First time there for supper, our meal was thoroughly enjoyable and so was the staff, will definately be a regular, highly recommended.

Loved it!
I started off with the shrimp, had the piri chicken as my main, and finished off with the cookie cake. The shrimp was delicious, a tad pricey for what it is. The chicken was so good! Loved the sauce so much. The portion of the chicken is a tad small though, as there is quite a bit of bone, and the fries could have been seasoned a little more. But wow, that cookie cake was amazing! I've never had anything like it and it was delicious.
My friend didn't have an app because she doesn't eat pork or seafood (and the chicken comes with a salad so no point in getting the salad as an app). My friend also agreed with my comments about our main. She absolutely loved the salad dressing though.
Oh! And they also start you off with some bread with a side of piri piri sauce and tapenade. That was a nice little extra and my friend enjoyed the tapenade.
The decor was so cute! Very refreshing with all the white and with pops of colour. However, the table that we were at, a table was directly behind each of our backs and I felt like I was almost sitting on top of their table.
Overall, I will definitely be back!

Canada does not immediately excel in an original kitchen. Fortunately, there are exceptions such as this restaurant: an original menu, very tasty (fish) dishes, a pleasant setting, attentive service, And at a reasonable price. If one may give advice: nice wine list, but it could be a bit more extensive. Top restaurant!

What a great addition to Huntsville. The family owned restaurant is obviously being well received … a full house! They offer a lovely selection of fresh seafood at great value. Overall the food, and the presentation, was as amazing as the staff. The hostess, little Ms Gaby, stole the show with her warm welcome and personal escort to our table. KB

First time at thr Portuguese House and it won't be our last. It's a busy place so reservations were required and we booked 4 days in advance to get a table. We were greeted kindly by a young hostess named Gaby she did a wonderful job leading us to our table. Obrigado.
Service from David was great. He was attentive, quick and helpful.
We started with a plate of warm bread served with olive tapenade and piri piri sauce.
We ordered flaming Portuguese sausage and octopus salad as our starters.
Followed by the evening special of 14oz rib eye and the seafood linguini.
Our meals were very good and of good value! The steak was perfectly cooked. Only thing I would change next time is the fries, perhaps I'd swap for something different. They were underwhelming.
The seafood linguini was full of seafood and in a nice broth, however it was quite liquidy so the noodles didn't quite have that rich broth taste on every bite. But still good taste.
Overall the food, atmosphere, and service was great and we will definitely be back!

Had an amazing evening with girlfriends. The seafood Risotto was amazing, wonderful flavour, full of seafood and served piping hot. The sardines were authentic, nice and smoky, sardine bruschetta delish. Nicely paired with the vino Verde. Amazing wait staff, attentive and great attitudes. Will definitely visit again!

The food and ambiance were terrific and so was the service. Paige and Rafa were super attentive. We had the sardine bruschetta, bitoque and grilled octopus and all were delicious. For desert, my spouse had the flan and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back.

Portuguese House Restaurant has only been open for about 2 months according to the waiter. We have dined with the previous owners at this location and always enjoyed the ambiance of the old building and the beautiful exterior wrap around porch.
We arrived without a reservation and there was only one table for two still available. We enjoyed a full bottle of Portuguese Vino Verde upon arrival, and I dined on the octopus followed up with a chocolate dessert. Both of the waite staff were very friendly and helpful, and the owner's son looked after the wine duties.
When traveling in Portugal I have had about 50% success with Portuguese Vino Verde, and asked him about their offering. He assured me they had tasted some that were unsatisfactory and settled on this winery/bottle, so I ordered it. It was delicious and only about 6 months old. Although the meal took about 40 minutes to arrive, the octopus was perfectly cooked as were the vegetables and the presentation was lovely. The chocolate dessert was a marbleized affair and delicious.
We spoke to the waiter after the meal and it turned out that the chef was the only member in the kitchen preparing the meals that evening, due to restaurant growing pains. With that knowledge, I couldn't believe my meal was so perfectly cooked. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday night. The desserts, he said, are prepared by the chef each day. Delicious.

Being a chef it's hard to go out and find a restaurant that hits all the balls out of the park. My husband suggested we try this place for our date night and im so glad we did!
The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate even though we had a patio table. The lights and soft music in the background really made us feel like we were away from home.
We were greeted by the most beautiful 10 year old girl Gavi (or Gabby my apologies) and seated at a nicely set table on the patio.
Our servers David and Raphael did not disappoint. They were very informative and helpful in choosing our wine and meals.
We ordered the seafood platter and oh my gosh it was absolutely beautiful and delicious! It was served on a rustic wood platter with the most delicious sides. The dessert was just as great, we ordered the chocolate mousse and a passion fruit cheesecake. Wow! You can definitely tell that everything was made from scratch and with love! Big thanks to all the staff and thanks to Raphael for taking care of us! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful meal here. Plenty of joice food was terrific I had lambchops and mushroom risotto lamb was tender and beautifully done.the starter I had was shrimp in chimmicuri sauce lots of tender shrimp and the sauce wasn't to hot it was lovely. Dessert was a pot of crem Brule (it was a largish size) and it was truly gorgeous. Servers were all friendly polite and very helpful, price was reasonable all together a great dining experience one of the best I've had in huntsville

If you don’t make this one of your regular go-to spots, I’d say you were a bit silly. Portuguese House embodies the true spirit of a family business, offers incredible ambiance with authentic decor, and of course the food and service are impeccable. If I could give you guys 6 stars, I would. Muito obrigado!

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE. The Portuguese House has been a fantastic addition to the restaurant scene in Huntsville. Family run, the food and plating is incredible, the portions are massive, and most importantly the service is top notch. Beautiful patio, fresh seafood, a must try if you're in Muskoka.

This was my first time dining at The Portuguese House, and it will not be my last.
Three of us reserved for a birthday celebratory dinner. The three mains we had were the sea bass, the salmon and I had the steak.
The food was amazing. My steak was done medium rare and cooked and plated to perfection.
From our greeting and seating upon arrival, the service, to desert and coffee, everything was excellent.
I was sorry to see the Artisan close, but I am so happy to have another excellent restaurant start up here in Huntsville.
The owner/operator is to be commended for his attention to detail. I highly recommend The Portuguese House.

Incredible! Been to the Portuguese house twice now and both times the food has been just incredible! You may have to wait a little for your food as good food made from scratch always takes time BUT so worth the wait and hey, got to spend good quality chat time with family and friends! Win Win! Thank you Portuguese House for serving up amazing food. We will be back again and again!

I had the pleasure of dining at a Portuguese restaurant last night, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant until the end of my meal, everything was exemplary, especially the service provided by Chelsea.
