Precision HVAC Mechanics - Heating and Cooling

Incredible experience with Precision HVAC. I was experiencing some issues with my water-source heat-pump in my condo building which is quite unique. I called Precision HVAC and they had Leaford come to look at it the same day. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helped me with my issue right away. I had to order a new heat-pump which Ambar helped me with. She provided fantastic customer service. My heat pump was delivered and installed the very next day! Thank you to the whole team at Precision HVAC for their spectacular service. I am providing 4-stars only because they do charge a 3% fee to pay by credit-card which I hope they look into changing in the future.

I’m very grateful to Precision HVAC and Leeford and Garfield. My furnace broke down the Friday before Christmas and though they were booked they fit me in at the end of the afternoon. My furnace was fixed in a short visit. This was my second service with Precision. I do highly recommend them.

Be careful - dangerous and threatening behaviour from employees! One of their drivers attempted to cut me off (while driving one of their branded vans) and when they couldn't cut in from an improper lane, tried to hit my car, tail gated and threatened my child and I. I would be very wary of having these people in my home or on my job site.

Lea-ford is considerate and very caring he saw my dog was unwell due to the heat and was very hot in the condo. He went and loaned me an portable air conditioner my dog was able to rest and sleep finally.

Precision HVAC is a great service. We were having problems with our furnace for a few weeks and another company kept putting off coming into our office, even though we stated we are a medical office and need service asap. I called HVAC and the women I spoke to over the phone, Wendy, was fantastic and she had Garfield come out just a few hours after our phone call. He told us exactly what the problem was and got our heat working before he left. We are waiting on parts for the bigger repair but the same day service was fantastic and so appreciated. This is the company we will be calling for any future issues.

Fast, efficient, thorough and honest. I cannot say enough about the team. My A/C went at 8pm on a Saturday night of a heat wave, it was fixed by noon the next day.

This review covers the replacement of an existing HVAC unit with a new HVAC unit of a different make inside a condo unit. This review has 2 parts, a good part and a not so good part.

The Good Part:

During the requirement and quotation phase of the project, we found it good that PrecisionHVAC had assigned a single point of contact, Nicole, that we communicated with throughout the entire process. Nicole was very easy to communicate with and she ensured we understood all the aspects of related to the new HVAC unit and the installation work to be done. She encouraged us to ask as many questions as necessary in order for us to have all the information we needed to arrive at the decision on the project. We were very pleased with this part of the project.

During the installation phase of the project, the PrecsionHVAC team (Leaford, Garfield and Craig) conducted themselves professionally and informed us of the progress of the work. Our condo unit was not originally designed to have an HVAC unit installed in the unit. A previous owner renovated the unit and installed an HVAC unit. As such there were unexpected configurations that the team encountered. The team demonstrated their competency by solutions around these unexpected situations. This resulted in the installation work taking longer than originally planned. However, the team persevered to  complete the installation and ensured that the unit was working as expected. We were also pleased that the team cleaned with work area and took all the waste material from the work with them for disposal.

The Not So Good Part:

Since the old HVAC unit was a custom installation by a previous owner, the dimensions of the space where the HVAC unit will be installed is tight and non-standard. The replacement unit dimensions was larger than space of the older unit. This resulted in the new unit taking up space in the closet space next to the unit space. While we understand that customizing the dimensions of the new unit to fit the space of the old unit will be very costly, we were disappointed that PrecisionHVAC did not place the necessary attention to this detail during the requirement and quotation phase and provide us with a heads up ahead of time of this possible outcome. We will now have to get someone to design and install a removable cover to the HVAC unit inside the closet space.

The receptionist was very accurate with response and everything followed as she stated for repairs. Came within a few hrs of calling. Leonard provided great service and followed protocol for Covid.

Very professional service. Easy to book. The technician called ahead and let me know they were on their way. The cleaning took about 1hour and the tech got right to work in and out!

Upon moving into our townhome we were without heat and hot water. Leaford answered the telephone and kept us in top priority until the parts were eventually sourced to repair the heating system. He was gracious and supplied a portable electric heater to us. This was excellent as the temperatures dipped down to -7 for the two days without the system working. Our furnace stopped working and Precision hvac was out the same day within hours, on time, and very professional. Leaford explained everything. Their office staff were very communicative, organized and friendly. I received text notifications confirming the visit and again when they were on their way. I have used PrecisionHVAC in the past and the service was good! The issue was no hot water! They came and fixed it! About a month later I had the same problem and called them back. We noticed that our furnace stopped working around 8: 00pm this past Saturday. Called Precision HVAC Mechanics who assigned Leaford to our ticket. It was outstanding, Leaford showed up at our door within an hour, provided a great level of knowledge and was extremely efficient in diagnosing and fixing our problem. He went above and beyond in providing a follow up message the following morning to ensure the system was operating and that we were happy with our service.

On a below freezing temperatures and on a late Sunday afternoon the furnace in a multi plex building broke down. Called precision and Leaford came out with in 3 hours to diagnose the situation. It was a motor burn out. He said he would get the manufacturer on it ASAP. On the following Tuesday which is less than 48 hours in the middle of a snowstorm he got the parts and installed it and it was putting out heat as it was it’s job. I say well done.

Leaford came by within hours of speaking with him, despite the office being closed for the holiday season. He installed my smart thermostat quickly (and fixed the errors I made trying to install it myself). I will certainly be using his service in future!

Leaford responded to my call quickly on a Saturday afternoon to have a look at the heating system problem. The inducer motor had failed. He identified the problem quickly and got a store opened and brought the inducer fan unit and installed it. By evening we had the system running again! Great job, and thank you Leaford!

Leaford was professional diagnosed the problem, prescribed a couple of options for replacement for our 15 year old Carrier furnance. Installation was the next day, weather was single digits, we stayed at the in-laws for the night. By mid afternoon the following the day, the furnance was installed, by 6 pm the house was toasty!
