Pizza on Earth is a hidden gem in Dorset. It's a family owned restaurant opened during the summer months only. The quality of ingredients is top-notch, and the wood fire oven makes thin crust crunchy just to the right level.
We tried cheese pizza and Ravin' Lake. Cheese pizza is average taste, but Ravin' Lake definitely hit the spot. A must try if you are in the area.
There is also an art gallery right behind the restaurant with some cool paintings.
the owner/Graham responded to my review, or none review AND I appreciate that! He gave a thorough explanation on how their business runs and as I have previously mentioned, it wasnt their fault that I wasnt able to get a taste of their food. Maybe some other time I would - as I have an invitation under my name
As per his request, he wished I would take down my previous review BUT instead, I think I can do something better. Because he was kind enough to walk me through the process, that is something I really value from a business owner to a customer, I walked back to edit this review into something more meaningful.
More power to PIZZA ON EARTH and I hope we can share a slice or 2 in the future!

Honestly, I wanted to say its good but I never had the chance to eat there because the waiting time is around 40 minutes. Not really their fault.
Great pizza! The service is friendly and they have a neat art gallery you can look around while your food is being made. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Dorset.
We visited for the first time today on the recommendation of a person working at the Dorset scenic tower.
We ordered the Lake of Baysil pizza. A wonderfully thin crusted pizza cooked in a wood fire oven, covered in pesto, mozzarella, goat cheese, chicken, roasted red peppers and red onions.
The pizza crust held up and was not flimsy at all. You could taste the fire. The ingredient ratio was perfect! Each bite gave a little of everything. My only regret is that we didn’t order one each, as they were so good!
Dorset is so lucky to have this family pizzeria. The ingredients are high quality, the staff are good hearted, and the pizza is phenomenal. Five stars!
This place is always busy. It is best to order ahead and set a time for pick up. Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff. If you are in the area, this is a must.
We were surprised to find such high quality pizza in Dorset; it was delicious! We got the Margherita and it was super fresh. The dough was amazing. Staff is friendly. They also have a new cafe / bagel shop in the same building. The bagels are fresh and doughy. We got a smoothie too that was good. They only have outdoor seating. Plenty of parking available.
Pizza on Earth is a great place to enjoy amazing pizzas made in a wood-fired oven. The crust is crispy and the toppings are generous. The serving size is also good for sharing or satisfying your appetite. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves pizza.
We had their pizza for the first time and it was really good. They use wood fire so you will get a bit smoky flavours. They use fresh dough as well. They only have one size pizza. Well it's enough for two. They also have various bread. They have outdoor sitting and ample of parking. You can order ahead and do take away as well. We were so amazed to have wonderful pizza that to be in Dorset! If iam here again I will try bagels as well. It's must try pizza place! Highly recommended!
Great pizza, that reheated nicely the next day. Lovely location and staff, great pizza selection, offering local craft beers. Only downside is there not open later. Yet. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
Excellent food at Pizza on Earth! Our favourite was the carnavron, fire tower. Elizabeth has paintings in the art gallery that are beautiful - we picked up some post cards as souvenirs!
Very yummy and, superb quality for pizza that isn’t in the city. Great place to stop on a road trip and pizza only took 10 minutes from the time we ordered. Great spacious patio, friendly staff and a cute art gallery.
I had a bad experiance in a place I went to before when ordering Wood Fire Pizza. Though this place changed my perspective and mind of how pizza cooked is wood fire should be. I ordered the Big Winner Which is there Peporoni pizza. The pizza is absolutely delicious the cheese and the peporoni are cooked just right and complement each other while tasting truly delicious. Next time I am near Muskoka and close to the Dorset tower I will surely return again. The customer service is truly friendly and the owners are truly kind.
Staff and/or owners are really courteous and engaged.
Crust is really well done, crisp and chewy at the same time, with a great taste to it. The problem with wood fire in my experience is that the crust (top and bottom) seems to burn before the pizza is truly done so the pizza has to be pulled out prematurely; no exception here. The perimeter crust ends up perfect but the dough that the toppings sit on ends up soupy and floppy even though it's paper thin. Also the cheese and pepperoni don't crisp up like it should and the more toppings that go on the worse it gets.
My main reason for 4 star instead of 5 is the pepperoni. Maybe another brand of pepperoni is needed, but it tastes like it was put on after the pizza was pulled from the oven, it doesn't crisp up at all, and the flavour is not on par with the rest of the pie. It might come back to what I mentioned earlier, the wood fire by nature simply isn't cooking the pepperoni (and other toppings) enough.
I would really love to see this place work out the science because it's close to being great. Maybe it needs to go into a conventional oven for a bit first then transfer to wood fire oven, I don't know, but there's an answer certainly, and I hope the owners seek it out. What I would try is putting the pizza first under a broiler with the perimeter crust protected from the heat with a guard, then pull out and do the actual cook in the wood oven. If it works, I want some royalties! If you can get a proper crisp on some newly sourced pepperoni and some char on the cheese, watch your sales fly.
Thanks for bringing quality pizza to the area though, and for running a friendly operation. Just fine tune things please, keep getting better!
Really cozy place with fresh pizzas. Many ingredients grown on the property in a garden. The owner is also an artist and has a a beautiful art gallery attached to the pizzeria.
Best wood fired pizza we have had! So yummy! Great service! One of the cooks brought out tiny little pizzas for our kids stuffed animals never seen anything like it! Would 10/10 recommend and return!
The best pizza for miles around. FYI, It's best to call ahead on a long weekend because they will definitely be busy. They also sell beer and drinks for their patio. A must visit in Dorset!
Called and they told us it would be ready for 730, although we placed a big order and it was a little late, they apologized and gave us free drink to compensate! Great service, amazing staff and delicious food! Thanks!
A real gem nestled in the heart of Muskoka. The staff are always friendly and accomodating. The service is fast and efficient, and the pizza itself is absolutely delicious! Be sure to grab a frosty cold Dad's root beer in a bottle to enjoy with your pie. After a long morning of hiking or fishing, Pizza On Earth is always on our radar.
Very cool place. We had the Lake of Baysil and the Snowball and both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is nice, and you get to see their pizza oven and sit next to the garden. Amazing experience, great food! 11/10 would dine again!
Delicious wood fired Pizza with Organic Natural ingredients. Do come and try out the best pizzas in Muskoka. Wonderful people serving best pizzas. Cheers.
A Heaven, on middle of nowhere! The chef's got good hands on serving wood fire pizza. The best thing of this place is they have a small planted garden which brings the fresh seasonal toppings right into your taste buds! Highly Recommend to stop for Pizza fans.
A gem of the Lake of Bays/Dorset region. The pizza has incredibly fresh ingredients and baked to perfection. Friendly staff and timely service. A must while you’re at the cottage!
