Pinelopi's Greek Kitchen

My adult daughter wanted Greek food tonight so we decided to try Pinelopis in Barrhaven once again. It has been many years.

We started with the bruschetta and it was amazing. The warm bread, tomatoes and balsamic drizzle was great.

I ordered the beef souvlaki and she ordered the chicken. It comes with roasted veggies, potatoes, rice and tzatziki. Chicken was well cooked and tender. The beef, medium rare, melted in my mouth.

Everything was wonderful. I should have took a picture before we ate as the plate was full.

We will definitely be back!

Highly recommend trying Pinelopi's. All is excellent. Not an inexpensive experience though. You certainly get what you pay for.

My siblings and our spouses, eight of us, went to Pinelopi's for supper to celebrate Birthdays.
We had drinks, apps; my wife and I also ordered a bottle of wine to hqve with our meals. The food was very good, ourvqaiter was friendly and good at his job.
However, we felt quite rushed as we were finishing- we ordered coffee and dessert and were told they needed our table for another group. The bill for my wife and I was a tad over $200 BEFORE tip- safe to say the total for our table was over $700; so to be hurried out didn't sit very well.

Great good and great service. Went with my cousins for my 30th and it was a delightful experience.
A table favourite was the deep fried goat cheese appetizer and the moussaka main dish.
Only thing we found underwhelming was the deep fried zucchini- it lacked crisp and colour but the aioli was tasty.
Would go again and highly recommend!

Absolutely love this restaurant.the food is beyond delicious (souvlaki and pastas), delicious wine, and the service is impeccable! We love dining in, but take out is also great!

Always a great experience here. The flaming Saganaki was fantastic. The service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is perfect! Loved the seafood ravioli and my wife had the gorganzola veal canaloni. Everything was delicious.

My husband's pasta dish with chicken and pancetta was delicious. My seafood ravioli was ok. The filling was good but the ravioli were quite thick and the saffron sauce was very strong. The service was excellent and the atmosphere lovely.

We ordered a moussaka for 8 for pick-up. Initially the price had me reconsidering. But on reflecting on the ingredients and amount of time to make (I've made it - it's almost an all-day affair) it was more than fair. In fact the tray for 8 actually fed 11, so the cost per square was reasonable. Pinelopi's were great to deal with and the order was ready on time. How was the moussaka? Absolute HEAVEN! Perfect flavours - loved every mouthful! Should have ordered two trays after all. Thanks to the chef from our home party!

Quaint restaurant in a plaza. The food and service was good, but pricy. The atmosphere was fine, but maybe some ambient music and some more space between tables would be nice for privacy purposes.

Are you gluten and dairy free but you love Greek food? This is your place. *Talk to your server. I had the best meal I've eaten in a while. So good!

Wow, where do I start? Every bite is an experience of a lifetime. Absolutely beautiful food that will blow your mind away.

Our group celebrated a friend's birthday, and everything was wonderful. The food was beautifully served and delicious. Even though every table was full, the atmosphere was quiet but fun. This is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion, or just treat yourself to a fantastic meal out.

Hands-down the best Greek food in the National Capital Region with excellent service. I can't think of a bad thing to say about this place.

Nice ambience yes, amazing food no! Mediocre at best and certainly not authentically Greek. Chose moussaka and souvlaki, both tasteless. Moussaka made mostly with potato and zucchini, so little lamb that one had to hunt for it, barely any sauce, no layering. Huge portion but still overpriced, will not be returning.

I came here after reading a review that this place was good as Greektown in Toronto and sadly, it's not. And when is there risotto and ravioli in a Greek menu? We had the Moussaka and Pork souvlaki and was meh.

When you walk in here you feel like family! If anyone doesn’t like this place I honestly don’t think you could find better in the area! My group and myself really enjoyed our time here, and expectations were met! Especially the serving staff!

What a great find! It’s hard to find a really nice meal in suburbia that isn’t fast food or mediocre franchises. This restaurant has an amazing menu, absolutely fresh and delicious food, excellent service, and a great wine list. Prices are reasonable. High quality all around. My only disappointment? That I didn’t order dessert! It looked amazing as we saw it being served as we were leaving. Next time! We will be back.

We decided to give Pinelopi's a try for Fathers Day. After living in Barrhaven for about 3 years, restaurants in the area tend to disappoint. This however, was a massive and pleasant surprise. I grew up East York Toronto, off Danforth (Greek town), and Pinelopi's have those restaurants beat. Meze's were fantastic, we went for saganaki, goat cheese, and spanakopita. The spanakopita was I think, the best I've ever had. Main dishes were great, my lamb was fresh with no game taste. As for the cocktails, they took a little time, but I would highly recommend. I will bring my family here again and again!

May 5,2023. Our first and will NOT be our last visit to this 5 Star restaurant. We learned all about the food preparation (home made and assembled) and family members. Pinelopi and her son took care of us and other staff as well. It is a small restaurant, so make a reservation folks. Important points for consumers:
1) Excellent food; abundance, tasty, well plated - the spices, wow. Very good value for the price paid.
2) This is a family owned business, the businesses we need to support, not the big chains.
3) They make most everything from scratch, this shows in the food. The appetizer SPANAKOPITA was perfect; the phylo, the spinach and flavors, OMG. We had the beef and pork loin SOUVLAKI - so tasty, so perfectly cooked and the taste, so great. Lots to take home if you want!
4) Great staff. We felt we were in the family, everyone took care of us - it is their passion and it shows.
I travel much, but rare have I had the pleasure of a real feeling of family. The restaurant was almost full at 6 pm, people were happy and it was respectful and quietful as everyone enjoyed their space but not intruding on others.
A really 5 * experience.

Excellent meal and amazing service! Highly recommend. Everything tasted excellent and we were very impressed with the variety available on the menu.

The service was superb The food was expensive but delicious Portions could have been a little more but even then definitely worth the way to go

Perfect restaurant! Food was outstanding, l loved the lamb moussaka! Great service, very nice cozy very well run restaurant. Definitely will return.
