My initial phone call with them was pleasant. I made it clear that my main concern was not having my insurance record affected by a speeding charge. This was my 1st offense. I was hoping to have the case thrown out and expecting them to go to trial for me. I understood that if my case was not thrown out, I would face the full fine + demerit point deduction on my record. They assured me they would fight for my speeding charge and were prepared to go to trial. Every conversation after that changed after I paid them. During every phone call, I was encouraged to settle as it was unlikely I would get the charges thrown. I was surprised by the change in tone considering I had made it clear I wasn't interested in simply having my charges reduced; that would still be seen as a conviction on my insurance record. It would not make sense for me to pay them $450 to have a $300 fine reduced.

My paralegal, Edward Disenhouse, was terrible. He was condescending, interrupted me mid-sentence several times without apology, hung up the phone when I was mid-sentence several times, and gave unsatisfactory answers to my questions.

I asked him for a quote for an 11b and a rough timeline as to when I could receive a quote. I asked him if it would take several hours or days. He then said, "your court date isn't until xxx, you have so much time, I'm not giving you a timeline. " I also have a schedule and a busy life and didn't appreciate him disrespecting my time. He was also meant to call me at xxx time that day but did not. I had to call him 30 minutes later. Another time, I asked Edward if he could hold after picking up the phone. After 5 seconds (literally), he hung up the phone. I called again and he told me he doesn't hold for anyone.

Edward did not answer my questions. He throws legal jargon at me without addressing my concern. In regards to the 11b, he kept telling me that due to Covid, the courts were closed and my 2020 case was actually only delayed by 3 months not 2+ years. I asked him how he had gotten to the conclusion that my case was delayed 3 months on 3 different phone calls. Each time he didn't give me a clear answer. He would tell me that it depends on what system you're working off of and ramble. I asked other paralegals and not one told me the same thing. Edward was offended I asked other paralegals when he was the one who refused to answer my questions. He then said he refuses to file an 11b. He won't explain why and uses "I'm a paralegal" as his response. I've already called around to start the process of filing it with a more proficient paralegal.

Near the beginning of my case, I asked for my disclosure to be reviewed with me. I actually asked several times before they agreed to review it with me over a phone call. He read through it so quickly I couldn't catch a thing he said. When I asked him to slow down to the pace he was talking previously, he seemed annoyed. He said I could get a copy for $50 + HST instead.

There's also an extra charge for everything with POINTTS (it is in their contract). I called 5+ 5 star reviewed paralegals at random after I had already hired POINTTS as I was unhappy with the service I was receiving and realized that they charged a similar or cheaper rate but did not charge extra for the same items. At POINTTS, I was told after hiring them that I had to appear in court (altho no other paralegal requested this when I asked around). I was charged for disclosure records and charged for filing an 11b. The other paralegals I called all said that those items were not hard to do and were included in their rates. I hired POINTTS although they were a slight bit more expensive as I believed I would be receiving good service.

Edward is extremely aggressive, disrespectful and did not value my time. Every interaction I had with him left me frustrated. The few incidents in this post are only some of the negative interactions I had with Edward.

I was in a pretty bad accident and was charged a fine and 2 demerit points on my license. But thanks to them, they helped me get a lesser charge and I don't have demerit points on my license.

I have used Pointts several times over the years when needed and have always found their consultation, follow up and results to be better than expected. I recently called them on very short notice to represent me for an infraction and despite having only days to prepare they were able to successfully fight the charge and have it ultimately withdrawn by the Crown leaving me with no more infraction. While I hope I don't have to use them often, if I'm charged with any driving infraction in the future they will continue to be my first and only call.

I have had good experiences with Pointts in the past, on several occasions. Dating back many years. On one occasion I even got the free advice of not fighting the ticket since the odds were not good and it could possibly gotten worse if I fought it. Other Paralegals were more than willing to take my money in that case.
Edward Disenhouse was very good to deal with on my recent ticket and I am very happy with the results. The speeding ticket was I thought a little excessive and a good officer would have reduced it on the scene. I had sped up to pass a slow car before the 2nd lane ended and slowed right back down but I got a 4 demerit point ticket. Pointts got the ticket reduced so there are no demerit points and the fine is much reduced down to $60.
I couldn't have asked for a better result and as always I will continue to recommend Pointts.

I am writing on behalf of a family member (who was issued the court summons after her involvement in a traffic accident). English is not her first language and she did not initially grasp the potential seriousness of the summons. It's not a cheap service, but it was worth the money for me. Edward was very professional and was able to get the best possible outcome, also saving me from having to drive into the city (I live 4.5 hours away!). Would use them again, but hopefully won't have to:)
