Pond's Foto Source

In Guelph visiting family and needed same-day photos before I left. Staff were friendly and helpful, online order portal was user friendly and my photos were done amazingly fast. Recommend Ponds 100%.

I have been going to Ponds Camera/Foto Source since I was referred to them by a colleague over 30 years ago. I bought my first Pentax point and shoot camera there and every camera since, including my most recent Fujifilm product. Their developing is top notch, and staff is always friendly and most importantly very knowledgeable and willing to help and offer great advise. I have dealt with Mike since the beginning and Quinn has been awesome since he took the store over. So refreshing to see a local business that has been here for so long and that has become a fixture of Guelph's downtown core. Keep up the great work and thanks for making my decision on where to buy cameras and gear etc.an easy one!

Helpful, knowledgeable and lots of choices and options for photos into digital format, picture frames, foam core or hard board backings, etc. Really knew their stuff and there are not too many places around that can do what Pond's does for their customers.

Pond's, and the people who work there, are great. I go here to get my film developed, scanned and sometimes printed, and it's always done on time and with great care. I'm so glad this store exists. Keep film alive!

Staff at Pond's Foto Source provide exceptional customer service in helping with getting photos printed from an I phone and USB stick.they go out of their way in meeting a customer's request.

I took in over 1800 35mm slides for digitizing. Super quick turnaround and they did a fabulous job! Digitized slides were provided on both DVD's and on a USB drive. Would definitely recommend this service. I plan on taking my old Super 8 movies for digitizing next!

there is nothing I want more in the world than to be able to support ponds, but time and time again they have just left me disappointed.almost every time I have gone there for photo finishing services such as developing or scanning I have been left extremely disappointed with the results.from scans being covered in dust to not receiving rolls scanned at all, having incredible distortion on my scanned images and under exposed scans when I knew the image should be properly exposed.i’ve even had entire rolls ruined in the developing process and been sent back 36 frames of cloudy white images.i’ve gotten back razor sharp negatives from them, but then the scans they’ve taken from those negatives have been incredibly blurry and distorted.i’ve even had one of the workers tell me after complaining about dusty scans:

“yeah everyone hates our black and white scans”

it just seems as if they aren’t trying and it hurts me to say that since i loved supporting them and have spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars there.ive attaches several examples of scans ponds has done with various issues.
Scans from THE EXACT SAME CAMERA are razor sharp when done by other labs… so how is it possible ponds scans are so poor?

Looking back at scans and prints that ponds had done for my father over 15 years ago, they are beautiful, it saddens me to see what the quality is now.i hope they start to take more care in peoples images because it honestly hurts to put your heart into a roll of film and have it be ruined by bad scans.it’s worth the drive to toronto to go to a half decent lab that won’t ruin your precious photos.

Fast! Got two disposables done for me in two days. They look great, props for leaving out the ones that showed literally nothing. Would go here again for sure

Brought in a 9yr old disposable waterproof camera that I found from our honeymoon. Foto source got the film out of the camera and had it developed 2 days later. Great service!

Still a good place for expertise + equipment. And one of the only retailers of ThinkTank equipment! However, practices are getting a bit dated: no upload or email option for film scanning; "high res" scanning is only 2000x3000px; and output options are just CD or USB for the same price.

This has been absolutely one of the best retail experiences I have had in the last 10 years. Quinn and Mike are so knowledgeable, skilled, PATIENT and pleasant. They both really listened to what I was saying and asking. This resulted in them offering excellent advice in a manner I could understand and making very good suggestions regarding equipment for my specific photo needs, in relation to both my skill level and budget (both of these factors are very important). We are lucky to have this kind of knowledge, service and such a good selection of camera equipment in our community. As pleased as I am with my purchases, I am even more pleased with the service and assistance I received. Do yourself a favour and check this shop out.

Amazing customer service and quality products! I ordered some photo books and they turned out so amazing. It was also super quick. The program was easy to use and staff accommodated my special requests with ease. I will definitely be returning for future projects to support local at a great price and amazing experience.

I found the prices quite high, just went in for a camera bag. Left with almost a 200 dollar dent on my credit card.

By recommendation I found Pond’s and went in to get some pics printed, after trying other common places and being very frustrated with the quality.
The staff was very friendly and the prints came out excellent and on time for Christmas gifts.
This week I needed more pics printed and decided to try the online order with the home delivery. Less than 24hrs after placing the order, my prints were delivered, excellent quality and such fast turn around.
Needless to say I will only being going to Ponds from now on and will highly recommend this place to anyone who asks!

Couldn't be happier with the quality and service from Pond's Foto Source. I have been printing my photos here for a while and was happy to see they also do canvas printing when I needed a special piece printed last minute. They were able to fulfill the order in one day! It looked amazing and the recipients loved it. Also, their online portal for ordering works great, never had any issues. Can't recommend enough.

Ponds is a well kept store i went in the other day and the employees were so help full i delt with curtis and he listened and didn't pressure me into buying something that I didint need he helped me alot to find what I was looking for and actually needed for my camera

Well some people are so generous, the gentleman at the store was quiet friendly even though I was in a rush to get the digital photograph for some documents, this guy clicked my photograph, while uploading the picture in the computer. He clarified if I have picture which up less than 6 months old I can use it in my documentation.
I had one from his store which was around 2 months old.
This kind man didn't even charged a penny for his time and suggested me to use that only.

I created a photo book online for pick up in the store. The book came out wonderfully and was very pleased with the quality. The store is clean and organized and staff is friendly.

I was very surprised with the level of service I received. I ordered photos online and they were ready the next morning. When I spoke to the gentleman over the phone before picking up my photos he was very helpful. I received very good customer service and my engagement photos turned out better than expected! DO NOT GO THERE! The outcome was HORRIBLE and I’m very DISAPPOINTED with the photo quality. I went there to get a photo for the Permanent Resident Card because they advertise on their website but unfortunately they didn’t have any knowledge for the required guidelines (such as measurements and lighting) that IRCC has specified. Since the outcome looked terrible and didn’t look right, I expressed my concerns. However they just said “This should be fine. ” instead of taking my concern seriously and reviewing the IRCC requirements for how a PR photo should be. After contacting IRCC office, I found their photo “unacceptable” and I had to retake my PR photo. I tried my best to find a great photo studio and found one in Toronto where a photographer is fully aware of how a PR photo should look like. In addition, the photo studio in Toronto charged me less than $10 for amazing outcome while Foto Source Guelph charged me $20 for nothing (everything they did was wrong). So do NOT go there for a PR photo! Despite of how they advertise as in the attached photo, they have no idea what they are doing!

It was fantastic to find your shop in downtown Guelph. I had almost given up getting my films processed. The results were great!

So happy to have this little print shop close by! Online ordering is so convenient; my orders are often ready same day (if not, the next). Have gotten 4x6 prints to poster prints (3' x 4') and everything in between - quality is always amazing, and very reasonably priced.

Update: Unsure if the store is under new management, but I’ve been quite disappointed with the service (or lack there of) recently. I had prints done a few months ago and my black and white prints looked blue. I emailed the shop to inquire and no one got back to me. I waited a few weeks and emailed again, as I saw the email on their website had changed, and got a response asking me to bring in the prints (no apology) to see if they printed on the incorrect colour channel. I then advised that I had since tossed them out since I didn’t hear back and inquired if my order was still on file to confirm they were purchased. Never heard back. Will be switching to an online shop.

I am very happy with the quality of images printed at Pond's. I printed a few at Costco and they came out very dark. I lightened some of the images and kept some the same and ordered from Pond's and they were exactly as I editted them. (too light, but at least I know they are accurate) I received my images the next day. I will be using them again

I took in my Nikon D7000 to have the sensor cleaned. I was seeing spots on most of my photos and they were not caused by a dirty lense. Ponds did a great job in wet cleaning the sensor for a reasonable price although I had to leave the camera with them for two days.

Got some photos printed here, great service, the photos came out better than previous places I printed (I.e. Costco). Will be printing here again!

The young lady that helped me was very helpful and patient. My prints were ready within 2 hours. I will be back!

Supported this place for a really long time because it’s local and they did great prints. Unfortunately my last few visits were very disappointing. I asked why a few images came out blurry, and the owner just shrugged his shoulders and told me the wallet sized photos do that sometimes. No offer of reprint or how to fix it. Today I came to the store and the owner made no eye contact and just turned his back at the counter right in front of me and watched a movie on the wall as his employee was helping me with a transaction. Definitely didn’t feel warm or welcomed. I’m not sure if I will be returning.

I prefer to print and frame accomplishments and key memories. Great service and fair price for prints. Picture frames are expensive but they need to make a living too.

A good spot for all your photo needs. Getting prints is pretty easy, and they certainly know their stuff about more complex photography subjects.

Fantastic store and employees. Very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. People with actual personalities who know the area and actually care about photography. Parking is the only challenge in downtown Guelph, but it's well worth the trouble. I had passport photos done, printed pictures off a flash drive, asked questions about analog cameras and the printing process and was very pleased with every result and every response.

I once decided to see if the quality of photos that Foto Source produces was actually superior to other places, so I ordered 8 x 10 prints of the same picture from Foto Source and another location. The difference in quality was highly noticeable and now I'll only have my pictures printed here. They also have incredibly fast service and my prints are normally ready the next day.

This place was awesome for infant passport photo! Most places I called said it's too hard and we aren't equipped to do it or it takes to long and we don't want to take the photo. At Foto Source it took less than 5 mins to get a photo of him, but you need to make sure the baby's eyes are open. It was quick and painless and they were very easy going.

One of the only places left that develop film. I think my favorite thing about pond's is how fast they are with their service (I usually get my prints back in 2 days, max). I got coasters made from my pictures once and they did a really good job as well.staff are cool too.

I have had film developed several times at this store and have consistently received friendly and efficient customer service from staff members. My prints were high quality and I was impressed by the turnaround time, all at a very reasonable price. The store itself displays quite a large variety of camera accessories for all skill levels. Its downtown location is convenient, although parking spaces are few and far between.

The only place in the golden triangle that develops 35mm film. Did a nice job. Friendly staff, seems like a family business.

I've been impressed with how quickly my photos are printed even when uploaded from home. The quality is great too.
