Polka Dot PreSchool

Recently moved my girls over to this school for ease of commuting and to allow them to have a chance for change to progress in their growth and definitely has been one of the best decisions. Both my kids are growing and doing so well and the staff are the right fit they both needed. Thank you Karine for your patience and support while transitioning the girls into their new school.

2020- Our son was at a different daycare when he was an infant/toddler. We moved him to Polka Dot for preschool and have been very happy with the switch. The communcation has been excellent and we love getting the daily pictures and information from the SeeSaw app. The school takes COVID protocols very seriously and I feel very safe sending our son here. We also plan to send my daughter here once she is old enough.

*2023 update: My daughter has now been at Polka Dot for over a year and has been so well cared for. She comes home so happy and I never worry about her well-being. The teachers truly care for the children here. I can't imagine her attending daycare anywhere else. I continue to highly recommend this daycare.

My son is three year old and has been with Polka Dot for about 6 months. It has been a pleasant journey from the beginning.

During the past 6 months, my son has transitioned from Preschool A to B.   Karin and all the teachers in Preschool A and B show care and love which made the transition from home care to day care and different classrooms smooth without hiccups.

There is clear indication my son enjoys his time at Polka Dot.   On top of day to day activities, he is always excited about music class on Thursday.

We are glad we picked Polka Dot and grateful for all the staff for the care of my son.

I just wanted to thank everyone at Polka Dot Preschool. My daughter loves to go to school every morning and that’s because all of the teachers welcome her with a beautiful smile. I can feel the love and care they have for every child attending. The time you guys put in to keeping the kids active amazes me. You guys interact with the kids with respect and compassion. The lunch and snacks that are prepared look great and very nutritious. Thank you Karine, Ms Natasha, Ms Brittany and Ms Sasha.

My son has been in this daycare since September and he absolutely LOVES it! I can tell he's in good hands by the cleanliness of the facility and also how happy teachers look all the time! He's already learned English and made many friends. We are so happy with the program and will continue to send him throughout Kindergarten as well:)

My daughter attended Polka Dot Pre-School and she absolutely loved it from the beginning.

Ms. Sasha always gave her warm welcome and goodbye making my little one had good start and end of day.
Karine and other staffs including Ms. Brittany, and Ms. Hani are real professionals and outstanding at communicating and sharing any updates, and they are willing to work out the solution together with parents if there’s any concern or issue.

The class is always well organized and instructed with full of activities and foster the confidence.
They really care about well-beings of kids and always try to be conscious of hygiene, and meal looks delicious & well balanced diet.

We would send her back to JK at Polka Dot over public JK with the confidence that our little one will be taken care professionally.

Our daughter started Polka dot at almost 1 year old. Its hands down the best decision. I kept her there until she was ready for grade 1 (wished polka dot had higher grades) and she is truly ready for grade 1. Polka dot thought her how to handle herself independently and how to excel as a student.we are proud to say that Polka dot has done an incredible job with the kids. The hours are convenient for us and the best price in the area without compromising on the childcare. I think the kids are advanced in learning compared to public school. Polka dot has worked along with me in training our child and coached me on how to nurture her further. We have nothing but respect and admiration for the staff and the owner Karine. During covid they made our lives very easy when it came to taking care of our daughter.clean, organised and friendly environment. Took all the covid precautions so we didnt worry as much. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone at Polka dot, you all are truly and gifted in what you do and it shines onto our kids. We are grateful for all you have done for our child.this is our 2nd child that attended Polka dot, and the decision was easy after seeing the results with our first child.

Both of my kids now 6 and 3 have attended Polka Dot since they were toddlers. Teachers in toddler, preschool and Kindergarten are excellent. They are warm, attentive, passionate about childhood education. I truly feel that teachers have provided emotionally safe place for my children all these years despite challenges with the pandemic. Parents have felt the pandemic but my kids have flourished and grown, and I can only thank Karine and her dedication to safety and practice that promoted stability in running this school. My older child Theo have attended public school for JK and returned to Polka Dot for SK year. JK year was difficult in public school with school closures and virtual school. When he returned to Polka Dot for SK, his teachers really helped him learn to improve his reading, creative drawing and problem solving thru math and science really well. Weekly show and tell boosted his confidence, and teachers have catered learning to his strengths. I can write about every class room and how great it has been. I highly recommend Polka Dot as an exemplary place for our little humans!

After doing a lot of research and touring many childcare centres, I knew Polka Dot Preschool was the one almost as soon as I stepped foot into the school. Karine, the Director, was very welcoming and casual. Casual as in she spoke to us comfortably as if we were previous acquaintances, without trying to sell the school by appearing extra professional. I also cannot forget that Polka Dot was the only school that my daughter didn't want to leave when our tour was over. She waved goodbye to me when I asked if she wanted to stay!

With Karine, who you see is who she is. Her genuine love and care for the school reflects directly through her wonderful teachers and staff. My daughter spent time in both preschool rooms, and all of her teachers were amazing. They paid attention to each child and always tried their best to meet every child's needs, because they truly understand that every child is different. Just ask how long some of her staff has stayed with her and that is proof enough.

Our daughter was forced to stop attending Polka Dot because of Covid-19 and had she not already been registered to her home school to start in September, she would have been back as soon as their doors opened again. She still misses her teachers and Ms Vera's delicious food, and can't seem to forget the fun days at the school. Thank you for all the love, warmth, and care you provided us with. We hope to be able to see you all again soon once we are allowed to visit!

My children attended Polka Dot Preschool for a combined 4 years. They both went through the toddler and preschool programs. My children thoroughly enjoyed their time at Polka Dot and formed amazing connections with all the staff and kids. This daycare provides excellent care, programming and meals! The teachers are so caring, and are always willing to go the extra mile for the kids. As a parent, I highly recommend Polka Dot Preschool to parents looking for quality care for their children! My daughter attended polka dot preschool for about 3 years, she move from another daycare to here beacuse we moved, she adopted with the new place very quick, thanks to Miss Christina and Miss Angelica, her transition was very smooth. All teachers treat her with such love and care. From teaching her good manners, carfting, panting, singing to lots of daily funs, she enjoyed so much at polka dot school.we are so proud of her development and progression.special Ms. Vera's delicious meals, my daughter love so much. My son attended Polka Dot Preschool for about 1.5 years. He would have attended longer but had to stop due to the pandemic. He started at age 2 in Preschool A and had such a smooth transition after being home for two years. He instantly made a connection with his teachers Ms. Christina and Ms. Angelica and enjoyed going to school everyday. He also had such a positive experience once he moved up to Preschool B With Ms. Brittany and Ms. Hani. I can honestly say that the teachers and staff at Polka Dot sincerely care about the children. The children feel loved, safe, and happy. The outdoor space is amazing with lots for the kids to do. I had looked into over a dozen preschools and day cares before deciding on Polka Dot and I was completely happy with my decision. During this pandemic, my son still talks about “going back to Polka Dot Preschool when the big germs are gone”. I highly recommend this preschool. We will miss everyone at Polka Dot!

We had our son in the toddler program at Polka Dot for 5 months until we moved cities and had to switch our child care. Leaving Polka Dot was the hardest part about moving! Polka Dot is all around a wonderful environment for children from the meals, the staff, and the facility. Ms. Karine does a great job running her Centre, such as by always decorating the facility well ahead of the next holiday in a manner that captivates the children's attention and helps them learn. But most importantly our son was genuinely loved at Polka Dot. As he became a more verbal toddler, he would ask to see his teachers Ms. Natasa and Ms. Abby on the weekends and smile when he saw pictures or videos from daycare. When our son was recovering from an illness and wasn't eating well, his teachers were genuinely concerned and went above and beyond helping his appetite such as letting him eat longer or offering him lunch again later in the day. With 2 teachers for up to 10 kids this isn't easy! We also found out that our son's teachers have been working together in the same classroom for 3 years which speaks to a great environment for the teachers. I think this is an important consideration as a parent as you want to be sure your child is in full-time care with someone who is invested in their work and happy with their work environment. It is hard to land on a daycare for your young child and I would definitely recommend Polka Dot Preschool. Thank you guys for taking care of our son!

I moved my daughter from home daycare to Polka dot Pre school when she was 2.5 year old and she needed pretty much no transition. She adopted with the new place very quick and I also started noticing that she is learning a lot of good things such as cleaning up after playing with her toys. Eating healthy foods (she was a picky one!) and learning to socialize.
Beyond all these, I have the confidence that she is in safe and caring hands.

My daughter Emily is attending Polka Dot's toddler program for almost a year and both my wife and I are very pleased with our decision.

When Emily joined Polka Dot's toddler program we were concerned as she just met the threshold of being a toddler. Fortunately we have teachers like Ms. Natasha and Ms. Abby as they made the transition to Polka Dot very smooth. We often receive pictures and videos of activities that Emily participates. We see Emily with a bright smile having lots of fun. Over the months we have witnessed Emily's growth from a toddler that was wobbling to a toddler that is outgoing, sings along songs like Old Mac Donald and repeating words that other preschool students are saying. All the credit goes to such amazing teachers with Emily's growth.

During before and after school programs Emily interacts with other older students without a challenge. When I pick up Emily she likes to interact with teachers from other programs and I occasionally witness her greeting her teachers and classmates.

From our experience we highly recommend Polka Dot to other parents. We are very blessed to have found such wonderful teachers who genuinely love to play and interact with toddlers.

Miss Christina and Miss Angelica are the best teachers you could ever have for your child. We decided to put our daughter in daycare when she was 2 and half years old. Thanks to Miss Christina and Angelica her transition was very smooth. Every single morning my daughter was greeted with warm and welcoming hug. My daughter initially had trouble conversing in English but that didn’t stop Miss Christina having conversation with her. She made extra effort by asking us some of the words she heard from my daughter so that she can better respond to her the next day. She ensured my daughter ate her food and gave us tips on how we can improve her independent eating habits. My daughter looked forward going to her daycare every single day and kept saying how much she enjoys her day. We definitely recommend Polka Dot and it is the best daycare you can choose for your child.

From the very first time I visited PolkaDot PreSchool, I knew I would not regret pulling my daughter out of her then current daycare to PolkDot. It was worth the wait! Even before starting, I was impressed with Karine's professionalism, the facility's warmth and welcoming vibe and the amazing chef cooking up a storm of healthy food for the little ones.

My daughter is currently in the toddler program and will be moving up to the junior preschool in the next few weeks. The toddler room teachers are the most loving teachers I've ever come across. I was able to tell how passionate they are for the little ones from the very onset - from the pictures I receive to the reassurance they provide when I had a million questions to ask during the first month transitioning to PD. My daughter's personality really blossomed over the last few months. I'm especially impressed with her level of independence and mannerism at this young age. All credit goes to the teachers in the class.

We cannot wait to continue this positive experience as my daughter transitions to the new class.

Both my husband and I agreed that sending my little one to Polka Dot is the best decision ever. We cannot appreciate more with all the effort and love Ms. Natasha and Ms. Abby gave. I went to the school 3 times before my little one transferred to here, including one time grandparents came with me. Every time we were amazed by the beautiful decoration and warm and welcoming environment there. Karine did such a wonderful job of organizing the school, everything is very clean and neat. After joining the toddler program, I noticed my little one had made so much progress. Before I was very worried about transferring him to a new school, but he did so well. Everyday toddler program spend some time outside, and we see from the app that my little one enjoys the time there. Every Thursday, they also have music class. We really appreciate all the teachers and Karine on organizing such a wonderful school. We cannot appreciate more!

My son has been going to Polka Dot for about a year now and we have had such a marvelous experience thus far. The teachers treat him with such love and care. He is always learning new things and so eager to share everything with us when he comes home. We are so proud of his development and progression. Our daughter has been at Polka Dot in the Toddler Room for four months now and we are so pleased with the school and teachers. The facility is clean and bright, with cute seasonal decorations. We love getting pictures and videos through the Seesaw app so we can see how she’s doing! Our daughter has learned and developed so much in the months she’s been at Polka Dot. We’re so happy to see her excitement when she arrives every morning to play with the toys and see her friends and teachers, and when we pick her up she is always happily playing or sitting having a snack. The teachers are so caring and kind as well. We’re very glad we chose to send her to Polka Dot!

Polka Dot Preschool has been a home away from home for my son for almost three years and my daughter for the last 18 months. Prior to taking the kids there my wife and I researched local preschool facilities in the Thornhill area and found that Polka Dot Preschool was our number 1 choice. Our choice proved to be an excellent one.
Over the past several years Karine and her staff have done an excellent job looking after our precious children. Polka Dot is immaculately clean, the food is carefully prepared on site, and the staff are excellent caring people. ALL of the ladies working at the facility are excellent people who care about the well being of the kids that they are charged with caring for. Both kids also left better equipped to enter school socially developed and having developed reading and writing skills and having had the opportunity to speak French, participate in music and movement classes and attend events outside of the facility. The Risk Management at the facility is very good and the facility is secure and the location is very accessible yet not on a major road.
We would rate this facility as outstanding and recommend it to anyone looking for a safe clean and welcoming environment for their children to grow and develop while away from home and not yet in school.

Our son was attending Polka Dot for 3 years and that was the best time for him and for us. He loved his daycare so much and still does. We have made the best decision ever by choosing Polka Dot. We are so happy our son had chance to be around great, loving, caring, nurturing and fun teachers. He had improved in every developmental area and so ready for his journey in a "big school".

My daughter is going to Polka dot for couple of months now and I can not say enough good things abut this schools. Facility is very clean and bright, principal Ms Karine is very professional and managing her school very well. She is very easy to communicate and she runs the school very well. My daughter goes to pre-school B and she has two amazing teachers. Miss Hani and Miss Britheny are two wonderful souls with lots of patiance and kindness towards their students. I am going to register my second daughter to their waiting list for next year. I totally recommend this school.

Sending my daughter to Polka Dot Preschool was probably the best decision my husband and I have made for our daughter.

I think the most important thing that I had wanted for our daughter from daycare was that teachers would genuinely be caring, kind, and loving and Polka Dot meets that above and beyond.
I feel so blessed to have Ms. Abby and Ms. Natasha as my daughter's teachers- my daughter really enjoys going to Polka Dot and loves her teachers. She runs to them and hugs them when she gets there and sees them.
Being a first time mom, I had few reservations, but I feel so reassured that my daughter goes to Polka Dot. And her transition to attending full-time was smooth with teachers' guidance and care.

My child was attending Polka Dot for more than 4 years. There were a lot of changes over this period at the school. I would say Karine is an amazing manager facing serious challenges, and at the same time maintaining high standard and quality at the daycare. My child learned reading/writing and basic math and is fully prepared now for grade one.

Coming from abroad we were in the search of the perfect preschool. The minute I spoke with Karine on the phone I knew it! Roy was just turning three at the time and we were also expecting twins so we “had our hands full”, but The AMAZING staff at Polka Dot, made Roy’s transition period so smooth. Of course Tommy and Emma (the twins) joined the toddlers room the minute they turned 18 months. There are absolutely no words to express how happy we all are! The special care, the dedication, the patience.unbelievable!
Every single teacher is super professional, knowledgeable, experienced, and most of all loving & caring! We love the fact that all staff (including maintenance staff, administrators, the cook) EVERY single staff member is part of the PolkaDot PreSchool family! They know all kids by their names and always greeting everyone with a smile. Our kids spend most of their days there, and we’re so fortunate to have found Polka Dot Preschool. Not only are the kids excited to be going there every day, but also we, as parents, are worry free knowing they are in such good hands. Saying Polka Dot Preschool is amazing is an understatement! It’s phenomenal!
