Play with Clay-Cambridge

My darling son gave my husband and me a gift certificate which we utilized today. This was our first time doing anything like this and Cassie was so welcoming and helpful, it was an awesome experience. Neither of us is very artistic but they have lots of options that are suitable for beginners. It was a fun way to spend two and a half hours and we can't wait to pick up the finished products next week. Still have money left on the certificate and I already have plans for my next project!

Wonderful place to be away from stress and focus on pottery and painting. They offer workshops and training sessions for newbies. They have an option where you can make your own clay art and paint them, or buy one already in display and start painting. The whole process is so relieving and gives a sense of self-satisfaction.

I love this spot! The staff is super kind and they are very accommodating. I visit a few times a week to work on my pieces and it is a lovely atmosphere for a good price.

What a way to get hooked on pottery! I took my first round of the 7-class intro. The instructors are patient and friendly, they are generous with clay and wheel time in the intro class. I plan to take another round, I enjoyed it so much.

We had a fun experience with some friends here! It was busy and a bit hectic walking in but our group had reservations so we had the basement level for us. The pottery selections were more expensive than other locations but the workers were helpful and attentive! Our pottery was ready for pickup the following week and they turned out great.

Website and sign out front stated you could build with clay drop-in-session. Drove over 40 minutes to get there with my two year old. They called their on-call employee to come assist and they refused to come in because “they didn’t feel like it”. HUGE disappointment. Will not be returning. Crockadoodle has way more selection for items to paint. Terrible customer service.

Came here for my birthday last weekend with my partner (and have been here prior) and had a fantastic experience. The prices are more than fair, the atmosphere is amazing and all of the staff are beyond kind and helpful. I like that for the base price of the object you're painting you get unlimited time and paint. I also love that you get to create something you can take home and keep. I find it hard to think of fun date ideas besides just going out to eat, and this is definitely a fantastic choice!

The best place to go to paint/ make pottery! Had the best time today, truly a hidden gem in Cambridge! So many options to paint and so many colour options, staff is so helpful and you can tell they’re so passionate! Will be back!

If you want to spend time creating something beautiful here that you can actually take home, don't bother, it's a waste of time. They gave our pieces (that we worked on for hours) away to someone else. And then proceeded to blame us for it. They were so rude and were a great example of horrible customer service. After losing our items, they said they don't guarantee anything. So what's the point of going there and using their service? Please avoid this place, it's a waste of time and money.

I had a particularly unpleasant experience. After a lovely day here with a family, we returned a few weeks later to pick up our work. They gave away my piece to someone else and offered no apology. When I explained that I had driven here twice for over an hour, they said “well, why would you have come here in the first place? ” On requesting a refund, I was told that they don’t offer refunds or a guarantee that you’ll get your piece because they deal with hundreds of items. I’m both fascinated at the lack of customer service and lack of appreciation for someone who wants to offer patronage. And I left feeling like it was all my mistake. Very poor experience!

A huge thank you to the staff here for always being to friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I've been to Play w Clay a few times now, and I can't wait to go back! Such a fun experience and I love learning how to create different things with clay!

Great place to have a fun and relaxing time. I really enjoy painting there and all the clay pieces they have are sooo cute! Also the people working there are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place:)

Great place! They have so many options if you are looking to paint some pieces, from heart-shaped heart plates to big skulls, buda, turtles, unicorns. They also have a variety of sizes so you can paint small or big. Great costumer service, so helpful, can't wait to take the classes!

Amazing atmosphere, appealing to all ages.very accommodating, have been both times without appointment and been able to get in very promptly. Great options for painting as well!

Loved the whole experience. The moment we stepped in the shop we were welcome by big smiles and warm words. We went in to quickly check out the details and instead ended up spending hours. The ladies there were so patient and loving. Let us select our pottery without getting annoyed and then the selection of paints became fun yet they were so happy and then when we were painting out on the patio they'd come over and ask if we needed any more paint or help and weren't shy for asking for more paints. Ohhh a truly amazing experience. My 27 years kids also want to go there.

I meant to do this review a long time ago but this place was wonderful! I wanted a unique retirement gift so the shop showed me this platter and said I could have ppl sign in pencil. I took it back to the shop and they traced it all with paint and made this finished product. The gift was a hit and the work the girls did was phenomenal. Recommend 100%

Had the loveliest experience here this past weekend! We were welcomed by the sweetest employee who not only was a great help but also constantly came outside to check up on us. The patio is an amazing idea, I wish this could be a permanent thing for the summertime! This is such a great idea for people of ALL ages. Will be coming back again… Thank you for a lovely experience! ️

I haven't actually been here yet.i reached out over instagram and i just thought their customer service through messaging was so great, i will 100% be making some purchases in the future, can't wait for re-opening so i can take the pottery class!

Me and my daughter go there for date night and its always a really great experience the two lady's I delt with today were absolutely fantastic I can't say enough good about this place.

My daughter and I adore this place. The staff are incredible. The atmosphere is relaxing. Despite COVID, we still feel safe and socially distanced when here. We haven't created our own pottery yet but we've painted several pieces and we look forward to coming back to create and play with clay again and again!:)

Edit: It's 7 months later, and countless hours of joy have been had from spending time painting and creating here. I feel safer here than I ever will at Costco, Walmart or any grocery store (because of COVID). I'm really sad that we're going into another lockdown. I always miss my time at PWC the most. The staff are amazing and never fail to bring a smile to my face. You can still order take home kits though! They post the available pieces on Facebook and Instagram so check it out! Support local!

I first visited Play With Clay Guelph in 2012 or 2013, but moved to Cambridge in 2016 so was super excited when the Cambridge studio opened. Both studios are run by friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. The owners are some of the kindest people and often recognize my daughter and I as long-time patrons. We love bringing family and friends along for a fun group activity and our home is full of the many excellent creations we’ve made here.

The owner is an absolute angel! She is the most welcoming person ever, and is always making sure you’re comfortable and happy when you’re in her store. I would definitely recommend bringing your kiddos here or even a date day/night!
