Definitely won't take items to this location again. Major rip off offering low prices for unworn items they will sell more than they claim. Won't recommend to others.

Great place, have outfitted my kids with both new and used hockey gear (one is a goalie). They are always very helpful and stand behind the products. This is also the only place in Kitchener that we get our skates sharpened. Highly recommend, and it has lots of Kitchener Jr. Rangers gear.

Sold me skates to them with no issues. Treated me with respect. Lots good sporting goods and lots options.

Don't sharpen your skates at this kitchener location, they butchered them, couldn't stand up on ice, had to get redone elsewhere right away

I love shopping at this store because the staff are friendly, honest, and upfront. I have exchanged many of my children's skates here over the years, and I was so pleased with their service, quality and prices, that I recently purchased new skates for myself here. I have also purchased other sporting items here, including a punching bag for my husband. Friendly and helpful staff.

They buy used sports gear, but they do not respond to email even though there’s a contact form in their website.

Went in looking for some baseball gear and was not disappointed. Managed to get everything we needed at a great price. Would recommend this place to anyone who's kids are starting out. The ball glove was already broken in so it's actually a bonus to get it used.

Customer service was basically non existent during our visit to buy skates for our daughter, not for lack of trying.

We ended up finding what we needed but if you go in expecting help, this isn't the place.

Good store. Big variety of winter sporting equipment. Very busy place! Good prices! Definitely recommend you shop here before hitting an expensive box store! Bought a new helmet for more than 1/2 the price it would have been in sport check!

We’re in for a pair of Skates

“Oh, you need a pair of skates, ” confirmed the store manager. “I’ll have you speak with Ryan. ”

So, it was on that Wednesday, December 15th evening, this young very articulate personable 24 year old university student led us down the aisles of his proverbial wheelhouse of this Play It Again where he earns his keep. We had brought in some used outgrown hockey equipment in exchange for cash with the intention of putting the dosh towards some ‘play it again’ skates. After earnestly looking high and low a 4.5 CCMs the search yielded no results. “No, ” my son made very clear, “my foot is too wide for Bauers. ” That turn of events led us to Ryan. He too could not source a pair of CCMs and conceded that Bauers are generally suited for a narrower fit than a CCM.

It was at this point that we were treated to a veritable product presentation on the various CCM skate lines. To say Ryan is well versed in skates and hockey equipment would be an understatement. Time and time again his experience and knowledge, from his three years of gainful employment at this sports emporium, came to light. He truly is an adept customer sales representative as indicated by his breadth of expression and incredible depth of vocabulary he can draw from his hockey product lexicon convincing us all the while he knew what he was talking about as he waxed lyrical about both the strengths and limitations of a given product.

Showing just how adept he was in terms of discerning contrasts between skates, Ryan had the wherewithal language wise to clarify for us the differences between an entry level skate versus middle of the road and high performance ranges and what modal would best suit according to one’s level of frequency on the ice.

Ryan’s ability to distinguish between two lines of from the same brand demonstrated a mastery of oral skills we rarely see from someone so young. For example, he deftly summed up the contrast between Bauer Vapours slimmer shoulder pads as being geared for going around rivals while Bauer Supremes are mean for going through opponents.

To sum up, no matter the product Ryan’s descriptive discourse left us very impressed. I have no doubt you will be too.

The people who work here are very nice. I came in because I exchanged my old skates in and the skates I got in return broke shorty after. I went back to this store with the broken skates and they helped me so much. I'm going to keep coming back here for my skating equipment

Lots of staff who are friendly and helpful. Great inventory for children's sizes but little for adults during this visit. I managed to get the last pair of adult sized skates but there weren't any adult ski boots and not much selection in the way of skis. Lots of hockey equipment both new and used. Athletic wear and shoes. Most items are used but they do sell new items as well. You can sell on consignment at your price or you can do a trade credit. Lots of parking as the spacious store is located in an outdoor mall.

I'm currently sitting in the parking lot, my son and I went into this location looking for gloves and a helmet for myself. We spent about 10-15 minutes looking at gloves and helmets. NOT ONE person welcomed us to the store, offered us help or even acknowledged our presence. Meanwhile there was 1 other customer in the store, 1 lady sharpening skates and 5.5! Employees standing behind the counter drinking drinks and chatting. This is not the first time I have experienced a lack of customer service at this location. Will not be back.

I visited this store to purchase used hockey equipment for my son. I did not play hockey when I was a kid so am not familiar with how all the equipment should fit, but the staff here was helpful and attentive. She took us around the store to each of the sections of the equipment that he'd need and was patient with him as he tried everything, providing guidance on how each piece should fit so that he found the proper size. He's several weeks into his season and everything is comfortable and is working well.

Prices were very reasonable. You might be able to find equipment from private sellers online a little cheaper, but this is a one-stop shop where you can try on sizes if you're unsure of what you need.

If you don't have older siblings or friends to pass down used equipment, this is a great option, and I'd be happy to return here next year to trade in his equipment for the next size up.

Purchased new Men’s shoulder pads in early July, used for the first time in a contact situation and the cup snaps in half. To my disappointment the Supervisor at the store informed there was nothing he could do as is their policy after 30 days. He told me that he “doesn’t make them and their defect shouldn’t be there problem”. I found his tone demeaning and unnecessary - I’m quite aware that Play it Again doesn’t manufacture shoulder pads. He went further to tell me that broken shoulder pads are no different than a broken stick…again demeaning and making it seem like young players regularly break their shoulder pads in contact drills. As a solution he suggested I simply purchase a used pair for the time being - once again demeaning and not valuing the money already spent. I try to support smaller local businesses but this Play it Again has lost my support. I miss when businesses felt an obligation to stand behind the products they put on their shelves.

Our family was their clients for multiple years. They were not interested in the gear that we purchased from them (!) in summer 2020 and barely used.

However, easy returns were part of the deal in 2020

Really like this place. Not a great selection of equipment that I was looking for at the time (granted off season if there really is such a thing for golf these days). Lots of hockey, ice skating, skiing and snowboarding equipment.

Went pretty well, except very busy! Took some time to get fitted for skates and have them sharpened. The prices were good and I'm hoping my new skates are great!

They were great. They have it where you can call when you get there and tell them your skate size and they'll bring it out and you can try it on. It's only curbside pickup right now but they were very helpful. Got all I needed it short period of time.

I was helped today by a young man named Zack. He was super helpful and knowledgable about the new and used ski equipment I purchased. His customer service was fantastic. Thank you Play it again

Excellent customer service. They helped me find everything I needed, and were very upfront with my options regarding the price of the all the equipment I was looking for.

The customer service has been phenomenal - just tell the person what you need (even if it's a list of hockey equipment in my case) and they'll size and sort you out. I love being able to reuse the equipment that I buy and can later sell back, and to avoid buying new for kids hockey stuff that they'll soon outgrow

No one asked me if I needed help and selection was pretty low for snowboards. Review based on service.

Attempting to work with Play it Again Sport turned out to be extremely disappointing. After confirming a service could be completed before driving to Kitchener, I drove there to get turned away, now leaving me 24 hours to sort out the issue. I hate planning something to get screwed when you arrive. I hope this was the exception to their customer service norm, because they lost me as a customer.

I took my skates in that were hurting my feet. They gave me $20 for those and helped me find a pair that doesn't hurt my feet.

Quick & friendly service! With the help of their staff, I found a pair of used skates within 10 minutes.:)

The young guy that helped me pick out a full set of hockey equipment for myself was very helpful! Most of the equipment I purchased was used but in good condition. They even moulded my skates for me!

Whether we find what we’re looking for or not, we always leave Play It Again with a smile because the staff and management ALWAYS treat us fair and with respect.
Young or old, staff are well educated on product and empowered to make customers happy when able.

Friday night about a dozen customers in the store, one employee sharpening skates and the other employee at the cash on their phone. Inadequate staffing for Friday night. Very disappointed in the store.

Great Service! Knowledgeable Staff. Good variety of kids used skates, even got them sharpened. They honoured both our groupons which helped a lot when you are shopping for multiple children.

Have been going to this store for over 15 years. The manager Brad is always friendly and nice to catch up with. Today i was served by Zack. Had an amazing experience buying used skates for my son. He interacted amazing with him and really included him in the whole experience. Great job team. We'll be back.

Took two pairs of skates to be sharpened, only took about 15 mins. My son and I shopped around while we waited. They had a large selection of skis, boots, skates, hockey gear at great prices.
