Plaza Sushi

I don't know what happened to this place but it's not like it use to be.
There was only crispy bits in my rolls. Paid 20 dollars for 2 rolls that should of had salmon and tuna. It's was rice and crispy bits.
To top it off I had to try to get the waitresses attention for my bill because everyone working there sat down for lunch at 2pm. No one was working at 2. Wasn't asked if my food was ok, if I needed a refill or anything else. The whole restaurant staff went on break at the same time in the restaurant.

Update: not long ago, I formerly considered this the best restaurant in town. But in the last half year or so, there has been a precipitous decline in quality. Cold food that should be hot. Missing sauce for tempura. Sauce on things that shouldn't have it. Too much sweet sauce on various dishes. Tiny portions at huge prices. Something is off. While dine-in still has nice atmosphere the takeout experience is definitely below par.

We are so amazed at the food and the people who work here are super friendly and our server was sweet and wonderful thank you thank you thank you we will be back

Amazing sushi restaurant. Best spring rolls I’ve ever had. The cheesy wontons were delicious! Service was fast and the waitress was super attentive. We’ll definitely be back with the rest of the family.

Wonderful place with friendly staff and awesome food! Jay, the Manager and Chef, greeted us and made the food perfectly! Highly Recommend!

Excellent service and even better food. I have fish allergies and they are great about taking special care. I have never had any cross contamination issues there.

Great tasting fresh food. They genuinely know the sushi business! Service was hampered by inexperienced wait staff but I would overlook that in order to eat at Plaza Sushi again.

Honestly the best sushi around. Super fresh, good and flavourful. The sauces and presentation really set it apart from any other sushi restaurant I’ve been to, including ones in Toronto!

Best sushi around London and Surrounding area. Don’t go to an ‘all you can eat’ to have some sloppy made sushi with the wrong type of fish when you can actually have high quality made and presentable sushi at Plaza. The food is excellent here! Highly recommended!

Food was on point. Got the black garlic ramen with chicken which had tons of flavor. I think our servers names were Jasmine and Lucious, they were great!

Great atmosphere and wait times. We had the Spicy Seafood Udon Soup and couldn't talking about how good it was! They have good options if you're not feeling like sushi.

No menu given, while the server give menu to orher customer. The soup was not hot enough. There's so many boxes everywhere underneath the entrance displays and to the washroom.

I've ordered takeout from here several times and have always been with the maki rolls. Dined in for the first time and also really enjoyed it. The miso soup was excellent. Plaza sushi has become my favorite in the area.

Best spot in town for sushi.

We always get their platers. Not only is it delicious but they easily accommodate allergies.

We ordered cheese wonton, sizzling teriyaki plate and some rolls and they were all super delicious. They were friendly with great customer service and the vibe was modern but cozy. Will def come back!

I'm a frequent online ordered, but dined in recently. The food was great as expected. Ambiance was nice, good date atmosphere. The place was fairly quiet so we had attentive service.
I'm a fan of the entrées (the stir fried Udon being my favourite) but the unique sushi selection is great as well.

Gargantuan portion sizes (oops) and top-shelf quality. We had ramen and sushi not realizing the ramen bowl was the size of a truck tire. We made a valiant attempt to make it through all of our food but in the end had to pack it all up. Surprisingly low bill for two people ordering for four. Great selection, great people, high quality. Exactly the kind of place we need more of in town. Excellent job. I remember when you were just a little sushi place in a convenience store! Incredible.

Everything tastes good and looks good. Next time I’ll remember to take some photos of the food before they are gone lol. Highly recommended the miso black cod and crispy pork belly. It’s become my favorite fusion sushi restaurant in town (to be fair I’ve had Shiki and ozen Japanese many times).

I’m wasn’t a sushi guy - I’m a sushi guy. Plaza sushi is the dash in between. Plaza sushi is such good vibes and the food is unreal! A big city experience in our little city! Will be trying everything they have to offer!

Great quality, variety and service. This is not an all you can eat over reaching place. This is amazing a la carte dining with a warm friendly atmosphere. Been here every week since they opened and its as good now as then.

11 of us ate there Friday night. The presentation was near perfect. The food was beyond fantastic. Price was very reasonable.
The only improvement will happen when they get their liquor license which they’ve already applied for.
A definite 5 star restaurant.

A la carte sushi dinner with quality food.

This sushi restaurant offered many different things, some of which I have never heard of.

One great find was they offered Uni, sea urchin. What an experience, so delicious.

They were able to make almost any dish gluten free with the exception of a couple.

This is a must try with a large portion size for the price.

Hands down best sushi I've ever had from here to California. The unique sauces and detail to fresh ingredients are hands down exceptional. Try and beat them.

Some of the best sushi I've had in my life and for a very reasonable price. The food was incredible - plenty of firmiliar rolls but also a lot of unique and fun options. Everything from the miso soup, to the fanciest roll was delicious. I would recommend going with a small party because the presentation and care that goes into the sushi boards is amazing. Overall just a fantastic experience from a staff and chef team that obviously care a lot about the food and experience. Can't wait to go again

Unbelievably good sushi, not something you would expect out of St. Thomas. Has yet to disappoint

Very pleased that the owners set this place up after their success in a small location. Went for lunch and was really excited with their menu - not a typical sushi place offering - with some great items that I want to go back and try. Had the pork belly buns, assorted tempura, volcano roll and spicy tuna roll. Really great value for portion size. All the flavors satisfied what I was craving. Service was good, attentive and not pushy. They also seemed excited to serve the food which builds a great experience. Will certainly be back and hope they do well in their location.

Left speechless by today's amazing lunch at the new location of Plaza Sushi. My pictures do not do the food justice. The presentation was nothing short of artwork and the flavours were from another world. My wife and I loved the new location, they did a great job with the decor. Service was awesome. Great place for lunch with colleagues or a romantic date night with your significant other. Come check them out and say hi to the owners Andrew and Max.

We used to get the grab and go from the convenience store on Elm st.but today we went to their new brick and mortar restaurant on Talbot. Their amazing food creations combined with impeccable service and a beautifully designed restaurant has me wishing I could eat here everyday. What an amazing job they have done bringing such stunning food to St. Thomas! Can't wait to go back!

No a huge fan of sushi but I wanted to try out this new business. The food was excellent. This is what we ordered. Dynomite roll, Chicken teriyaki roll, California roll, Tnt roll
And Beef gyoza.

The food was a little late but only a minute or 2 and they were friendly. You pay at the variety store cash register and its only cash or debit fyi and they do charge you for using debit and they don't offer tap. To me not a big deal but figure I make everyone aware.

Will definitely be going back.

Mind blowing Sushi is artistically created from within this unassuming store! They have a compact and clean separate kitchen inside where you can watch Chef Min create your Sushi while you wait. So many choices but always the same result -Perfection

St. Thomas continues to grow, and as should the sushi options. There is now a fantastic new option for when you're in the mood for fresh and exotic sushi. Plaza sushi impressed and delighted on the very first order. Pleasant and effortless ordering over the phone, and rewarded with a perfectly timed take out tray of an array of chefs unique creations.

Tried three different vegetarian rolls and they were all excellent! Service was friendly and order was prepared fresh. Highly recommended.

Came in for the soft opening on Thursday without pre ordering and was helped right away. Even though he was very busy my order came up quickly. Was amazing sushi (shrimp, avocado cucumber and spicy crab rolls), and cant wait to try other things on the menu. Happy to have you in St Thomas!

Great addition to the growing list of locally owned restaurant in St. Thomas. Very friendly people and amazing sushi chefs. Great quality sushi and very delicious options. Seriously. If you like sushi AT ALL, get down to these folks’ place and order a feast. Amazing.

Litterally the best and freshest sushi I have had, chef is super accommodating since I hate avocado.

So good! We got salmon poke bowls as well and some salmon parade rolls and goyza, it was all delicious and the prices are super fair. Will 100% be coming back.

This sushi is so amazing. I’m still eating it as i’m writing this. Hahaha. The guys were really great trying to help me figure out what I wanted to get. Not a long wait considering how great this sushi is! Really happy with the price and experience. I would definitely recommend this sushi to anyone!

Just found out about Plaza Sushi today online and checked out their website immediately. I’ve been wanting really good sushi for many months now! But I will ONLY eat REALLY good sushi, because honestly it’s not even worth it otherwise.
I looked at the website, it says premium sushi, made to order, so I thought.this is my kind of sushi place, worth a try.
I ordered a ‘luxe’ party tray for the 2 of us.
I wasn’t sure where to go when I got to the plaza, I knew it was in the Shoppers Drug Mart plaza on first and elm. Then I saw the ‘sushi to go’ sign on the corner store and honestly I was a bit worried.
But let me tell you.my worries were completely unfounded!
The customer service was fantastic, the 2 young men behind the counter were very friendly and attentive. I asked them how long they had been making sushi and one said he just assists the chef who has made sushi for years!
When I was handed my platter I was further encouraged because I could tell it was VERY fresh and made just for me, not premade or even yet refrigerated.which makes for the very best sushi!
They were so thankful for my order and obvious enthusiasm to have a good quality sushi chef right in St. Thomas!
I couldn’t wait to get home and try it! And just as I’d hoped my dreams came true! Such a beautiful presentation and selection greeted my eyes and my tastebuds were blown away by the quality and perfect balance of flavours! There was so much sushi for such a great price I thought there might be leftovers.but alas! Haha that definitely didn’t happen!
I am so excited that Plaza Sushi has opened right here in St. Thomas! Now I won’t have to wait months and months to get fantastic sushi! I will be a regular customer for sure!

Amazing sushi and customer service! Called ahead and picked up within 20 minutes. So many awesome things to choose from. The green dragon roll was my absolute favourite! We're so lucky to have another great sushi place here in town. Will definitely be back!

First time trying today and it was so delicious! Prices are great too, and staff are extremely friendly! Will definitely be ordering again!

This sushi is amazing. We ordered ahead tonight and they were so busy it was a two hour wait (which they informed us of as soon as we called). Because we weren’t starving we didn’t mind waiting and put in our order. It was so worth the wait. I eat sushi a lot and this is probably my favourite sushi from St. Thomas and London. We got the Alaska roll, salmon avocado, dynamite and salmon salad roll. They were all to die for! I was disappointed when looking at the menu to see that they didn’t have the “classic red dragon” but instead had a similar roll (the salmon salad roll) - but after eating it- would much prefer their salmon salad roll! It was so freaking good. We were full after those 4 rolls- they were big and delicious! You will not regret getting this. And I’m sure so time goes they will get faster and the wait times will go down. But still worth it. We will be back!

Picked up sushi here on a whim tonight. Ordered the luxe platter. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious and they even stayed open late to complete my order. Really surprised how good this was especially out of a small store. Thanks again
