Lovely, intimate spot in Roncy. It’s been on my list of places to visit for a while and I’m glad I finally did! Went a little later in the evening at 8pm so there was no wait; we ordered the pizza (the one that won a prize.) and the short rib rigatoni pasta with two glasses of red.
Taste was great- loved the pizza dough. Pasta tasted fresh. Nothing to complain about here!

Super bussin pizzas, I love a thin crust and a little well done and this was perfect. Great quality pizza, gotta be up there with some of the best spots in the city

I love this place. Pizza's taste was delicious, also the service was very efficient and everyone very nice. We dinner outside, but the atmosphere and music make you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend to try their pizzas!

BEST. GLUTEN-FREE. PIZZA. FULL STOP.if you love pizza but can’t eat gluten this place will knock your socks off. The GF dough doesn’t transport so well so dine in is best. I have never had a better GF pizza than this. Thank you Pizzeria Defina!

Always a great experience! One of our favourite local Italian spots in Toronto! The pizzas were delicious as always. We tried the steak this time and it was served with asparagus and roasted baby potatoes. There was two dipping sauces as well. So so good and savoury! The rigatoni was on point as always. We had the arancini as well. Everything was great as always! We loved the addition of the silent movie projected onto the wall. On busy days, get there early as there are no reservations and seating is on first come, first serve basis.

Was there on a Wednesday and Yvan toolk care of us! I am from Mtl and the others from. TO. Loved the backyard patio!

Pizza was amazing had the roncy highly recommended. Great staff and service, will definitely be back.

Tried the 2013 Pizza Expo Best Traditional Pizza; International Region and the #504 and both were fantastic! The nduja sausage on the 'Best' is definitely worth trying.

Went here for a private party in the party room above the restaurant and the food was great! Had a set menu that was pre-planned by one of the organizers of the party - we had: Caesar salad, green beans, brussel sprouts and a charcuterie board to start and then 2 different pizzas.

Delicious place as always. Always coming back for pizza. First time we tried appetizer I stead of just pizza and they did not disappoint at all.

I had the Slow Braised Short Rib Rigatoni and had some of their pizza too. Food was absolutely delicious and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food.

We’ve tried to love this place but it is inconsistent at best. Do not order takeout. They seriously over state the readiness time which leads to ice cold food and wilted ‘fresh’ ingredients. High potential to be excellent but much better management needed.

Unfortunately the staff was incredibly unwelcoming when we arrived and made no effort to seat us. They also refused to clean our table in a timely manner and were not interested in taking our drink order. They essentially failed or were unwilling to communicate with us in a professional manner. We had no choice but to leave. I would not recommend this place and will continue to spread the word where I can. Even one star is too much.

Además de las pizzas en horno de leña, un excelente menú con variedad de vegetales. A veces fish & chips es aburrido. Así que pedí Grilled rainbow trout y una delicia! Suculento! Y el personal muy amable.

This was my first time at Pizzaria Defina and it def won’t be my last. I’m just going to say it… it’s better than my previously undefeated pizza joint in Toronto. I have a gluten intolerance along with a long list of allergies and they catered to my needs no problem. The caprese salad and wood oven gluten free pizza is to die for!

The food is delicious and the service is very good. I like this place because they use quality ingredients for the food, they serve enough and the presentation of the dishes is careful. I recommend the pizzas, any one will make you feel in Italy.

My favourite place in the entire west end! The best pizzas in the world, super cool staff and Dom is the best host I have ever seen. Try their veggie sides as well!

Went for some appetizers and looking to go back one day for the mains. Wild boar meatballs were delicious and the romaine salad was great.

Pizza Defina is a gem of a Roncy hangout. We got there a bit earlier to have our group of eight enjoy pizza, pasta and some octopus/calamari. Staff were super friendly and there is a nice vibe. Back patio also available when we visited.

We've combined this with outings to High Park, which is a short ~10 min west of the restaurant.

This place is one of those gems you should take your relatives when the fly in from out of town to show them how good the food is in Toronto

One of the best restaurants in the city. My fiancé and I come here very often and love all of their food, wines, staff. I have yet to find a better Pizza also. All of the staff Are friendly and helpful and truly make you feel like a part of the family! We were lucky enough to celebrate our engagement party here in the event space upstairs which was also fantastic!

Neighborhood staple with strong and tight standard offerings. Felt cheated on with the "wild" mushrooms, but overall still a pleasant food experience.

Winner pizza is a great entry into their lineup, showcasing the sauce and crust.

Standout is their steak, grilled perfectly, great portion size, good mash and accompanyments.

Mushroom is a skip - not sure why I pictured something other than soggy, wet and slippery king oyster mushrooms. It sounded good and still flavourful, but not exactly the description it offered.

Great food! Excellent service the atmosphere was lovely. Will say it’s a little pricey but again, good food and great service. They are also gluten free friendly and they’d gf pizza crust was amazing!

Good pizza, quality ingredients, lots of flavor. Unfortunately it was charred black on most of the pizza and we had to eat charcoal.

I ordered Mushroom pizza and added additional toppings. Prosciutto n bell peppers.
Dough was tasty but for sure u need to use cutlery, otherwise everything is felling down.
Steak was tasty too.
Servis of waitresses was incredible. Super friendly n paid attention to details.

Hot chilli pizza is awesome. Great atmosphere, service, and food. My go to Napoli style pizzeria in Toronto.

Their restaurant is very poor. There are many simple things they could do to make patrons feel and be safe.like plexiglass on back of couch-like seating. The owners are gaming the system and doing the least possible but claiming within the law. If i were you i would reconsider a restaurant choice. The pizza is ok.

Best mushroom pizza I've had. Hands down. Good variety of mushrooms not just the basic and perfect execution. Service here is fantastic and the wine list is small but really well selected. Grilled octopus was delicious, really tender. I was surprised by this spot, definitely punches above its weight class for the standard Italian fare in the neighborhood and for the same or less of a price point. My partner and I had an excellent date here and it's definitely a new go to for take out when I'm by myself. Family sitting next to us with 3 kids loving the pizza and parents having a romantic dinner for 2 at the same table. What more could you want!

Amazing gluten free options! Pizza and dessert wise.
Also love the non pizza items for those strange occasions when you don't want pizza.

Best pizza I've ever had! Sat on the back patio which is a nice little spot. Our server was great and made us some mojitos even though they weren't normally on the menu. Had the cypress salad and two pizzas, one had chorizo, olives, onions and sweety drops and the other had wild boar and mushrooms I believe (may be missing a few ingredients there). I've never had Napoletana style pizza and was blown away by the flavour that Pizzeria Defina delivered! As we were paying we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and both our birthdays and our server brought us a free chocolate torte. My husband was in heaven. Definitely suggest checking this place out!

This is my favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood. I have patroned this place too many times to count and have never been disappointed. The food and service are consistently good. Their pizzas and veggie sides are delicious.

As close to Nepal pizza that I have ever tasted. The server made us mojitos even though they were not on the menu. The outdoor atmosphere is very nice. Enjoyed by all.

My spouse and I have been going to Defina for a while now. We usually visit on sentimental dates and the employees are always polite and friendly, they remember us when we walk in and make our visit very enjoyable.
On our last visit for take out we were celebrating the arrival of our new baby. My husband picked up our order and told them of our news. When he got home we opened our bag to see they wrote our families names on our take our containers with “congratulations! ” They were so kind and generous to us it made me emotional. Something like this is so simple but speaks volumes to the care they have for their customers and community. Thank you again for your generosity and we will see you again soon.

An amazing place for a date. Great food, great back alley patio, great staff & a wonderful environment. Closed down the restaurant & accidentally stayed a bit late, they didn't rush us or complain. Will always be back!

Excellent Pizza. Was in a bit of a rush while walking around the area, so grabbed two frozen pizzas and they were soo good. Will definitely be back to try out more food on the menu.

Absolutely exceptional pizza. A lot of care and effort went into this. You'd never think you're in Toronto - actually Toronto doesn't even deserve this pizza.

One of our favorite place for pizza. The prosciutto one (pizza) with their spicy oil is perfect. Never been disappointed. Also good to help a bit those guys during this awful time.

Tired of the commercial style pizza? Defina will make you forget about it. The ingredients, the cooking, the recipes, everything is so well thought out and executed. Their customer service skills are superb. Some employees speak Spanish too! The place has a hip yet with a cozy decoration. Loved this place.

Pizzeria Defina is my new favorite pizza spot in the city. We had the Spanish Coca and their "2013 Pizza Expo Best Traditional Pizza" with wild boar meatballs to start. Everything was very flavorful and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. It's a small quaint spot. Expect to wait but it's well worth it to do so.

No wonder why this place is so popular! Excellent pizza, special mention for the peas as a starter, great wines including some organic and biodynamic ones, good service and all that for decent prices. Music from the 90s. Will definitely go back!

My family regulars this place. When we get back from a vacation in Italy, we still want to go here within a few days. Competes with any pizza place in Toronto.

I love me a pizza with potato on it! They nailed it, great spot. Not a very big restaurant may have to wait to be seated at times. Veggie/ potato dishes pair very well with the pizzas. In my top 5 pizza places in the city. Well cooked with good ingredients been coming for years.

Pretty authentic pizza served with chili oil that made every bite perfection. We had a salad and a pizza each, pesto chicken, our favourite and the mushroom pizza. Service was great too, friendly and swift.

The oven baked bread was burned from underneath and not a quality pizza at all, Looking at their reviews i was surpise with their food

Best Napolitana pizza I have tried in Toronto so far. I have tried pizza in Naples and they are so close to the same quality. Service was good as well.

Very excellent.tried the wild mushroom pizza on a day wandering around Roncey Village. I should've come in years earlier.

My real rating is 4.5 but there's no 4.5 so 5 stars would have to do. I absolutely loved this place and I'm planning to come back with my friends again. We had the Roast Kachka and Pumba wood fired pizza. Absolutely amazing and I'm not saying this lightly. The service was also very excellent although the space is not the biggest but it works. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the kale pomegranate salad which was too tart and too sweet at the same time. It wasn't worth the money. But the pizza. Absolutely delicious

The pizza here is delicious! Authentic fire baked ovens and fresh tasty ingredients. There is a great option for everyone. We tried four of the pizzas, and started with the Quebec starter plate. The servers were very friendly and professional. They even gave us a free desert because of a pizza mixup, which they promptly fixed.

Went with some friends pizza and we were all amazed. Pizza was awesome, as were the apps and drinks. Really liked some of the house cocktails! Great cozy environment, great authentic wood oven pizza.

Everything here is amazing, every time I go, and I never cease to be blown away with how delicious, fresh, and balanced everything on the menu is. Just attended a private event at the upstairs space for the first time and it was phenomenally done as well - though I could've gone for another slice or two ;)

Green beans are fantastic. Also very reasonably priced cocktails especially on Tuesday. This spot is a neighborhood favourite for a reason. Be prepared for a short wait on the weekend.

The food here is amazing and they have very friendly staff! The ambiance is very nice and it's a great place to come with loved one's and share a meal together. I would highly recommend.

Went out with 2 others for pizza and we were all impressed. The pizza was amazing, as were the starters - which were almost meals in themselves. It's not too loud and it's also pretty well priced. Great service and a wonderful time overall!

Excellent and cozy place for Friday Night Pizza! Or any other meal on any other night. The pizza Diavola was delicious. And the all- important wine list is decent, focused mostly on Italian selections. No complaints with that.

If your after good pizza and a chill setting, this is the place. The pizza here is A+. Easily one of the best. I had the simple sausage and All I can say is that disappointment is not to be expected.

I called 40 minutes ago to order 3 pizzas and I'm still waiting for them, pizzas was for pick up. No explanation, they didn't even offered me a glass of water or to sit. I already paid for them, and the restaurant is no busy at all. After two years caming here I guess it's the time to change favorite pizza place. So disappointed! After 50 minutes finally. God job Defina.

The food was really good, but the service was over the top. The host/server made our delicious experience even more wonderful.

This place really should be good. It has a lot going for it, the vibe is good, the menu looks good, and the staff is friendly. However, it just is not great. The apps are crazy salty, not just normal, restaurant food is salty, but unbalanced burn your tongue salty. The pizza should be excellent, the oven is right, the dough is proper, and the topping combinations are well concieved, but it just never comes together. They seem to be rushing to get them out and the cook is uneven, sometimes it's nicely charred and other times it's under and flaccid. It so close to being good I keep hoping that next time it will be right, but it's not. Sadly, after this last visit I'm done. I won't go back, and my search for an excellent pizza continues.

Hands down the best pizza place in Toronto. I grew up in Italy and my wife was born there and for both of us if this pizza place was in our hometown it would have been still one of our favourites and that is a lot to say. Great ambiance, the pizzas are awesome. The only thing is that they do not take reservations, therefore be there really early (I've been in lineups of 2+ hours but fortunately there are several pubs nearby so you can have a drink while you wait since you can leave them your name). The quality is not on par on the weekends (Friday and Saturday) since it is packed, I recommend to go there during the week (Tuesday is one of the best days). Thin crust pizza is a must!

My favorite restaurant in the city. More than a pizzeria. Excellent Napoletana style pizzas, 3 kinds of charcuterie/cheese boards, delicious $10 cocktails, and a simple dinner menu make this one outstanding restaurant. Italian Menabrea beer is served here, and you can see the wood burning stove right at the back. Stellar place for gatherings or for two. Two kinds of hot sauce options (dry and oil.) Gotta go back and try the rest of the pizzas!

And then you realize that was the best pizza in the city, with the best service, and the best prices.

Go back. Try all the 'boards'. They switch them up every month. From cheese, to seafood, to award winning pizzas and absolutely killer chocolate flourless torte and pistachio ice cream, themed sales on days of the week. Something for everyone! The wait in line is worth it! (You can order a drink while you wait!)
