, rude and I was required wait for the documents when it came time to pick up the car. At this point I brought my husband with me to pick up the car. When asking questions connected our repairs, other staff members (mechanics), gave us contradicting and changing information to that communicated by Mr. Gill.

Until Mr. Gill receives appropriate customer service training he should not be working with customers. I have never been treated so poorly in any customer interaction, as I have been by Mr. Gill at Pickering Volkswagen.

This service center is untrustworthy, rude and I encourage you to go elsewhere.

I was looking at a 2013 Golf. Had an email from Tyler Cartier at 930 this morning saying the car was available and he had some spots still open today. I got back to him and said I was unable to come until 7pm tonight. I did not receive a reply back and I am assuming that this is because he was off the clock at 7pm.got to the dealership only to be told that the car was in the shop as it had rust and dings so we couldn't take it for a test drive. We drove 45 mins to test drive the car. Not happy with this experience at all!

My experience with Pickering VW is awful. Their service team is very ordinary. They seems to don't care about the customers. Took my passat for a service exactly on the appointment time, when I went in, they said they wouldn't take my car in for at least 45 minutes. Just rude service consultants and no respect for the customers. I will never take my car there again. Never again.

I bought a car from him and after two years when i needed some help with lease terms and vehicle he was there and happily assisted me throughout the process. Excellent straightforward guy. By far the best dealership ever! I brought my Jetta for service here after purchasing my vehicle from a different VW however it was really far. But i was greeted with a wonderful team at pickering VW and i was more than lucky and grateful to have Andrew assist me with my service appointment. He treated me like a friend instead of a customer. From the beginning to the end of my visit, Andrew was incredibly energetic and very polite and not to mention, very funny! He knows his cars and even showed me some cool features in my car even i had no idea about! Not to mention the cool photos he takes of your car!

I can see why this dealership is so busy because they have an excellent staff and they display excellent customer service. I will definitely be coming back here and i highly advise anyone to seek Andrew for help when visiting!

Pickering VW has been looking after my 2006 Jetta for almost 10 years now. The service is outstanding every time I take my car in. Service Advisor Kevin treats the customers with great attitude and always keeps you in the loop with regards to all your sevice needs. Parts Manager Shane does everything he can to make sure you get the best price for the parts required for your vehicle. The mechanical team really know their stuff and I would not allow anyone to work on my car except them. I just had major work done on my Jetta, Timing Belt and Camshaft follower / adjuster. All work completed perfectly. I would not trust anyone to touch my car other then these experts! Thank you for a great job!

Yes Great people there, but just a warning to all. My daughter bought a 2013 Jetta there, and serviced it there. When a problem occurred, she went there for service and for 7 times over 2-3 years, it got misdiagnosed every time. She spent a lot of money, but the real aggravation was having a nearly NEW VW, that continually broke down, with NO help from the Dealership. They even once had it for an entire week, without a solution. You might think that it was an unusual or complicated problem, but then I got my local corner mechanic to fix it, and he did it in a couple hours. He doesn’t have the equipment nor the training that VW has. He fixed it, when this dealership couldn’t. Something to think about.
Update (Sept2019) : the reply from the GM of the dealership wants me to call him and tell him how my mechanic fixed it, while his couldn’t. Why would I educate a dealership, when no mention of compensation? My daughter’s bank account already supported a million dollar business, without any mention of sympathy or compensation for wrong diagnosis’s.

I went into the dealership today and had to walk away from the car just because of the Finacial Manager Lester
Lester is like the shadiest man I ever saw in a dealership.
We had to wait hours to meet that dude and he taught he could boss around us just from our looks.
We walked out went straight to VW midtown and the financials manager helped us getting approved in less than 30 minutes.

VW midtown all the way Pickering dealership just is not worth your money

I had a great experience with Arqam. He is extremely polite, very patient with all my questions, and I really appreciated his friendly demeanor. He made a stressful experience much more pleasant! I would highly recommend Arqam to anyone who's looking for a new vehicle with VW.

I wanted to share my experience since I visited the showroom based on the customer reviews and it's true what they say it all depends on who you get.

I requested to see a brand specialist, upon meeting him I told him I knew what I was looking for and was looking to purchase something within a month as our lease was coming up. He was a bit standoffish from the beginning and wasn't getting a good vibe because typically reps.are engaged with good customer service but just didn't get the feeling even when i tried to engage him in a conversation to break the ice.

Perhaps I shouldn't have been forward with him and said I was looking for a good deal and shopping around and Pickering was my first choice since it was close to home. He said "no one beats our price" so I said then I don't need to shop around if you can give me a good price, I told him according to the MSRP it would be 303 bi-weekly, etc.he crunched some numbers and said he could do it for a $2 less but if we were to make a deal today he can re look at the numbers so I responded asking to tell me what that deal looks like and we can move forward, he didn't want to tell me anything until I agreed to sign today, the problem i had was how does one agree to anything without knowing the price.

I again said to him I'm serious about purchasing he didn't take me seriously and wanted me to agree to purchase before he can look at the numbers again. I wish there was a device recording our conversation.

At the end I thanked him for his time and he sat there with his arms folded. Probably upset wondering why we didn't sign.

This was a very unfortunate event, typically reps.are great to work with and the last time I was there with a family member to make a purchase we had a positive experience.this time however just seemed like the focus was only to meet a target.

I'm sure someone will respond back and apologize for what has happened, and say sorry they couldn't meet my needs.

I just wanted to share my negative experience in hopes that you will talk to your employees about going beyond making the sale, the sale would have happened have I had friendly, positive sales rep.

Visited PVW last Thursday with my wife, in response to an email 'Upgrade Event" invitation. Had the pleasure of dealing with Andrew Reid and Lester Fernandes. We were just looking to upgrade our current car to the new 2019 model. Andrew showed us the car and filled us in on all the new toys and features. Got us a nice price on our trade-in and a great deal on the new car. He even threw in some added extras we had not thought about to sweeten the deal. Andrew was friendly, courteous and patient. His service was thorough and second to none. We would definitely be recommending him to family and friends. Lester took care of the financial aspect of the purchase with utmost efficiency. He provided us with useful information and answered all our questions. We have been dealing with PVW since 2015 due to the friendly staff and overall no pressure environment of the dealership. We would like to thank Andrew and Lester for making our purchasing experience at PVW a pleasant one. You guys were great. Never Change.

The customer service here is horrible, I had a sales rep by the name of Andrew who treated me horrible once he made his sale. I had an issue with my payments (long story), instead of him going above and beyond to fix my issue he simply brushed me off and told me to handle it myself. His manager Michael who treated me very well rectified this issue for me. Also Andrew promised me a scratch pen which he also did not come through on, he ignored my phone calls and texts, once I finally got a hold of him he gave me a poor excuse that he has far too much customers to take on my "small" issue, even though I texted him over a week ago with no response. All in all I would have to say this was the worst experience I've had purchasing a vehicle.

Very happy with my recent experience and purchase. Everyone is super helpful and never rushed me into my decision. Even after the purchase they are all willing to help with any and all of my concerns. I recommend you go here to buy yourself a new VW!

Amazing buying experience.
I went in to look at a few vehicles and chatted with both Andrew and Michael. Both were super helpful and provided me with all the information I needed, both about the car and financing. When it came down to buying, Michael took his time to go through everything with me and get me an amazing price. I then dealt with Lester who went over the financing process in more detail.

I would highly recommended going to Pickering Volkswagen to make your purchase. The staff is amazing, I was treated so well, and I will definitely be going back for another vehicle in the future!

The staff were very friendly and professional. Tyler was truly a respectful sales person. He gave me space to make my decision without pressuring me. He treated me like a person, not just a sale. Though I probably will not do business with them again (cause I bought an awesome vehicle, and I live 1hr 1/2 away)
I would definitely encourage people to do business with Tyler.
Would also like to thank Michael for sharing his tattoo story.

Pickering Volkswagon is a very clean and professional dealership. I was looking for a specific truck and the team went above and beyond to find it. That's right I said truck. These guys are wizards they can pretty much get you into any vehicle you want. I picked up a VW sportwagon after trading in my GTI, Michael Jubran the manager and the sales rep was very professional and easy to talk to. Everything went smoothly. Couldn’t be happier with the vehicle or the services provided by VW Pickering.

Experience buying from and in-warranty service was all very good, but than we discovered their dark / service side. It began with a botched oil change, and then continued on with incompetent and overpriced repairs: i.e. They couldn't grapple with an out of warranty electronics issue, charging >$275 just to say they couldn't ID the problem, which was later fixed by another dealer for under a $100.and which was apparently a common issue. There are several other examples, but the service folk score zero stars on the trust and ability grid.
This is a criticism of this particular dealer, expressed by other VW owners, and even echoed by other VW dealers in GTA.

I have been dealing with Pickering VW dealer for the last 25+ years. I met Callaghan Brown recently and he had a very good knowledge on the product and his sincere service impressed me a lot. I would highly recommend Callaghan to be your personal dealer.

BEWARE of Pickering VW Sales! They negotiated and set a price over the phone with me. I re-confirmed the agreed price with them over the phone twice before going to their dealership to sign the deal. When we walked in, the sales guy went to talk to their GM. After
making us wait for 30 minutes, they told us that they cannot honour the price and offered a much higher price. Essentially, they wanted us to come in and sweet talk us into signing the deal.

Sadly, this was not the first time this has happened with Pickering VW. We had a similar experience in 2016 when we were looking for a Golf. This seems to be their strategy. Bad sales strategy.

Anyway, we walked out of the dealership and the next day we got the same car from another VW dealership for the exact price we initially negotiated with Pickering VW.

There are much better VW dealerships out there. This dealership is not worth wasting time.

I have always had a pleasant Service experience at Pickering VW. I own two VWs and have been servicing both exclusively here for 5 years. On one or more occasions they have taken me in with no appointment and had me on my way within a few hours (and drove me to and from my office while I waited).

I wouldn't take my VWs anywhere else.
