It’s hidden but fantastic, right in Orleans. Park your car and Starbucks, pick up your Vanilla latte and walk towards fall. You can sit n enjoy all day along. Being slippery so be care full. You can also have some fre time at park over the fall. Elegant and beautiful fall. Do not miss it

Beautiful and nice nature walk. It’s not like Hogs Back for instance. You can’t walk around it and view isn’t great from up top. But seeing it in the woods makes it worth it.

This place was awesome!
You'll need to patient with yourself if you're really out of shape and if you want to see both the top and the bottom of the falls.
It's two different trails.
You can bypass doubling back but it's a steep hill to do so.
We had fun!
Can wait to go sledding on that other hill!

To park drive up the 47A and park on the right at the church. Cross the street and take the trail or walk the pathway until you can walk a super short trail to the falls.

Small but cool waterfall in the heart of Orleans. Enter from the surrounding residential neighbourhood by using the trails. Be careful descending to the waterfall as the incline is great and the ground gets slippery, especially after rain!
03 November 2022 15:34
Very pretty falls from St Joseph but parking is hard to find. Climb to the top is steep. I think there may be parking at the top but that address is not readily available when googling.

A nice mini hike with our dog. The path along the ridge from the toboggan hill on Princess Louise to Trim Rd is mostly shady with several access points.

Princess Louise Falls is a hidden gem on St. Joseph Boulevard in Orleans, Ottawa. #weekendOttawa #natureAdventure #summerOttawa

Nice place. Falls are of variable size - weather-dependent. There are many paths thru the forest leading to the falls. Paths are not paved and can get slippery due to the mud if it rains a bit. Suggest hiking shoes to be safer. Some areas are quite steep. Bring water for the pup!
02 September 2022 14:29
Beautiful little hike in the heart of Orléans. You will likely have to park off in the neighbourhood above the waterfall and make your way down. Worth it though.
26 August 2022 12:59
Small fall near Orleans.the falls area is nice.the only problem is parking near the road. There is a park on top of the falls.it's a good park for taking out your dog for walks.

Lots of gigantic mosquitoes, so be prepared. The flow of water is usually very low but still a place worth seeing.
20 July 2022 21:33
The fall was okay, not so big, but it will be amazing when it will start raining. It's very close to bus stop but we thought of hiking till the waterfall from the highlands. And it was great to walk through the greenaries. A quick getaway for the weekend.
20 July 2022 3:49
Its very misleading marking this place as an attraction. Yes there is some flowing water, but Ottawa offers a number of other, far better options than coming to this place
16 July 2022 20:55
Always a favorite walk with my daughter to see the falls and play Pokemon go. These pics were the trees that fell down from the storm on May 21.
07 July 2022 17:50
We took this trail for our Beaver hike to clean up garbage! (We filled half a garbage bag.there are no cans anywhere)

Parking isn't readily available and most of the better entrancesfor trails are in the residential area right behind the falls.

The hike is not very "kid friendly" and dangerous when wet. Not much for wind breaking resistance either.

Recommended hiking gear/boots to climb the slopes.

Although these things are noted, the falls were very beautiful and we did enjoy our time there! I'd have more pictures but they mostly feature my children. It's a nice hike for a nice day.

Went to the falls this past summer with my two kids (aged one and three) and we had a lot of fun looking at and getting to the falls. I love that this little hiking spot is accessible by bus and while some parts are a little steep (like getting down to the actual base of the falls) it was overall a wonderful experience that my oldest still talks about. Do NOT bring a stroller if you’re planning to hike this and have a baby - using a baby carrier would be your best bet.
08 April 2022 15:04
A gorgeous waterfall just outside of Downtown Ottawa! A beautiful sight worth seeing. Just take note that there is no parking at the waterfall, so you will need to find alternatives if you plan on driving.
24 October 2021 15:39
The falls itself was spectacular. Although we were new to the area and parking was an issue.
My wife and I do not smoke so because of the heavy smoking at the base of the falls, we will try a longer stay and more hiking on another visit.
07 October 2021 10:19
Abandoned, too much near the road to be enjoyed by nature enthusiasts. This was taken mid August. Maybe early spring the falls look fuller. There's no signed path to it too. I will not go back.
01 October 2021 18:13
Not as good as it is hyped up to be. Access the trail from the side of the highway. Visitors have littered it with cans and plastic bottles so my group and I cleared up what we could.
24 September 2021 11:19
Great location once you can find a way in to view it. Some of the paths are a bit challenging depending on footwear, and there is no signage directing you to the best viewing at the base of the falls.
Still, once you get there, especially early in the morning without others around, it is a quiet, beautiful place to unwind within the city. The way some of the cedar trees hang on to the rock face is truly impressive.
Final note: if you're going to bring food or beverage with you, at least take your garbage home. It makes it a nicer experience for everyone else.
05 September 2021 6:39
A beautiful waterful, just hidden from view from a main road. Lovely little pathways to explore and a wonderfully peaceful place to sit in the middle of the city.
03 September 2021 17:25
This is the place to go if you really enjoy waiting 30 minutes for each Instagram account holder to shoot photos along with their bestie on each level, position, angle, ledge and sun's lighting then swap so they can do it with their own phone. There is no better place for the next up and coming influenecer!

I had went to the falls to shoot longer exposures for that dreamy motion effect with a 'real' camera, but I think the influencers used more shutter time and took up more space. Save your time and avoid this place as nobody gives two $#÷s nor bothers to pick up trash after themselves.
26 August 2021 23:25
These forest trails descend to Princess Louise Falls and are fun as well as challenging. We were surprised to see parents descending a very steep hill with their baby in a stroller. Descending is much harder than climbing back up. We saw one young person try to climb the falls. We overheard another complain that she dropped her phone into it. No mosquitoes when we went in early July.
13 August 2021 22:14
What a great spot! Its a bit steep of a walk, so don't bring a stroller for your kids (Too steep for a bob as well). You'd have to bring a backpack carrier. Nice wide trails, lovely fencing. Bit of a drop on the trail to get close to the falls- there were some elderly people that had to stop further away because the trail got a bit steep for them. The waterfall is beautiful though!
11 August 2021 12:24
Was so beautiful! We went down and sat at the bottom of the falls. Kids played around in the shallow parts and we had a picnic. Will definitely be going back soon and often LOL
02 August 2021 14:26
Beautiful view and it is right next to the main road area so the hike is not to long. Only downside is that it can be a bit crowded.
31 July 2021 7:45
Sadly, lots of garbage in the area and some broken glass, but very enjoyable nonetheless. It was loads of fun to explore.
30 July 2021 4:44
Access is really difficult and dangerousbwith very very steep paths with nothing to hold on to, you need to have good shoes. It's a pity people trashvit. Other than that, a real hidden gem, it is truly beautiful
25 July 2021 19:35
It's a nice beginners trail for hiking. Almost flat. It might get slippery after rain so be careful and try avoid taking this trail if the path is damp. Make sure to carry bug spray. Overall it was a good experience:)
30 June 2021 14:30
Princess Louise Falls is a nice spot that is not a long walk. However the path is steep and has no steps or handrails. Not stroller friendly.
26 June 2021 9:32
The falls were nice ish. Something like this surrounded by housing was neat. This was very ez to get to, free street. Prkng across the st. The visit was poor stand around for about 10ish min, then move on.
24 June 2021 12:04
This is a great walking trail mainly through treed area so cooler in this hot weather. Some parts are tricky as they are a little steeper but in most cases there are optional routes.
22 June 2021 18:24
Access is through a private neighborhood, and the falls are pretty but not really worth the effort. There are nicer areas and walks available around town and beyond.
06 June 2021 21:24
Inside the city beautiful falls but there is not much to do there. You can’t swim definitely don’t bring kids it is not safe. Nice place if you want to take pics for an occasion.
06 June 2021 12:43
Well maintained paths with many smaller paths branching off. Quite hilly in parts. The falls themselves are right next to a major street and are best viewed from the side of the road. Good if you just want a quick look but not really beautifully situated. Look on a map to identify where to park on sidestreets as there in no parking but many ways to get in
13 May 2021 14:52
Yeah the waterfall is nice.and it gives you a nice instagram picture.but it's right next to the street and it's far from peaceful.it's super loud and crowded. I would not go there twice.and we biked 2h there from Ottawa downtown.what a waist.but it was a beautiful day and the bike trail was nice.but there are nicer places out there.
10 May 2021 16:46
It's easy access from St-Joseph at First St, or you come into the trail network at places like Cassia Park. From above, it's fairly easy going down save one part at the end you'll need to climb down. If you're coming up from St-Joseph, you avoid that. It's more accessible that way.
25 January 2020 20:39
Such a gorgeous place. Perfect for sightseers. Many people come here to take wedding pictures. At the top, there's a small wooden bridge that goes over the creek. Then the creek leads to a gorge like precipice. There is also a quiet area at the top enclosed by a wooden fence. The view from the bottom of the falls is stunning. You could say ephemeral. Watch your step if you happen to come from the top down. He can be quite dangerous.
08 December 2019 5:00
Had a nice time here was a bit hard to find and accessibility from the top is difficult to find but there is a long path that goes around and down to it. When we got there there's a bit of trash around and there was also a girl taking naked photos therewith her boyfriend, so it was a little awkward with my 7 year old. At least my daughter thought she was going swimming.
03 December 2019 20:54
Beautiful place to visit in the fall, around mid October. The colors are stunning and it's usually not crowded as only locals go.
13 October 2019 15:20
A hidden gem right at the side of the road. It looks pretty from afar but as you walk closer to it, you realize the amount of garbage people leave behind. If you are visiting, please just mind your waste.
07 October 2019 0:47
It’s a manmade waterfall. You can’t even swim. It’s only just there for a good view. Not even worth the drive to Orléans.
14 September 2019 8:22
It's an amazing hidden gem in orleans, and if you can manage to climb your way to the top of the falls, you will be greeted by an amazing view when looking out from above.
08 September 2019 2:23
Nice little place in the middle of Orleans. Worth seeing at least once. Couple of trails to go up and down the falls. Takes a maximum of 30 minutes to go around.
19 August 2019 1:44
The quickest way to get to these falls is from the trail from the main road. We decided to find a neighbourhood street and take the trail down. The trail is most definitely DOWN. Come prepared with good shoes. I managed in a pair of Birkenstocks, but it is steep! The falls are quaint, but you can tell they're man-made. We still enjoyed the view and the short break from driving.
16 August 2019 9:26
One of the most beautiful outdoor spots in Ottawa. Great spot to enjoy nature. There are two waterfalls to visit with great trails between.
13 July 2019 3:13
Beautiful in the spring! Who knew this place even existed? ! And I lived many years of my youth in Orleans! A hidden gem for sure!
01 July 2019 2:37
Beautiful photos and videos (especially high speed video).
This forest is the place to be in the summer for sight seeing or jog track. Spectacular.
26 June 2019 5:14
Pretty falls. The whole setting is man made but nonetheless good for a short walk. Fresh smell of trees. Place to sit and relax.
29 May 2019 20:29
Beautiful falls! Very steep to climb up though. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. Beautiful spot to have picnic with kids and familly. Very well kept clean
20 May 2019 12:33
Little gem in the ruff. Easy access and beautiful falls. Sad there was a lot of garbage though and being right next to the road took away from its beauty a bit but all in all, lovely!
