Plato's Closet St. Catharines

This place is a joke I would give them 0 stars if it would allow me. We've gone here twice and my boyfriend tried selling all his name brand clothing, they took 3 articles out of 2 full laundry baskets yet told us they were accepting men's clothing because they were in dier need of it. We bought stuff from their GTA location and he didn't fit them anymore so we brought them to niagara and they wouldn't accept them! Would never recommend this place unless you wanna bring your walmart and giant tiger clothes you'll be lucky if they even take that

I wouldn't say the staff are rude, but I would say they don't have great customer service. Really disrespectful, condescending. I've been selling and shopping here for years and I'll be taking my business to the Hamilton location, I've given this place too many chances.

If you want to shop, this store has a huge collection but if you want to sell clothes, do yourself a favor, drive to another location. Don't waste your time here. This location was so picky and cheap. Last time, waited more than 20 mins, they took 2 shirts and gave me $4.25. Ridiculous!

I’ve come to this store twice and each time i’ve had a horrible experience. The staff will speak poorly of the clothes and make fun of things people bring in, and not in a quiet manner either. I personally did not feel comfortable shopping or donating clothes as i’m going to be judged for what I bring or choose to buy. Further more, the staff was speaking poorly about another staff member behind their back and as a customer it really made me uncomfortable to hear. Lastly the selection is not the greatest, it can be rather expensive and they accept clothes with loose threads, stains and wear and tear yet will make you feel horrible about the clothes you return. IF you are looking for a plato’s closet the one in hamilton is worth the drive and the employees are so sweet.

I have tried a couple times to bring clothing to them. Each time I am told either that they’re out of style meanwhile they were just purchased a month ago, or that they don’t take “kid sizes” meanwhile they’re a woman’s small? I think they’re too picky there and need to learn how to communicate with people without putting people down about there size.

They only take great quality stuff to buy, but it’s good because their inventory reflects that

My daughter and I enjoy the store itself, but the staff are incredibly rude and inconsiderate. At this point it seems like it's a part of the job description.

I have tried twice now to sell my clothes to Plato’s and they won’t even look at it and “stop” taking stuff hours before they close. This is ridiculous and annoying. I have been selling clothes here for years and never had this problem until twice in one week I went two hours before close and they denied me to attempt to sell. The girl told me the first time they stop taking clothes an hour before they close to be able to process everything in the system which is understandable but today they stopped at 5 pm when they close at 9pm, which is ridiculous. You guys are losing so many customers because of this sell back system, it sucks. Stop wasting people’s time.

Twice i called ahead of time and told them what I was bringing and when I hauled a bin full of clothes shoes and purses, they said no to it all. Items with tags still on them. They weren't teens so they took nothing. Total waste of my time! One purse they said they would take, had a 80.00 tag still on it, never used, they offered me 2.15. Horrible place, rude people! You are better to sell your goods on market place!

A great place to find trendy styles at a much more affordable price. I am always able to find something to purchase there, and I love their music selections!

I love Plato’s Closet. Im always welcomed with a greeting and assisted when i need it. I have shopped there for a long time. Now my grandchildren shop at Platos as well. Great items at great prices. Walking advertisement. I highly recommend Plato’s Closet.

I rather buy used clothes at Plato’s for a little higher price than at a regular thrift store. Plato’s quality are way better.

They should really relocate to a bigger store. They have so much inventory yet so little space, I feel claustrophobic walking in there. In addition, they really don't have much selection for bigger sizes. Same clothes on the rack since May! Definitely not one of my favorite Platos.

Wouldn’t recommend this location. Everything in the store looks old and used. It’s also really stuffy and smells. You would think they wash the clothes before hanging them up, especially in a pandemic. I’m not sure how they accepted some
Of the merchandise. I wouldn’t have even donated them in that condition. Hopefully this business does well I didn’t see any shoppers in the store, mostly those selling. The property is on a perfect lot if they go out of business but won’t be cheap. I’ll keep my eyes posted on property listings

The staff was quite rude, remember that without customers bringing stuff in, you would go out of business! Treat people with respect and at least pretend you care.

Most employees at this location are super rude.my friend and I brought in a huge bag full of trendy clothing, all name brand stuff and they did not buy a single item. When walking through the isles of the store, there was so much outdated, beat up items. Super disappointed.

Plato’s Closet St. Catharines has been my go too store for years!
I love the variety of the items they sell and how I can always find in style items. I especially love that I’m thrifting so I’m making more sustainable and green choices whenever I shop at Plato’s. I’ve always been able to find exactly what I’m looking for when I shop there.
The staff are always so amazing and kind, they always go above and beyond! Especially with all the lockdowns and challenges the pandemic presented they were always there to make sure I am happy.
Plato’s will always be my first stop and my first suggestion when friends ask where to shop.

Been waiting outside for you guys to go through our clothes for 45 minutes now. How is this professional?

This Plato's Closet is as good as others I've been to. They have great clothes at amazing prices. Everything is clean and well maintained.

But they also have the most amazing staff and management. This store and its sister store, Once Upon A Child, are local small businesses that deserve as many customers as possible.

There's nothing better than finding a great place for clothes, run by really, really good human beings!
